8 VIEVU Solution User Guide Introduction Introduction Since VIEVU Solution is fully hosted and accessed through an internet browser or smartphone app, a minimal amount of setup, support, and maintenance is required. The VIEVU Solution includes many key features to enhance your video and evidence management processes: Easy to use and simple to deploy. Unlimited scalability. Streaming video playback. Secure external video sharing. Add metadata and upload video from the field. Case file management for all digital evidence. Store all file types (video, pictures, documents, reports, etc). Smartphone app to enable non-camera users with the ability to upload pictures or videos from their smartphone and review video, cases, and files without a computer. Enhanced security controls, including IP whitelisting, multi-factor authentication, and other granular user security options. Note: The VIEVU Solution is compatible only with the VIEVU LE3, LE4, LE4mini, LE5, and LE5 LITE cameras. SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY VIEVU Solution Website: Internet Explorer 11 and Edge. 10 GETTING STARTED Update to Latest Firmware To be certain that your camera is operating at its optimal efficiency and ensure that you re getting the maximum benefits from your VIEVU camera s features and from the rest of your VIEVU equipment, it is critical that you regularly update Camera and Multi- Dock Firmware. REGULAR UPDATES FOR EQUIPMENT FIRMWARE VIEVU camera firmware can be updated either automatically, generally through a Multi-Dock setup, or manually using the following procedure. To manually update VIEVU Camera Firmware: 1. Visit the VIEVU Camera Support page at 2. Select your camera model by clicking on the corresponding red arrow. 3. Download and run the Firmware Updater tool. 10 Version

12 VIDEOS & FILES Download After a video from a VIEVU camera has been recorded, you ll need to download the video and any associated files to the VIEVU Solution where it can be categorized, archived, and used for evidence. DOWNLOAD VIDEO FROM CAMERA (WITHOUT MULTI-DOCK) You ll use the provided download cable to perform the following procedure. The VIEVU camera download cable has three connectors, as shown below. The download cable has 2 standard USB connectors and 1 mini-usb connector. To begin the download process: Connect the download cable as follows: 12 Version

13 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide Connect the two large ends of the supplied USB download cable to any two standard USB ports on your computer. Swivel the rubber USB cover on the bottom of the camera to reveal the mini-usb port. Connect the smaller (mini-usb) download cable connector to the port on the bottom of the camera, shown below. Note: The mini-usb connector is keyed so that the connected cable has the proper orientation. Do not force this connector, as it could damage the connector or the camera port. Note: A rubber cover protects the mini-usb port when not in use. Simply rotate the rubber cover to reveal the port. Version

14 If the camera is an LE3, turn the camera On. LE4 and LE5 cameras turn on automatically. Note: The VIEVU Solution Connector must be installed on the computer. From the left-side toolbar, click the Add icon. A popup window is displayed to the side as shown. Select From Camera. The VIEVU Solution Connector opens and the download process starts automatically. Note: Do not turn off or disconnect the camera while downloading. When finished, select the Close button to close the VIEVU Solution Connector. 14 Version

15 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide DOWNLOAD VIDEO FROM CAMERA (WITH MULTI-DOCK) To download video from a camera using a Multi-Dock: Gently insert the camera into a bay on the Multi-Dock. If the camera is an LE3, turn the camera On. LE4 and LE5 cameras turn on automatically. The download process begins automatically. You do not need to be logged into the VIEVU Solution website to download. Note: The VIEVU Solution Connector must be installed on the computer connected to the USB Multi-Dock and the Multi-Dock must be turned On in the settings menu. ADD VIDEO & FILES FROM COMPUTER From the left-side toolbar, click the Add icon. A popup window is displayed to the side as shown. Select From Computer. Browse and select videos and files to upload. Click Open to automatically start the upload process. Enter any additional Metadata. After the video has finished uploading, click Save. When the confirmation window is displayed, click OK. SHA-512 CALCULATION FOR DOWNLOADED VIDEOS VIEVU Solution provides an option to include SHA-512 checksum for downloaded videos. This means you can verify that a downloaded video is identical to a video in VIEVU Solution, by comparing a SHA-512 checksum received from VIEVU Solution to a checksum resulting from running the same video through an independent software package. SHA-512 is provided in hexadecimal format. To get the SHA-512 checksum: From the Video Details page, click the Download button. Select the Generate SHA-512 check box as shown. Version

16 Click the Download button. A confirmation window is displayed. Click OK to confirm. In a short time, you receive an containing a link to download the selected video and SHA. 16 Version

17 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide Search SEARCH BY CRITERIA To search by specific criteria: From the left-side toolbar on the VIEVU Solution main page, select your search criteria. From the tabs across the top of the Search prompt, select Videos, Files, or All (for both). Note: You can create complex searches by selecting multiple search criteria before clicking the Search button. Enter your initial search criteria into the search box and click the Magnifying Glass icon. Your initial results are displayed. At this point, whenever a Plus Sign icon is displayed next to any of the search results, you can select it to include additional filters in the combined search box below the initial Search window. For example, if you select the Plus Sign icon next to Wick, John, the search box would appear similar to the image below. Tip: You can sort search results by Date of Record, Date of Upload, Duration, User, or Category in ascending or descending order. Version

