3 1. About this document This document describes the process of how to migrate your live Schools Cash Office database to version 2.4. IMPORTANT: All SCO users must remain logged off during the live migration process. The migration must be left running uninterrupted. Please note that this can take several hours. It is recommended that the migration process is carried out during business hours so that Tucasi Customer Support Team can be contacted should you need to. You will require an online SCO administrator username and password to complete the live migration. 2. Creating an archive file Before proceeding with live data migration, we strongly recommend that you create an archive copy of SCO v2.3 data and store it in a separate, safe location on your network Creating an archive file On the Admin screen, select Archive management. Select Create archive. When asked Do you want to proceed, select Yes. Enter a title or reference in the Enter a title box, e.g. Pre-migration and a date. Click OK. When the archive processing is complete, click Close Saving the archive away from the sco server Navigate to the Archives subfolder on the sco server, e.g. sco\archives. Within the Archives folder, identify the folder that contains the recent archive. Note: the folder s name will begin with the current date e.g Copy the folder to another safe location on the network, away from the sco folder. Make a note of where the archive file is located. 3. Migrating Schools Cash Office to version Migrating the SCO server Download Schools Cash Office v2.4 on to your server machine which currently hosts Schools Cash Office v2.3, using the following link: SCO Live Migration to v September 2017 v2

4 Run the downloaded file and click Next. SCO Live Migration to v September 2017 v2

5 Click Run test to begin the speed connection test. Click Continue when the test has completed successfully. If the test fails, please click Retest. SCO Live Migration to v September 2017 v2

6 Enter your online SCO administrator username and password. Click OK. Click Next. Please read the following message. Click OK when finished. SCO Live Migration to v September 2017 v2

7 Please read the Licence agreement. Click I Agree when finished. Click Install to begin the installation. SCO Live Migration to v September 2017 v2

8 Wait for the installation wizard to install Schools Cash Office v2.4. When prompted, log in using your online SCO administrator username and password. Click OK. The migration will now begin. This can take several hours. Please do not exit the migration until it has completed. You will be unable to use Schools Cash Office v2.3 during this period. 9 3.2. Upgrading the client computer(s) Once the SCO database has been migrated on the SCO server, you can proceed to upgrade all the SCO clients. Note that you will need to repeat this process on each SCO client. Download Schools Cash Office v2.4 on to your SCO client computer using the following link: Run the downloaded file and click Next. 12 Click Install to begin the installation. Wait for the installation wizard to install Schools Cash Office v2.4. SCO Live Migration to v September 2017 v2

13 Click Finish when the installation has completed Upgrade Users Wizard After the migration has completed you will be prompted to configure Schools Cash Office users. The wizard will take you through amending current (legacy) user accounts and adding new Schools Cash Office users to the system. Note: Each user will require a valid Address to be set up as a 2.4 user in Schools Cash Office. It may be necessary for your IT Team to create additional school accounts if office staff currently share an address. SCO Live Migration to v September 2017 v2

14 3.3. Next steps There are some initial setup tasks that need to be performed, such as modifying existing SCO users. If you are using SCO Classroom Edition with Dinner money module you will also need to set up Teacher users in SCO before they can log in to the Classroom Edition. It is also recommended that you uninstall Schools Cash Office from the classroom computers as the SCO Classroom Edition is web based and can be accessed from the Internet browser via For more details on the initial setup tasks please see: 4.
