4 Overview Overview This document briefly describes the planned direction of the release of IHS Petra 2014 Standard Feature Pack 1. 5 General General Flexible License Manager Update Customers that are implementing Flexera s LmTools/Lmgrd as the license manager for 3.8.x will need to update to the newer LmAdmin license manager. Petra 2014 Standard requires Flexera s LmAdmin license manager with upgraded daemon (IHS.exe). This implementation is required for flexible, network licensees prior to updating to Petra For customers that have already implemented LmAdmin, a new license (IHS.lic) may be required and will be provided upon request. Customers with stand-alone bitlock licenses (USB) require no action as bitlocks are compatible with any version of Petra. Please refer to the LmAdmin Installation Guide for instructions. PetraSeis Discontinued Petra 2014 Standard does not contain or support PetraSeis. Customers that wish to continue using PetraSeis should not upgrade. IHS Kingdom provides an upgraded technology solution for seismic interpretation customers currently using PetraSeis. The solution, IHS Kingdom 2D/3D Pak, is quickly being integrated with IHS Oil & Gas data and IHS Petra. Please contact your account manager with questions about transitioning your seismic needs to IHS Kingdom. Backward Compatibility Petra updates periodically contain changes and additions to the database tables. If an updated version of Petra is used to access a shared project, older versions of Petra may no longer be able to access that project. All Petra seats within an organization should be updated at the same time. If the organization prefers to test new versions of Petra before general release to all users, it is best that testing be done with dedicated testing projects rather than projects that the organization wants to be accessible to older versions of Petra. Software Download Capability An electronic download of this new release is available from the IHS Petra Software Download page. From the Petra main menu select Help > Petra Download Web Site. Select the product you want to download and save the update file. After downloading the update, close Petra before installing. For the network version, all users must exit Petra before the update can be installed. If you do not have an internet connection and need to obtain the Petra update on physical media, contact IHS at petralicensing@ihs.com. Requirements Minimum Hardware Requirement 64-bit dual-core machine 12 GB of physical RAM 512 Mb of video RAM with OpenGL acceleration 5

6 General Supported Workstation Operating Systems Windows 7 Windows XP 32-bit Note: Windows 8 is currently not supported Supported Server OS Windows Server bit, multiple servers can be deployed in your environment to accommodate large numbers of users Note: Windows Server 2012 is currently not supported Server Recommendations IHS recommends that you store the database files on a server or NAS server. See the PETRA Usage in Large Multiuser Environments document for details. Best Practices If you are storing your projects on your local hard drive, obtain an NTFS formatted drive large enough to store all of your projects. Backing up your data is critical. Remember to also use a backup device of some kind in case of a failure. 6

7 Enhancements Enhancements General Improved the table functionality in the Main Module for FmTops and Zones: The FmTops and Zones table columns sort by clicking on the field header. The option to Find next and Find previous option was added based on free form text A Send to Spreadsheet button was added for easy export Easily Fix Broken Pathing for Associated Rasters - A utility has been added to easily select folders to search for associated rasters which may have been moved, etc. Main Module>Rasters Tab>Group Maintenance>Misc & Tools Tab>Imagesearch.txt Map Module Attribute Maps A Scale Size Factor option was added for the attribute legend Improved Associated Read Only (AR) Layer Management: Filename view was added for existing AR layers, i.e. directory path Users now have the option to easily convert a Normal layer to an AR layer or *.LAY file. We also added the option to easily convert an AR layer to a Normal layer for editing. Export - Import The option to import XML calibrations for Raster logs from LOGarc was implemented. This option accommodates the Bulk Raster Hard Drive deliverables for LOGarc. Direct Connect Digital Logs Importer An option was added to import into Original Well Completions based on 10 or 12 digit APIs. Well Information Importer An option was added to resume interrupted downloads from the point of interruption. Well Information Importer An option was added to import the Original and Current operator exactly as it is reported in Enerdeq as Historical and Operator, respectively. Well Information Importer The option to build and save NEW Enerdeq queries was added for the following properties: Operator Total Depth Lease Name Completion Date Field Spud Date Basin Last Activity Date BH Formation Permit License Date State/County Final Status Production Information Importer An option was added to resume interrupted downloads from the point of interruption. 7

8 Bug Fixes Bug Fixes Since the release of Petra Standard 2014, the following bug fixes have been made. Feature Pack 1 (February 2015) Module/Function Description ID Main Fixed error in DBUtil when getting GPDBGetZoneDef and the DE14568 Upper or Lower depth is blank. Main Log substitution now correct if the input log is in different depth units than the projects default units. DE9028 Main View As' units now set correctly on new project after adding a well. DE13684 Main Can now save repeat tops. DE16395 Main Cross Section Fixed issue where null value was not always honored when logs are imported via API with NULL of Option to flatten aliased top using popup menu now includes aliased tops when initially entering Cross Section module. DE8374 DE13760 Cross Section Repeat tops now plots if using aliases. DE13668 Map The splitter to change the size of the WSN list box in the Map Quick List has been moved to the correct box. DE10696 Map Available shape file layer fields now synchronize with Enerdeq. DE6638 Map 3D Viz Overlay labeled line editing changes create a label on the next line selected. 3DViz now selects correct well when surface locations are very close. DE8168 DE8129 3D Viz Show data can now be displayed in 3D Viz. DE7488 Interval Data Direct Connect Well Importer Fixed issue with importing Interval data from tabular file with SSTVD depths for top and base with no datum. Well Direct Connect now loads the condensate volume when part of IP test. DE9180 DE16271 Directional Well Plan well -- dialog box now shows full name of well API DWM. DE7565 Raster Calibration Fixed Hot keys in the Raster Calibration Module. DE9790 8