18 Select additional criteria from the toolbar on the left and click Search again to continue your search using the additional criteria. Using this method, you can keep adding more criteria to your search with the result of drilling down deeper and deeper into your data. Click the Search button to display the videos/files matching all search criteria. The videos/files are listed on a screen like the one below. EXPORT SEARCH RESULTS To export search results: Complete a Search. In the top-right corner of the Search Results window, click the Export to Excel icon. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to download the csv (Excel) formatted file. Click Yes to confirm. Tip: The export is provided in CSV format, which you can open with Microsoft Excel. Video & File Details VIEW VIDEO To play a video: Complete a Search. Click on a video in the search results section to display the Video Review window. Click the Play button to view the video. Notes: Video playback in the browser might not be immediately available after a video is uploaded. If you have Download Files security, you can alternatively use the Download Files function to view the video. 18 Version

19 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide Move the volume slider to change the video s volume. To view a video in full screen, click the Full screen icon. To exit full screen view, press the ESC key. EDIT METADATA To edit metadata: Complete a Search. Click on a Video or File in the search results section. The Video Review window is displayed. Click the Edit Details icon to display the Edit File Details window. This window provides a method for editing any of a file s details. In the Category field, use the drop-down list to select a category for this file. In the Case field, enter a case name, or enter just a part of the case name and click the Magnifying Glass icon to select from a list matching the characters entered. Enter Report and Event numbers in the appropriate fields. In the Comments field, enter any comments you want to include with the file. In the Extend Retention field, click on the down arrow next to the field to view a drop-down menu of choices. The choices (as shown) are Off, Choose Date, and Never Delete. Version

20 o o If you select Choose Date from the drop-down menu, an additional field is displayed showing the current deletion date. Click the Calendar icon next to the field. A calendar is displayed from which you can select the extended deletion date. If you select Never Delete from the drop-down menu, Never Delete is displayed in the field and the evidence cannot be deleted, either automatically or manually, until the Extend Retention field is changed. Use the Lockdown toggle to manually lock out all users without specific permissions from access to the file. Note: The Lockdown toggle is displayed on the Edit File Details window only if the Lockdown option was selected for this user in the Add Role window. Attach tags to the file by clicking the Add Tag button and selecting a tag (or multiple tags) from the current list. Click the Add Map Location button to enter a specific location for this file. When you initially click this option, a window like the following is displayed. 20 Version

21 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide Enter the street address for this video into the map s Address field and click the Magnifying Glass icon. The displayed map zooms in on the selected location. When you re finished entering the information in the Edit File Details window, click Save. A confirmation screen is displayed. Click OK. Tip: To change the user to which the video is assigned, click the user name on the top-right corner of the VIEVU Solution main window. Version

22 PRINT SCREENSHOT To generate a printout of the current screen: Complete a Search. Select a video in the search results section to display it in the Video Review window. Click the Play button to begin video playback. At the point in the video you want to capture, click the Print Video Screenshot icon to view the Print window with your screenshot displayed. If you are satisfied with the screenshot, select your printer, make any other desired changes for Orientation, Copies, Pages, etc. and click the Print button. Note: To use this function, ensure that all pop-up blockers in your browser are disabled. SHARE VIDEO & FILES By default, every user is provided with a given set of file permissions. These permissions apply to all video and files displayed by the user, including shared videos and files. A user sharing a video or file can elevate the permissions of a user with whom they are sharing, however, they can never downgrade the user s permissions. In general, users can perform all functions with shared video and files that their role allows, unless additional permissions are granted through a shared video or file. Note: You can now use Groups to share video and files with multiple users at once. Simply create a group that contains the users with whom you want the video/files to be shared and include the Group name in the share. To share a video or file: Complete a Search. Click on a video or file in the search results section. Located beneath the Video Review window, click the Share icon to view the shared history of this video. From the top-right corner of the Shared Video list, click the Create Share icon and select Share with User (which can include Groups), Share with , or Share by Link from the drop-down list. The Share File window (see below) requests slightly different information, depending on your selection from the drop-down in the previous step. The following example of the Share File window is what you see if you selected Share with User from the previous drop-down. 22 Version

23 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide In the Share with User field, enter a user or group name. Tip: Alternatively, you can use the Magnifying Glass icon next to the Share with User field to perform an active search for specific users or groups. This type of search is described previously in the Search section. Use the drop-down calendar to enter a date and time at which access to the share expires. Enter a purpose for the share. Add any comments you want to include in the notification of the share. Use the Allow download toggle to select whether to allow the designated user to download the shared content. Use the Allow audit log export toggle to select whether to allow the designated user to export the Video Audit Log for the share. Click Share. Note: The Copy to Clipboard function does not work if Java is not installed on the computer. Alternatively, you can manually select and copy the link. SHARE MULTIPLE VIDEOS AT ONCE You can now share multiple files and videos in VIEVU Solution. To share multiple videos: Much like a single share, the Share Multiple function is controlled by the Share Video permissions on the Add/Edit Roles page. Version

24 If a user has any of the Share permissions activated and then selects two or more evidence items from the list, the Share Multiple button becomes available. The Share Multiple Files window is displayed as shown. 24 Version

25 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide In the Share with User field, enter the name of the person with whom to share the videos. You can enter multiple names in this field to share with multiple users. The user (or users) you selected for the share receive an notification with a link to access the shared video(s). Note that all text you enter in the Comments field above is included in the body of the notification. When a user clicks on the link, a list of all shared files is displayed in VIEVU Solution. If not currently logged in to VIEVU Solution, the user will be required to log in to access the shared files. Version

