1 v.1 Version Date: 02/14/17 Application: All Epic Applications Audience: All Epic Users at CHI Franciscan Health Epic: Accessing the CHI Franciscan Epic 2015 Playground Environment Market: CHI Franciscan Health For CHI Franciscan Health employees and affiliated providers and physicians who have completed Epic training, the Epic 2015 Playground environment is accessible via Citrix for users to practice and get familiar with Epic In order to access the Epic Playground environment (sometimes abbreviated as PLY ), please follow the steps detailed below. 1. Log into Citrix with your CHI user name and password. You must first log into Citrix to find the Epic Playground icon and launch the Epic Playground. What if I don t know my CHI user name or password? Call the CHI Help Desk, (253) Please see detailed steps starting on Page 2 for logging into Citrix. 2. Once you are logged into Citrix, log into Epic Playground with a STUDENT/TRAINING user ID and password. Your CHI user name will not work for logging into Epic Playground. Only a training user ID and password will work for logging into Epic Playground. Where can you find a training user ID and password for logging into Epic Playground? There are two sources: a. From the list in Appendix A, starting on page 7 at the end of this document. This list contains most of the roles/jobs of Epic users across the hospitals and clinics. The password will be train for all Playground logins. b. After April 17, 2017, the Classroom Information Sheets (aka Tent Cards) used in new hire Epic training classes will contain Epic 2015 training user IDs that you can use for logging into 2015 Playground for your role(s). Please follow the steps outlined in the following pages very carefully. You need to use the correct user name and password at each login step in order to successfully log into Epic Playground. 2 Detailed Steps for Accessing Epic Playground: Step 1: Launch Citrix WebApps (use CHI user name) Launching Citrix from Internet Explorer: 1. Launch Internet Explorer and enter the following web address (URL) to access the WebApps Citrix portal: You can also launch Citrix by clicking the Citrix link on the FHS.Connect home page, over on the right side of the screen. This will display the CHI Citrix / WebApps login dialog box. 2. Enter your CHI user name, password and domain into the Citrix login dialog box (note: Domain is Tacoma-wa for most CHI Franciscan employees, but some might have a domain of CHI ). Note: You must use only your CHI user name and password, and domain of Tacoma-wa (or CHI if applicable) in this login dialog box. You cannot use student/training logins here. Step 2: Navigate to the Epic Playground Environment Once logged into Citrix, click the Epic 2015 folder, then click the Training folder: Page 2 of 9

3 After opening the Training folder, you can access the Epic Playground by clicking on the FHSPLY Hyperspace icon: If you get the following pop-up message (at the bottom of the window), click the Open button: A Citrix window will pop up when connecting to the Epic Hyperspace environment: Page 3 of 9

4 Step 3: Logging into Epic Playground (use a Training user name) 1. A small Citrix window will show loading Hyperspace. 2. Once complete, you should see the Epic Hyperspace login screen. Enter credentials as follows: User id: Enter the training user ID from your tent card from training class, for example, FHS10130 (this would be the user name for an ED nurse), or from the list of training user names at the end of this document (Appendix A, starting on page 7). Do not use your CHI/FHS network user name for Playground. It will not work! Password: train (this is the password for all Epic training logins). The password is case-sensitive. This is a training user ID, for example, FHS10130 for an ED nurse. NOT your CHI/FHS network/ user ID. Note: There is a list of training logins at the end of this document that you can use for practicing in the Epic Playground. The list is in Appendix A, starting on Page 7. Page 4 of 9

5 3. If a default Department is not assigned to your training user name, click the magnifying glass icon to search for your appropriate department. Note: MOST training environment Departments are based in SJMC, not specific real departments (exception: Radiology). Please refer to your Tent Card from Epic training class for which training Department you should log into. This is a training environment, not the real production environment; you will probably not find any patients if you try to log into a real/known hospital department for St. Elizabeth hospital, for example. 4. After clicking OK, you will be taken to your appropriate Epic default dashboard (main screen in Epic). Example: Inpatient Physician: Page 5 of 9

6 Step 4: Logging out of Epic For security reasons, it is important that you establish a habit of logging out of Epic when you are finished with your session. You can click the Log Out button in the upper right corner of the window. This will take you back to the Epic Hyperspace login window, ready for the next user: Page 6 of 9
