3 Introduction What s the issue? We've identified an issue with the Manage Performance Indicator Screen for England when dealing with AS Maths Qualifications. If you are an exam centre who are offering an AS qualification which for some students will count in the KS4 Performance Indicators and for some students count in the Performance Indicators and is either a Level 3 Maths or Extended Project qualification, the Manage Performance Indicator screen won't allow you to count the KS4 attributes when the Level 3 Maths or Extended Project options are ticked. How are we fixing this? This can only be fixed with a workstation application and does not require a database patch. In line with our approach for workstation patches since the Summer release, Workstation Patch 3 will have consolidated with it WSP2 (KS4 PI Report Update) and WSP1 (CTF Export Screen). Based on customer feedback, we now consolidate the Workstation Patches, so this Workstation Patch 2 (WSP2) also contains Workstation Patch 1 (WSP1). This workstation patch updates the following files in the SIMS.net folder (Files updated with WSP1 Files updated with WSP2): CTFUserInterfaces.dll ( ) rdlperformancedetailcurrenteng_ks4_2017.rdlc rdlperformancedetailcurrentengexport_ks4_2017.rdlc rdlperformancefulleng_ks4_2017.rdlc rdlperformancefullexporteng_ks4_2017.rdlc Pulsar.exe ( ) ExamUserInterfaces.dll ( ) There are two routes to fix this issue: 1) SOLUS3 - Apply the package SIMS Summer 2017 Consolidated Workstation Patch 3 Includes Manage Performance Indicator Fix (v ) This package contains a workstation fix. These notes do not cover how to use SOLUS3 or how to apply the fix via SOLUS3, please refer to the relevant SOLUS3 manuals and guidance. 2) Workstation Fix - For schools where using SOLUS3 is not possible, we have provided a workstation fix. Any workstation where a user who is needing to manage qualifications in the Manage Performance Indicator screen will need to apply the workstation fix. Will this be fixed be included in the Autumn 2017 release? Yes, it will. For additional help If you have any questions about the patch, please contact your SIMS Support Team in the first instance. Overview of the process 1. Ensure the school has upgraded to the SIMS Summer 2017 release. 2. Download the workstation fix. 3. Unzip the file contents and save to a folder where you can access them. 4. Copy the workstation fix to any SIMS workstation where the fix may need to be applied. 5. Run the update file. 6. If prompted, please re-start your computer. 3

4 Downloading Consolidated Workstation Patch 3 1. Check SIMS is version via the Help About SIMS.net. 2. Click on the following link to download the fix: 3. When prompted, open the zip file, this will open in a variety of different applications, it depends on what your computer uses to manage.zip files: 4. Extract and save the files from the zip archive to a location of your choice where it can be accessed by the SIMS Workstation, the password for this is: dbgtf9yqsvce While there is a folder for a database patch for WSP3, it contains no files. Running the Fix 1. On any SIMS workstation where the users will be running the PI Reports, locate the folder where you saved the SIMS-2017-Summer-Consolidated-WP3.EXE file. 2. Ensure that the user is logged out of SIMS.net. 3. Right click the file then select Run as administrator 4

5 4. The following window will appear: 5. Click Next to continue. 6. At the following window click on Next: 7. At the last step of the extraction wizard, click on Next once more. The files will now extract: 5

6 8. Once complete, click on Finish: 9. The fix has now been applied. 10. If prompted, please re-start your computer. 6