26 DEFAULT SHARE DATE IS THE SAME AS THE EVIDENCE RETENTION DATE Originally, the default share date expiration was set for 24 hours from the time the share was created. With this change, the default expiration date of the share is the date the video is to be deleted. In addition, this default date is applied on all share screens (i.e. Share with User, Share with , and Share by Link). To view the current share expiration date: Select a video and open the file. Click the Share icon below the Video window. The Share File window is displayed as shown, with the Expiration Date displayed. The date displayed in the Expiration Date field should match the evidence retention date (deletion date) of the video or file. If necessary, the default share value can be easily changed by a user. DOWNLOAD A COPY OF THE VIDEO & FILE To download a video/file copy: Complete a Search. Click on a video or file in the search results section. The Video Review window is displayed. Click the Download icon, located beneath the Video Review window. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to download the file. Click Yes to continue. The Download window is displayed. On this screen, enter a reason for the download and click Ok. The file downloads to your browser s default file download location. When the file is finished downloading, you are provided with the options to Open, Open Folder, or View downloads. 26 Version

27 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide DOWNLOAD MULTIPLE COPIES OF VIDEOS & FILES To download multiple copies of videos and files: Complete a Search. Click the Download Multiple Videos and Files icon in the upper-right corner of the search results page. On the next screen, enter a reason for the download and click Ok. The Download Multiple Videos and Files window is displayed, similar to the one shown below. Notes: Multiple downloads are limited to 10 videos and/or files at a time. For the best results, it s recommended that you have a well-defined search request. The file downloads to your browser s default file download location. Select the check boxes corresponding to the videos and/or files you want copied. Click Download. An Informational message with instructions is displayed as shown. Click OK. You will receive an notification when the file collection is ready for download. This notice, similar to the following, contains a link you can click to access the requested files. Version

28 DOWNLOAD AUDIT LOG To download the Audit Log: Complete a Search. Click on a video in the search results section. The Video Review window is displayed. Click the Export Audit Log icon, located beneath the Video Review window. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to download the file. Click Yes to confirm. When the file is finished downloading, you are provided with the choice to Open, Open Folder, or View downloads. Tip: You can open the CSV format export with Microsoft Excel. REDACT VIDEO The Automated Video Redaction (AVR) technology provided by the VIEVU Solution is optimized for body-worn or dashboard camera footage, which faces unique challenges based on movement, poor lighting, and low resolution. The VIEVU AVR system employs an advanced algorithm to automatically detect and track faces and other identifiers which can then be easily blurred or otherwise redacted. This system can transform a formerly time-intensive task, previously restricted to video specialists, into an automated function that department officers and security professionals can perform themselves. To start the redaction process: Complete a Search. 28 Version

29 Videos & Files VIEVU Solution User Guide In the search results section, click on the video you want to redact. The Video Review window is displayed. Click the Redaction icon, located beneath the Video Review window. For additional instructions and details on how to use video and audio redaction, see the VIEVU Solution Automated Video Redaction (AVR) User Guide. Note: Redaction flags are now carried over into each new redaction copy. These flags can work like hyperlinks and save redaction time by linking you directly to important segments of the video. DELETE VIDEO & FILES To delete video or files: Complete a Search. Click on a video in the search results section. Click the Delete icon, located beneath the Video Review window. A confirmation screen is displayed asking you to confirm the deletion. Click Yes. At the next screen, enter a reason for deleting the video and click Ok. Version

30 VIEVU Solution User Guide CASES Cases Cases are virtual folders containing video and other documents for the purpose of centralizing the storage and review of digital evidence. Cases can be assigned to users giving them special privileges to see and review the information contained therein. Add Cases ADD CASE To add a case: From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Cases as shown. Click the Add Case button. The Add New Case window is displayed as shown. Input the necessary information in the appropriate fields. When you are satisfied with your entries, click Save. 30 Version

31 Cases VIEVU Solution User Guide Tips: To change the user to which the case is assigned, click the user name on the top right. The case is assigned a number in the format YYYY-XXXXXX. Search SEARCH CASES BY CRITERIA To search cases by specific criteria: From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Cases. From the toolbar on the left side of the VIEVU Solution window, select an appropriate filter option. The Search window is displayed. For example, if you select Users as your initial filter option, the Search window is displayed as shown. Tips: You can create complex searches by selecting multiple search criteria before clicking the Search button. To search for all videos, leave the search box empty and click the Search button. Enter your initial search criteria into the search box and click the Magnifying Glass icon. Your initial results are displayed, as shown. At this point, whenever a Plus Sign icon is displayed next to any of the search results, you can select it to include additional filters to the selected result in the Combined Search Box below the initial Search window. For example, if you select the Plus Sign icon next to Wick, John, the search box would appear similar to the following. Version

Using this method, you can keep adding more criteria to your search with the result of drilling down deeper and deeper into your data. Click the Search button to display the cases matching all search criteria. The videos/files are listed on a screen like the one shown below. Tip: In the Page size field at the bottom of the first page of results, select 10, 20, or 50 from the drop-down menu to adjust the number of videos/files listed on each page. 32 Version

33 Cases VIEVU Solution User Guide EXPORT CASES To export a case: Make sure that the Cases tab is selected from the top of the VIEVU Solution screen. Complete a Search. Click the Export to Excel icon in the upper-right corner of the search results page. A confirmation screen is displayed to make sure that your intent is to download the cvs file. Click Yes to confirm. When the file is finished downloading, you are provided with the choice to Open, Open Folder, or View downloads. Tip: You can open the CSV format export with Microsoft Excel. Case Details VIEW CASE To view a specific case: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click on a Case to display the case information window where you can determine Summary, Tags, Comments, Status, Report/Event Numbers, and associated Incident and Create Dates, as shown. Version

