9 Product overview Product overview Spectrum Miner is a powerful predictive analytics solution that enables customer insight professionals to gain a clear picture of their customers for the purpose of predicting future behavior. Spectrum Miner utilizes powerful 3D data visualization and rapid modeling automation to uncover important data relationships and deliver propensity scores at the push of a button, boosting predictive model accuracy and increasing the speed of analytic results. 11 Release details File format support changes Spectrum Miner no longer supports accessing the following file formats directly when reading or writing third-party data: SAS SPSS DBASE GAUSS However, these formats can be accessed when using the vendor's ODBC drivers. For example, you can use the SAS ODBC driver with Spectrum Miner to import SAS data into Miner. Server support Spectrum Miner now supports Microsoft Windows Server Database support Spectrum Miner now supports Microsoft SQL Server Spectrum Miner

13 Installation considerations Upgrading to Spectrum Miner 8.0 When upgrading to Spectrum Miner 8.0, take note of the following notes and restrictions: Uninstall the previous client prior to installing the Spectrum Miner 8.0 client. Install Spectrum Miner 8.0 server to a different location on the server machine. Supported platforms Server/PC Description Analysis servers Spectrum Miner is predominantly a client-server application, however you can opt to install Spectrum Miner on a Windows desktop as a standalone application. If you go for the client-server option, the Spectrum Miner analysis servers are supported on the following platforms: Intel x86 and AMD64-based server systems running Microsoft Windows Server: 2008 R R2 SP All in either 32 or 64-bit versions. Spectrum Miner server runs as a 64-bit application on 64-bit operating systems and we recommend 64-bit for large scale analysis. Client machines The client end of the Spectrum Miner supports user interaction with the application from the user's desktop. The client operates as a 32-bit application on Intel-based PCs running these platforms: Microsoft Windows 7 (including 64-bit) Microsoft Windows 8 (including 64-bit) Microsoft Windows 10 (including 64-bit) The Desktop version of Spectrum Miner is supported on all of these platforms. It runs as a 64-bit application on 64-bit operating system and 32-bit application on 32-bit operating system. Spectrum Miner

14 Installation considerations Server/PC Description Database servers For data extract and write-back, Spectrum Miner supports efficient ODBC interfaces between the analysis server and an organization's RDBMS, data mart or data warehouse. The following databases are supported, typically hosted on a separate database server machine: Microsoft SQL Server: version 2016, 2008 R2, 2008 R2 SP1, and 2012 are supported, hosted on Windows servers. SQL Server connections are supported from Windows 2008/2012/2016 Servers, Spectrum Miner analysis servers with a suitable ODBC driver. Oracle: Spectrum recommends Oracle Instant Client driver (version 11.2 on Windows) which provides connectivity to Oracle 10g and 11g, hosted on any Oracle supported platform. Oracle connections are supported from any Spectrum Miner server platform. NCR Teradata: Spectrum recommends the Teradata TTU13.0 drivers are used with Spectrum Miner 8.0 which support Teradata versions V2R6.2 and above hosted on any NCR Teradata supported platform. Teradata connections are supported from any Spectrum Miner server platform. ODBC: version 3.51 supported from all Spectrum Miner server platforms to databases with appropriate native client ODBC drivers. Suitable ODBC drivers for all currently supported database platforms are available from the database vendor including Sybase ASE and IBM DB2 UDB. Statistical dataset: direct access to Microsoft Excel data format (reading all versions through Excel 2007 and writing version 2.1 files). This format is available from all Spectrum Miner analysis servers. Flat File: extensive support for importing and exporting data in ASCII flat file format (delimited and fixed-width) is provided. Supported languages Spectrum Miner 8.0 is available in English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Spanish. Spectrum Miner

16 End of life End-of-life features The following components are now or soon will be end-of-life and no longer supported: Spectrum Miner 5.x. Spectrum Miner's support policy includes support for two major releases (v6.x and v7.x). Customers using version 5.x or earlier should contact Spectrum Miner support for guidance on how to upgrade. Portrait Miner 6.x, Uplift 6.x and Optimizer 6.x. On March 31, 2018, Pitney Bowes is ending support of Portrait Miner 6.x, Uplift 6.x, and Optimizer 6.x. Spectrum Miner
