On the one system still doing active tape processing, you will need to use the TMSUDSNB utility to update Control Record 1 (CTL#1) FLAG1 to indicate that Unique RNAME processing is to be used for this TMC. Run TMSINIT to re-init CA 1. When TMSINIT runs after CAS9 during startup, you should see the following message IEFTMS76 UNIQUE RNAME SUPPORT ACTIVE This indicates the TMSINIT has detected the FLAG1 bit is set on requesting Unique RNAME processing. The Unique RNAME that includes the TMC/Audit volsers and DSNs will be used for all RESERVE/ENQ activity on the TMC and Audit. CA 1 now resolves this conflict by filling in the next volume to be mounted via the Label Anomaly Exit until the end of the volume chain within the TMC is reached. When the exit is invoked, the IBM message IEC716I TAPE MULTIVOLUME LIST CORRECTED will be issued and the job will continue reading until the next EOV condition arises. This will then be repeated until an EOF condition is reached or the application stops reading the file. Only the first volume of a multi-volume dataset is read for input and the job abends. Not all volumes are read when multiple volumes expected. Code all volumes associated with the dataset in the VOL= JCL statement or allow the MVS/Catalog to supply the complete list of volsers. It is possible that the dataset is not CATALOG'ed to the system running CA 1 or TLMS and could be scratched prematurely. A manual update to the EXPDT is required without having this PTF applied.