34 VIEVU Solution User Guide Cases VIEW CASE ATTACHED FILES To view case attached files: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the main VIEVU Solution window, complete a Search. Click on a Case to display the case information window. Click on the thumbnail file. If the file is a video, a video playback window is displayed. If the file is a picture or other document, a window is displayed containing the file. You may need to click Open before you can view certain file types. Tip: When viewing a video, click on the file name at the top to view the video metadata. REMOVE ATTACHED FILE FROM CASE To remove an attached file from a case: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the main VIEVU Solution window, complete a Search. Click on a Case to display the case information window. 34 Version

35 Cases VIEVU Solution User Guide To delete a video or file, click the X in the top-right corner of the thumbnail or file. Click Ok. Note: Clicking the X on a video or file will not permanently delete it. The file is removed from the case, but is still available through searches on the Videos & Files tab. ADD FILE TO CASE To add a file to a case: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click on a case to display the Case Information window. Select the Add Case to File icon at the top of the window. Navigate to and select the file to upload. Then click Open to automatically start uploading the file. When the file is finished uploading, click Save. EDIT CASE DETAILS To edit case details: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Version

36 VIEVU Solution User Guide Cases Click on a Case to display the case information window. Select the Edit Case icon. The Edit Case Details window is displayed as shown. Modify the case details as needed and click Save. Tip: To change the user to whom the case is assigned, click on the user name on the top right. SHARE CASE To share a case: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click on a Case in the search results section to display the case information window. Select the Share Case icon to display the list of shares for the case, similar to that shown. 36 Version

37 Cases VIEVU Solution User Guide Click the Create Share icon at the top of the window and select Share with User (which can include Group names to include multiple users at the same time), Share with , or Share by Link. The Share Case window is displayed as shown. Enter the user or group name, address, or link with which you want to share the case. Use the drop-down calendar to enter a date and time at which access to the share expires. Enter a purpose for the share. Add any comments you want to include in the notification of the share. Use the Allow download toggle to select whether to allow the designated user to download the shared content. Use the Allow audit log export toggle to select whether to allow the designated user to export the Video Audit Log for the share. Click Share. Note: If Copy to Clipboard does not work, Java is not installed on the computer. Alternatively, you can manually select and copy the link. DOWNLOAD ALL CASE ATTACHMENTS To download all case attachments: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click on a Case to display the case information window. Click the Download All icon. This starts the download process. Version

38 VIEVU Solution User Guide Cases On the displayed window, enter a reason for the download request. An Info window is displayed to inform you that your request has been accepted and you will receive an when the case files are ready for download. Click OK. You will receive an notice when your files are ready. This notice, similar to the following, contains a link you can click to access the requested files. DELETE CASE To delete a case: With the Cases tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click on an individual Case to display its Case Information window. At the top-right corner of the Case Information window, click the Delete icon. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to delete the case. Click Yes to confirm. At the next window, enter a reason for deleting the case and click Ok. 38 Version

39 Cameras CAMERAS VIEVU Solution User Guide Assign Camera Cameras must be assigned to the system before videos can be downloaded from them. If you have accidently recorded video on the camera before assigning and you need to retain the video, contact VIEVU for assistance. ASSIGN CAMERA To assign a case: Connect the two large ends of the supplied USB download cable to any two standard USB ports on your computer. Note: A rubber cover protects the mini-usb port when not in use. Simply rotate the rubber cover to reveal the port. Swivel the rubber USB cover on the bottom of the camera to reveal the mini-usb port. Version

40 VIEVU Solution User Guide Cameras Connect the smaller (mini-usb) download cable connector to the port on the bottom of the camera, shown below. Note: The mini-usb connector is keyed so that the connected cable has the proper orientation. Do not force this connector, as it could damage the connector or the camera port. Turn the camera On. Log In to your VIEVU Solution website. Click the Cameras tab on the toolbar across the top of the window. From the left-side toolbar, click Assign Camera. The VIEVU Solution Connector application is displayed and you are prompted to enter a user name. Notes: VIEVU Solution Connector must be installed on the computer to assign cameras. Do NOT turn off or disconnect the camera while assigning. Enter the Name of the user to whom you want the camera assigned and click the Magnifying Glass icon. The selected user name is displayed. Click the Add icon next to the correct user. At the bottom of the screen, click Assign. The camera is assigned to the user and you are returned to the VIEVU Solution Connector main window (as shown), from which you can assign additional cameras, add metadata to videos, or download video from a camera. 40 Version

