1 Welcome and Setup Information for StatBroadcast Thank you for selecting StatBroadcast for your stats technologies needs in We look forward to serving you in the upcoming year. Please look through the following pages for information about logging into your StatBroadcast account, setting up your StatCrew computers and accessing the stats service and features. Your StatBroadcast Login Information In order to download our software, transmit your stats, add and edit your event information and perform other related tasks, you ll need to login to our servers. Your login information was provided with your welcome documentation. Add Your Schedules to StatBroadcast Starting in , teams will need to enter the schedules into StatBroadcast before each season starts in order to utilize the system. To input your schedules, please visit: Additional FTP Destinations If you have additional FTP destinations, such as a conference feed or Gametracker, it is recommended that you set up the default information for those destinations on your profile before entering your schedules at FTP Information for ESPN.com is already available to each school and will appear as an option on the Add Event and Add Schedule screens. 2 Your StatBroadcast Live and StatBroadcast Mobile URL Your StatBroadcast Live domain will automatically provide a Live Stats landing page to computer/laptop/tablet users and will automatically redirect to your mobile-enabled web app for fans on mobile devices like phones. The links for current events will automatically display each day, along with an event calendar with upcoming and completed events, and an event archive of final stats. If you would prefer to link to each event s URL individually on your OAS schedule pages, you can obtain links to each event for your Live Stats for your athletics website by logging in to the Admin site at and selecting the icon titled List events URLs. This will provide you with a list of all of your events and their links for fans. To export the grid on this page to a CSV file (which can be viewed in MS Excel as a spreadsheet), click the floppy disk icon in the lower left corner of the grid. Your StatMonitr URL and Index Page for Media and Staff Media and staff can access your live media stats index page from any web browser and internet connection at your media URL. Your new StatMonitr index page displays links to the events that are occurring on today s date, and a calendar that contains all of your upcoming and previous events. Please note that StatMonitr feeds are intended for use by members of the working media and event staff only. Please use the StatBroadcast Live URL above for publication on your website and social media. Upgrading Your StatCrew Software for StatCrew Software automatically disables its ability to generate live stats XML files each July. In order to use StatBroadcast, or run live stats on any XML-based platform (CBS, Neulion, Sidearm, Presto, etc.), you will need to order the update to your StatCrew software from Please note: StatBroadcast is not affiliated with StatCrew software. 3 Downloading StatBroadcast Broadcastr 6.0 StatBroadcast has released its latest version of the Broadcastr FTP software for the season and the newest version (6.0 or later) is required for the upcoming year. The software download is available at : The download requires login using the credentials provided on Page 1. To setup the StatBroadcast system, you ll need to install a small application, called the StatBroadcast Broadcastr, which is similar to TASFTP which will send the live stats XML to our servers to run stat monitors and/or the web-based stats. You will need Administrator Access to your computer to install this software. If you are receiving errors overwriting files, you may need your Campus IT staff to temporarily unlock your computer. This application also has the ability to simultaneously send your live stats to up to six additional FTP destinations (including ESPN, Neulion, Sidearm, etc.) as well as a networked computer or scoreboard, if needed. These FTP destinations can be configured when you add schedules, add events, edit events or can be setup manually within the app. Testing your StatBroadcast Setup If this will be the first time using StatBroadcast on a specific stats computer, we strongly recommend testing your setup as soon as possible prior to the start of the season so that we may assist with any troubleshooting required. You can add a test event to your schedule at view the feed on your live/media stats URL and disable/delete the event when finished. You can perform a test by either selecting a previously completed game in TAS to send to our servers, or creating a new game from scratch and entering some sample plays to see it update live. 4 Quick Start: Setting Up StatBroadcast on your Computer (using Original StatCrew Software) Setting up your scoring computer to work with StatBroadcast is now easier than ever: Initial Setup (do this the first time you install and run Broadcastr): 1. Launch the StatBroadcast Broadcastr app. You will be prompted to select your version of StatCrew. If you are NOT using Next Generation or a third-party statistics app, choose the StatCrew button. 2. Press the the black button labeled #1 Configure StatCrew. This function will attempt to configure your StatCrew settings and create a folder for XML 3. If you were previously using TASFTP to send files, open up Game Reports, go to the Live menu, select Live Stats Setup. Under the section labeled FTP Settings, uncheck the box labeled Auto-send FTP to deactivate TASFTP Game day Setup (do this before every game: 1. Open up Game Reports and select your game. In the Live Stats Setup menu, check the box next to Activate and press OK. From the Live Setup menu, select Send stats files. 2. Launch StatBroadcast Broadcastr and press the blue button labeled #2 Load New Event ; when prompted select your event from the list and press Load Configuration. 3. Press the green button labeled #3 Start Transmitting 4. 5 Troubleshooting Broadcastr Issues XML file could not be found If an event has not yet started or the destination folder does not exist, StatCrew will not generate an initial XML file to send via FTP. 1. Ensure that the target directory specified in Game Reports Live Setup Copy File Settings exists on your computer. Do this opening My Computer, looking on the drive you specified (i.e. C:) and looking for the folder (i.e. xml). If the folder does not exist or was not automatically created by Broadcastr, go the file menu and create a new folder. 2. Create a pre-game XML file from Stat Crew. In Game Reports, go to the Live menu and select Send Stats Files. Note: In TAS Baseball, activating a live stats feed before entering starting lineups for both teams will cause Game Reports to crash. No Internet connection available If your Broadcastr is able to connect and load an event configuration, but then fails to connect to the FTP servers (showing the error An internet connection is not available ), your network may be blocking FTP access. To switch Broadcastr into HTTP mode: Press the Advanced Settings button Check the box next to Enable HTTP Mode for Transmissions Press Save and try transmitting again. In HTTP compatibility mode, your XML files will be transmitted to our servers first via HTTP (webpage) and then FTP d to your assigned destinations. 6 Using the StatBroadcast Admin Control Panel By logging into the Admin Control Panel at: you ll have the ability to manage and edit all of your current events, add any new events, write Live Game notes for your events, send announcements to your stat monitors, upload season stats and more.
