4 What's new in this Fix Pack? Satori Presort 8.00c (a.k.a. "SP17 Fix Pack 1") is a required release only if you are preparing Standard Mail Parcels and presenting your Shipping Services File. Presort will now populate the "Class of Mail" field in the Shipping Services File (pos ) with SA for Standard Mail and S2 for Standard Mail Non-Profit. Important: If you have not yet upgraded to Satori Presort 8.00c.17.00, you must do so before installing SP17 Fix Pack 1. 5 Installing SP17 Fix Pack 1 (8.00c.17.01) This section contains instructions to install the fix pack on Windows and UNIX machines. Installing the fix pack on Windows Install this fix pack onto every standalone machine, server, and Remote Views clients that run Presort. Do not install this fix pack onto Windows client machines in a Windows Server/Client configuration. When you extract the.zip file, the files will be placed in the subfolders shown here: Path Filename New size...ss\documentation\pst pst_rn_ss.pdf 536 KB...ss\documentation\pst pst_ug_ss.pdf 4397 KB...ss\pst presort.exe 3920 KB...ss\pst To install the fix pack: pstvws_ ss.chm 2466 KB 1. Make sure you are not processing any jobs and that you close Presort Views. 2. Download the fix pack according to the instructions in the you received from Satori Support that announces the fix pack is available. 3. Save the.zip file to the parent directory where Satori Presort is installed (e.g. C:\ss). Important: Do NOT install the.zip file into the \pst directory (e.g. NOT in C:\ss\pst). 4. Navigate to the directory where you saved the.zip file. 5. Right-click on the.zip file and click "Extract all." 3

6 6. At the Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folders screen, specify the directory where Satori Presort is installed (e.g. C:\ss), as shown: 7. You will be asked if you want to merge the folder. Click Yes for all folders. 4

7 8. When the following screen appears, click Copy and Replace for all files. The files will be placed in the appropriate directories as shown in the table above. 9. Verify the Presort version now reflects 8.00c by performing either of the following: From a DOS prompt, run presort /rev. Open Presort Views, go to Help > About Presort Views. The version number appears near the top of the screen. Click Engine Version. The Revision screen appears. Verify that the version number is the same as what appears on the About Presort Views screen. 10. Delete the.zip file from the \ss directory. 5

8 Installing the fix pack on UNIX and Linux Install this fix pack onto every UNIX or Linux machine that runs Presort. Make sure you are not processing any jobs and that all instances of Remote Server are stopped (if applicable). 2. Download the fix pack according to the instructions in the you received from Satori Support that announces the fix pack is available. 3. Save the TGZ or.tar file to the parent directory of where Satori Presort is installed (e.g. /<disk_n>/ss). Important: Do NOT install the file into the /presort directory (e.g. NOT in /<disk_ n>/ss/presort). 4. Navigate to the directory where you saved the file. 5. Extract the file using the ss directory as the destination (e.g. /<disk_n>/ss) using one of the following commands: For TGZ files: gunzip <filename>.tgz For tar files: tar xvf <filename>.tar The files will be placed in the appropriate directories as shown in the table above. 6. Verify the Presort version now reflects 8.00c From a UNIX prompt, run presort -rev. 7. Remove the TGZ or.tar file from the ss directory. 6