You can immediately begin recording with it to familiarize yourself with its features. Tips: 1) The VIEVU Solution Connector must be installed on the computer. 2) Do not turn off or disconnect the camera while assigning. 3) You must assign all cameras before recording videos or the videos could be prevented from downloading. Contact VIEVU for assistance if this occurs. Search for Cameras SEARCH BY CRITERIA To search cameras by criteria: From the tabs at the top of the main VIEVU Solution page, click on Cameras. From the toolbar on the left side of the VIEVU Solution window, select an appropriate filter option. The Search window is displayed. For example, if you select Users as your initial filter option, the Search window is displayed as shown. Tips: You can create complex searches by selecting multiple search criteria before clicking the Search button. To search for all videos, leave the search box empty and click the Search button. 42 VIEVU Solution User Guide Cameras Enter your initial search criteria into the search box and click the Magnifying Glass icon. Your initial results are displayed, as shown. At this point, whenever a Plus Sign icon is displayed next to any of the search results, you can select it to include additional filters to the selected result in the Combined Search Box below the initial Search window. For example, if you select the Plus Sign icon next to Wick, John, the search box would appear similar to that shown. Select additional criteria from the toolbar on the left and click Search again to continue your search using the additional criteria. Using this method, you can keep adding more criteria to your search with the result of drilling down deeper and deeper into your data. Click the Search button to display the cameras matching all search criteria. The cameras are listed on a screen like the one shown in the next image. 42 Version

43 Cameras VIEVU Solution User Guide Tip: In the Page size field at the bottom of the first page of results, select 10, 20, or 50 from the drop-down menu to adjust the number of cameras listed on each page. In the Status column, the status of each camera is indicated as: o o o o o Available The camera is operational and currently not assigned to an officer. In Use - The camera is operational and assigned to an officer. Broken - The camera may or may not be operational and may or may not be assigned to an officer. In Repair - The camera is not operational and may or may not be assigned to an officer. Retired - The camera is no longer operational and cannot be assigned to an officer. Whenever a new camera is added to VIEVU Solution, its initial status is In Use. You can change the status of any camera at any time. Edit Cameras EDIT CAMERA ASSIGNMENT To edit a camera assignment: With the Camera tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click the Edit icon next to the camera for which you want to change assignments. The Edit Camera window is displayed as shown. Version

44 VIEVU Solution User Guide Cameras Click the User Name on the right as shown. Enter a User Name (or enter just the first few characters of a name) and click the Magnifying Glass icon. From the search results, click the Add icon next to the user to whom you want to assign the camera. Click Save. REMOVE CAMERA To remove a camera: With the Camera tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click the Delete icon next to the camera you want to remove. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to delete the camera. Click Yes. Note: Removing a camera prevents the camera from downloading. Remove a camera only AFTER all videos have been downloaded from the camera. EXPORT CAMERAS To export a camera: With the Camera tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. 44 Version

From the confirmation screen, click Yes. Tip: You can open the CSV format export with Microsoft Excel. RESET A CAMERA If a VIEVU camera ever seems to be locked up or is behaving strangely, it may just need to be reset. To reset a camera: Turn the camera On. Open the sliding door on the bottom of the camera. Locate the small hole next to the mini-usb port, as shown. Gently insert a paperclip into the hole. You should feel a small depress of the Reset button. Hold the Reset button down for a second or two. The status light turns off during this step. Release the button. The status light turns back on. You have successfully reset the camera. Version

46 VIEVU Solution User Guide Users USERS ADD USER To add a user: Note: You must create the Security Role and Unit location before you can add a user. With the Users tab selected at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, complete a Search. Click the Add User icon on the left-side toolbar. Note: An information notice is displayed warning you that if AD Sync is enabled, the additional user is not automatically updated. Click OK. The Add User window is displayed as shown. Enter a Name, Username, Phone Number, Address, Security Role, and Unit location. Note: When you include a user s phone number in their profile, it can be used for notifications in Multi- Factor Authentication. Optionally, you can upload a photograph or avatar for the user, or add a specific ID code. When you re satisfied with your entries, click the Save button. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to reset this user s security questions. Click Yes. The next time the user logs in, he/she is prompted to select new security questions. Note: Refer to the Reset Security Questions section in this guide for more details on selecting and resetting your security questions. EDIT USER PASSWORD To edit a user password: With the Users tab selected at the top of the screen, complete a Search. Click the Edit icon next to the user. The Edit User window is displayed as shown previously in the Edit User Information section. Click the Reset Password button. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to reset this user s password. Click Yes. The user receives an with a link to reset their password. Note: Refer to the Reset Password section in this guide for details on resetting your password. MANUALLY LOCK/UNLOCK USER To manually lock or unlock a user: With the Users tab selected at the top of the screen, complete a Search. Click the Edit icon next to the user. The Edit User window is displayed as shown previously in the Edit User Information section. Click to move the Lock/Unlock User toggle to the Locked or Unlocked position. Click Save. Note: A user s account is also locked if their password is entered incorrectly 5 times. Refer to the Account Lockout section in this guide for details on account lockout and recovery. Version

51 Master Log VIEVU Solution User Guide ROLES Roles are a method used within VIEVU Solution to group individual users by their approved access to the system. Each role carries a specific level of security clearance. In the default VIEVU Solution system, two roles are available: The Admin role has access to all administrative functions (user accounts, passwords, updates, etc.), while the User role is what everyone else has. The limitations within the User role are configurable by the individual agency. You can also create additional roles for unique organizational requirements. By default, every user is provided with a given set of file permissions. These permissions apply to all video and files displayed by the user, including shared videos and files. A user sharing a video or file can elevate the permissions of a user with whom they are sharing, however, they can never downgrade the user s permissions. In general, users are able to perform all functions with shared video and files that their role allows, unless additional permissions are granted through a shared video or file. Add Role ADD ROLE To add a role: Select the Roles tab at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen. Click the Add Role icon on the left-side toolbar. The Add Role window is displayed as shown. Version

