1 Work Instruction Sigma L1 Legacy Setup

2 PURPOSE This document is to guide the user with the setup and configuration of the Sigma Lite L1 legacy mode to work through the Sagem Engine Service. PREREQUISITES XTUpgrade V XTSagem Engine Service V MBTB Application Flash drive USB to Micro USB adapter MBTB INSTALLATION Get the Files The Sigma Unit needs to be configured through the Morpho Bio Toolbox. The Install files are located on the ftp site under Drivers and SDK s under XTime900 Current release. Copy the zip folder to the local PC and unzip the contents. Run the Install Double click on the MBTB_Setup_V3.0.0.exe: Click Next > Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 2 of 12

3 Click I Agree Select the Destination folder. If you want it to be located elsewhere, click on the browse button and select the new location. For the purposes of this document, we will accept the default file path. Click on the Install button Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 3 of 12

4 The installation will proceed: When complete, click the Finish button. CONFIGURING THE SIGMA UNIT Click on the desktop icon of the MBTB: Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 4 of 12

5 This will open the toolbox: Creating the configuration files Click on the Device Settings icon on the left: The following settings will display on the right on the Write request tab: Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 5 of 12

6 If the IP address is to be on DHCP (Not recommended) the following must be checked: Get IP Configuration: This will get the IP configuration from the device and populate this application when read from the flash drive. Change protocol configuration: Ensure that the L1 Legacy is selected: If the IP address will be static, and you know what it is, then the Set IP configuration must also be completed: Writing to the flash drive When all the settings have been selected, click on the Writ Usb Script button: If you have omitted to fill something in, the application will show a red!: Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 6 of 12

7 Once all the settings are correct, a browse window will appear where you need to select the drive where the configuration files are to be written: Click OK to write the files to this location: NOTE: It is advisable to use an empty flash drive. The following files will be written to the drive: Configuring the Sigma Unit Plug this flash drive into the sigma unit. Note that you will need a USB to Micro USB adapter cable as the Sigma only has a Micro USB slot. The Sigma unit will beep once The LED light will flash purple The fingerprint sensor will go on and then off You can remove the flash drive at this point. The LED will turn yellow when ready. 8 Getting the settings from the unit (DHCP) Plug in the drive to the PC. Click on the Read response tab: Click on the Read Result button: Select the drive to read from: Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 8 of 12

9 The settings will display on the screen. If the unit was set to DHCP, you will now be able to configure the IP address as per the previous step: LOADING FINGERPRINTS Using V which has XTime.Biometrics v , capture Sagem fingerprints as normal: If you are using an MSO300 (FINGER.TAKEON.TYPE = BIO+) An additional FG_Database 1 has been created for the Sigma Lite as it does not use the FG_DB 0 Sagem template: Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 9 of 12

10 If you are using a Secugen and saving Sagem (NOTE that a Sagem licence dongle or MSO300 enrollment unit must be plugged in) (FINGER.TAKEON.TYPE = BIO-) The fingerprints are now ready to be uploaded to the Sigma Unit through the Sagem Engine service: CONFIGURATION IN XTIME Configure the terminal in XTime: Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 10 of 12

11 Install and run the service V : Open the Dashboard to view the Sagem Engine transactions: The Sigma Lite reader will be Up and the fingerprint loaded for the employee (ensure that access has been allocated to the employee) EMPLOYEE TRANSACTIONS Clockings Clock on the Sigma Lite: The clockings will be displayed: Note that a clocking within 10 seconds of another will show as a duplicate clocking and only the first clocking will be registered Changing fingers Change the fingerprint by recapturing a different finger; The fingerprint will be removed and re-added. 12 Removing Access Remove the access group: The clocking with the Mst_sq indicates an unknown finger clocking so the finger has been removed. Work Instruction Sigma Lite L1 mode Page 12 of 12