Search SEARCH ROLES BY CRITERIA To search roles by criteria: Select the Roles tab at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen. From the left-side toolbar, click a filter option. In the Search box, enter your Search criteria. Click the Add icon next to a search result (if necessary). The search criteria are moved to the combined search box below the search button. Click Search to display the events matching the search criteria. Tips: You can create complex searches by selecting multiple search criteria before clicking the Search button. To search for all master log events, leave the search box empty and click the Search button. In VIEVU Solution, the Master Log contains a backup of all processed video and associated data. Search SEARCH BY CRITERIA To search the Master Log by criteria: From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution screen, click on Master Log. From the left-side toolbar, click a filter option. 56 Camera History CAMERA ASSIGNMENT HISTORY REPORT This feature provides users with ability to download a Camera History Report for any camera. Historic data starts generating from the time the camera is deployed, so the camera history report will only include historic data for cameras deployed after this feature has been implemented. Note: This feature is available to customers with 300+ camera licenses. 60 Activity History ACTIVITY HISTORY REPORT Three settings based on tracking user activity are included on the Add/Edit Roles page: Hide Activity setting allows a user role to hide their system activity from activity history reports. Activity History setting shows logged activity, excluding hidden activity. Audit Log setting allows users to download the Audit Log. A default administrator role is provided with Activity History and Audit Log permissions. HISTORY TAB A History tab is available on the Evidence Details page. The History tab is only available to users with Activity History enabled on the Add/Edit Roles page. To view activity history for a video or file: Select a video and open the Evidence Details page. Click on the History tab, located just below the video window. All details about the activity history for the video are displayed, as shown. 60 Version

The Activity History setting on the Add/Edit Roles page controls whether the History tab is displayed on the Evidence Details page. The Audit Log setting on the Add/Edit Roles page (previously combined with Download Files permission) controls whether the user has the Export Audit Log button available on the Evidence Details page. VIEVU CAMERA SETTINGS TABLE Setting Function Options Available On Video Resolution Pre-Record Pre-Record Audio Post-Record Changes the video resolution. Note that larger resolutions will increase the file size. When recording begins, the camera will backup and capture video from before the recording started. Your entry in the Pre- Record Length field adjusts the amount of time for pre-record (LE4-30 seconds only). Selects whether to include audio in Prerecord video. Camera continues recording for the time set in the Post-Record Length field after recording has stopped. See Post-Record Camera Function section below for setup details. To set the Post-Record function: From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Cameras. In the Post-Record field, click the On button. With the Post-Record option set to On, the camera will continue recording for 30 seconds after the slider switch has been turned Off. Version

66 VIEVU Solution User Guide Settings SSID BROADCAST CAMERA FUNCTION The ability to turn SSID Broadcast On or Off is a new VIEVU Solution feature available for VIEVU s LE5, LE5 LITE, LE4, and LE4mini cameras. When the SSID Broadcast function is disabled, only people who know the camera s serial number can connect to this camera via a WiFi network. By default, the SSID Broadcast function is set to On. When SSID Broadcast is set to Off, the camera WiFi network is hidden from the list of available networks, for example, when a user tries to connect from the Mobile App. To turn SSID Broadcast Off: From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Cameras. In the SSID Broadcast field, click the Off button. With SSID Broadcast set to Off, only users who know the camera s serial number will be able to connect to this camera. 66 Version

67 Settings VIEVU Solution User Guide Multi-Docks This section provides information on managing the Multi-Docks in VIEVU Solution. For detailed information on setting up and managing a Multi-Dock network, refer to the VIEVU Multi-Dock Network User Guide. MULTI-DOCK NOTIFICATION SETTINGS Use the following procedure to have VIEVU Solution notify you by when a Multi- Dock goes offline. From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Multi-Docks. The Multi-Dock Management window is displayed. In the Status column, green means the Multi-Dock is online and functioning as expected. Red means the Multi-Dock is offline and needs your attention. Each of the Multi-Docks sends a status update every 30 minutes. After 2 consecutive status updates are missed, the indicator changes to red. If you want to be notified by when one or more of your Multi-Docks goes offline, click on the Enable notifications when MultiDock goes offline toggle to switch it to the On position. Enter the address where you want the notification sent. Click the Add button. Version

As soon as you click the Add button, the address you entered is added to the displayed list. In a few moments, an with content similar to the following is delivered to the address indicated. MULTI-DOCK MANAGEMENT Use the following procedure to check the status of VIEVU Multi-Docks and remove any leftover Multi-Dock names once the docks have been replaced. Once you have confirmed that a specific Multi-Dock is offline, use the following procedure to remove the Multi-Dock and eliminate its status from the list: Click on the X to the right of the listing you want to remove. A confirmation screen, similar to the following, is displayed to check your intention to remove a Multi-Dock. Click Yes, remove to remove the selected Multi-Dock. The Multi-Dock is removed from the Multi-Dock Management window. MULTI-DOCK SORTING Use the following procedure to change the order in which the columns on the Multi- Dock Management display information. From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. Version

Click on a column heading to change the sort order of the column. Use this method to sort by Status, Multi-Dock (host name), IP Address, or Firmware. Download Options Use the following procedure to choose between two video name export formats for VIEVU Solution. The options are as follows: FILENAME.extension (This is the default.) OWNER_FILENAME.extension The main difference between the two formats is the one file name format contains the OWNER name and the other does not. DOWNLOAD SETTINGS From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Download Options. The Download Options window is displayed. Click on one of the radio buttons to select the file naming format you want to use. Click Save. 70 Version

Date & Time Use the following procedure to choose between 24-hour and 12-hour time format for VIEVU Solution. DATE & TIME SETTINGS From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Date & Time. The following window is displayed. Use the radio buttons shown above to select either 24-hour or 12-hour time format. Click Save. Note: The camera s Date/Time now matches the system time. The cameras are automatically updated the next time a download is performed. Categories & Retention You assign a Category to an individual video or file based on the type of incident it covers. RETENTION EXTENSION FOR EVIDENCE The normal retention period for a video is derived from the category to which it is assigned. An additional Retention Extension period will override the category value until that override period expires. The Extend Retention functionality extends the category retention period to prevent the video from being automatically deleted. When the Extension Date has expired, the current category retention period will be applied. This is helpful in situations when a request is received for a copy of a video and the video needs to be retained until completion of that request. Previously, users had to use the Never Delete option and add a comment to delete this video later. That process becomes more cumbersome to manage with each additional video. The Never Delete option is still available in this release. This option prevents an item from ever being automatically or manually deleted. The Extend Retention permission setting controls whether this function is available for a user logged into VIEVU Solution. ADD/EDIT ROLE SCREEN To extend a retention period: The Retention Extension function is controlled by the Extend Retention permissions on the Add/Edit Role page. Version

The Extend Retention control allows users to enter a date, before which the item will not be automatically deleted. EDIT FILE/VIDEO DETAILS SCREEN Located on the Edit Details screen, the Extend Retention setting provides users with 3 options: o o o Off Automated deletion is determined by the category retention date. Choose Date Date that the evidence item cannot be deleted before (manually or automatically). Never Delete Automated or manual deletion of the evidence item is not allowed. 74 Version

75 Settings VIEVU Solution User Guide When you select Choose Date, an additional field is displayed as shown. Click the Calendar icon and select a date for deletion of this evidence. The deletion date, as determined by the selected category for the evidence item, is displayed beneath the Extend Retention field. The date shown in this text is adjusted to reflect whatever category is displayed in the Category field. When the category selection changes the category retention date changes also. When finished with your changes to the Edit File Details screen, click the Save button. EVIDENCE DETAILS SCREEN When you select a Deletion Date option on the Edit File Details screen, your selection is displayed on the Evidence Details screen. Version

You can use tags to search for similar video or files. ADD TAG From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Tags. A Results window similar to the following is displayed. On the upper-right corner of the Results window, click the Add icon. The Tag window is displayed as shown. A Default Category is used to automatically apply a category to videos that are uncategorized after 24 hours. This is useful for users who frequently apply the same category to their videos. All users who have permission to edit Settings will also have permission to manage groups. You can create a group, add or remove users from a group, or delete a group. CREATE A GROUP From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click the Groups icon. The Groups window is displayed. In the top-right corner of the Results window, click the Add icon. The Add Group window is displayed. Version

84 VIEVU Solution User Guide Settings Enter a name for the new group. In the Available Users field, click the Magnifying Glass icon to see a list of the current users on the system. Click the Add icon next to each user you want to add to the new group. When you are finished adding users, click Save. Note: Groups can also be used for sharing video and files with multiple users at once. Simply create a group that contains the users with whom you want to share the video/files. In general, you can manage groups using the same basic steps by which you manage users. Multi-Factor Authentication When this feature is turned on, a verification code is required to log into your VIEVU Solution account for each new device. Verification codes are sent via (default) or text message. ADD/REMOVE MULTI-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Multi-Factor Authentication. The Multi- Factor Authentication window is displayed. 84 Version

85 Settings VIEVU Solution User Guide Click the Yes/No toggle to switch between turning the authentication On and turning the Authentication Off. Click Save when done. The next time a login is attempted, a verification code will be required. You can have the verification codes sent either via (default method) or text message (if a phone number has been provided.) Enter the verification code received to complete the login process. The next time that user logs in from the same device, a verification code will not be required. Restrict IP By adding an IP address to the IP restriction table on the Settings page, the only computers that are allowed access are those with the public IP addresses listed. If no IP addresses are listed on the IP restriction table, all computers are allowed access to the VIEVU Solution. ADD IP RESTRICTION From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Restrict IP. A Results window similar to the following is displayed. Version

86 VIEVU Solution User Guide Settings In the top-right corner of the Results window, click the Add icon. The IP Restriction window is displayed as shown. Enter the Start and End of your IP Address range. To input the current IP address, click the Add Current IP button. When you are finished, click Save. Note: If an IP restriction is added, only computers with that public IP address will be able to access the system. Care must be taken to ensure that the IP address entered is correct or you may be locked out of the system. Contact VIEVU if you have any questions. EDIT RESTRICTION From the tabs at the top of the screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Restrict IP. A Results window (shown in the Add IP Restriction section) is displayed. Click the Edit icon next to the IP address range you want to change. Make changes to the start and end ranges of your IP address. 86 Version

From the left-side toolbar, click on Restrict IP. A Results window (shown in the Add IP Restriction section) is displayed. Click the Delete icon next to the restriction you want to remove. A confirmation screen is displayed checking on your intent to delete the selected restriction. Click Yes to confirm the deletion. Note: If there are no restrictions, all IP addresses can connect to the system. EXPORT RESTRICTIONS From the tabs at the top of the screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Restrict IP. A Results window (shown in the Add IP Restriction section) is displayed. Click the Export to Excel icon in the top-right corner of the Results window. A confirmation screen is displayed to check your intent to download the csv file. Click Yes to confirm the download. Tip: You can open the CSV format export with Microsoft Excel Access Token An access token is used to provide secure access to the VIEVU Solution system from software that does not require user authentication, such as the Multi-Dock. There is only one access token in use at any given time. RETREIVE ACCESS TOKEN From the tabs at the top of the screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Access Token. Your Active Access Token is displayed. Click Copy to Clipboard. You are now able to paste the token into programs such as the VIEVU Solution Connector for enabling the Multi-Dock. Tips: The Access Token allows for a secure connection from software without a User Login such as with the Multi-Dock. Version

88 VIEVU Solution User Guide Settings If Copy to Clipboard does not work, Java is not installed on the computer. Alternatively, you can manually select and copy the link. RESET ACCESS TOKEN From the tabs at the top of the screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Access Token. The Active Access Token window is displayed, showing your currently active token. In the top-right corner of the Active Access Token window, click the Change Access Token icon. The following confirmation window is displayed. Click Yes to regenerate your access token. Note: Resetting the Access Token prevents all software that uses the token from connecting. Active Directory & ADFS (This feature may not be available with your subscription.) Active Directory (AD) is a directory service that Microsoft developed for Windows domain networks. It is included in most Windows Server operating systems as a set of processes and services. Initially, AD was only in charge of centralized domain management. The VIEVU Solution AD Sync utility functions as a client application installed on a local computer which synchronizes your local Active Directory user accounts with the VIEVU Solution software. Once connected to Active Directory, you can choose to synchronize based on AD Group(s) or User Attribute(s), depending on how your Active Directory is structured. VIEW ACTIVE DIRECTORY SYNC & ADFS SETTINGS From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Active Directory. The AD Sync and Active Directory Federation Services windows are displayed providing current Active Directory information. The CAD RMS Sync window provides information on the last successful synchronization and prompts for the addresses to notify in the event of a synchronization failure. VIEW CAD-RMS SYNC SETTINGS From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on CAD-RMS Sync. The CAD RMS Sync window is displayed, providing information on the last successful synchronization and prompting you for the addresses to be notified in the event of a synchronization failure. Uncategorized Videos Notification Use the following procedure to locate videos in VIEVU Solution that have not yet been categorized. VIEW UNCATEGORIZED VIDEOS NOTIFICATION From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Uncategorized Videos Notification. The Uncategorized Videos Notification window is displayed as shown. In the Enable Uncategorized Videos Notification: field, click the Yes/No toggle to select whether to enable Uncategorized Video Notification. In the Video Has Been Uploaded for (days): field, enter the maximum number of days to wait before flagging a video as Uncategorized. The count of days begins when the uncategorized video is uploaded. In the Look for Videos Uploaded from: field, use the calendar to select a specific start date after which all videos should be categorized. For example, if you select Jan 1, 2017, all videos generated after that date and not yet categorized will be flagged as Uncategorized. Version

Software & Documentation The Software & Documentation icon on the VIEVU solution main page provides a simple method for accessing some of the key tools you can use to update camera firmware, install the VIEVU Solution Connector, or view and download any manual from the VIEVU Solution document set. VIEW VIEVU SOLUTION SOFTWARE & DOCUMENTATION From the tabs at the top of the VIEVU Solution main screen, click on Settings. From the left-side toolbar, click on Software & Documentation. The Software and Documentation window is displayed as shown. This window provides the options for the following: o o o VIEVU Solution Connector Installer Click to download and install the VIEVU Solution Connector. VIEVU Support Documentation and User Guides Click to visit the Safariland VIEVU website from which you can view and download any of the VIEVU Solution documentation. Camera Firmware Update - Click to visit the Safariland VIEVU website where you can view and download the latest firmware updates for any of the VIEVU cameras. Note: To ensure your camera is operating at its optimal efficiency and that you re getting the maximum benefits from the rest of your equipment, it is critical that you regularly update Camera and Multi- Dock firmware. 90 Version

Click the Permanently Delete icon next to the video or file you want to permanently delete. From the drop-down list, click Preferences. The options on the left-side toolbar are changed to include specific user preferences. From the left-side toolbar, click on Password. A special window is displayed as shown, allowing you to easily change your password. Complete the Current, New, and Confirm Password fields as described above. Note: Your selected password must be a minimum of 8 characters and must include both letters and numbers. The options on the left-side toolbar are changed to include specific user preferences. From the left-side toolbar, click on Security Questions. The screen displayed contains 3 security questions as shown. Select each of your security questions and enter the answers in the fields provided. Click and hold the Show Password icon at the left side of each field to view the typed characters. When you are finished, click Save Security Questions. An information window is displayed confirming that you have changed your security questions. Click OK. The user will be asked to select new security questions the next time they login. Account Lockout As a security measure, all accounts are locked down after five unsuccessful login attempts. If this happens, you ll receive an stating that this is the case. UNLOCK ACCOUNT If, for any reason, five unsuccessful attempts have been made to log into your account, you should receive an stating: Your VIEVU Solution account has been locked due to multiple password attempts. You can unlock your account by answering your security question. If these attempts were not you, contact your system administrator as your account may be at risk. Note: If you receive this and you have not made recent unsuccessful attempts to open your account, inform your system administrator immediately that this has occurred. To regain access to your account, you must answer one of your security questions (chosen at random) correctly.
