1 Installation Instructions (Catalog Number 6500-PS7TS, -ES) Release 2.02 The Pro-Set 700 Release 2.02 package contains these disks: Pro-Set 700 operator interface disks (2) Pro-Set 700 text files disk (1). This disk includes a backup of the Pro-Set 700 database backup screen text files Pro-Set 700 ladder logic disk (1) To avoid overwriting user files modified with Release 2.01, this installation program renames the existing ABPS700 directory (containing Pro-Set 700 Release 2.01) to ABPS installs Release 2.02 to the directory ABPS700. If you have modified the existing Pro-Set 700 database, you must have a current exported database file to add tags required for 2.02, and to convert tags for the new alarming system. In this document, we tell you how to export your existing Pro-Set 700 database. To install Release 2.02, you must perform the tasks listed in the table below:

2 2 Installing Pro-Set 700 Software Follow these steps to export the database. Refer to the Pro-Set 700 Reference Manual, publication , for more information on exporting the database. 1. Back up your current database. 2. At the operator interface command prompt, type Select option 1) Run Pro-Set Log on to security level 3. Refer to the Pro-Set 700 Reference Manual, publication , for more information on security levels. 5. Press the button. 6. Select the menu. 7. Select. 8. Type on the host computer keyboard. 9. At the ControlView command line, type DBEXP PS700 DATABASE_NAME where DATABASE_NAME is the name of the exported database to be created. The database file is exported in ASCII format to the \ACCESS\UTIL\ directory on the operator interface for editing. A.DBS extension is automatically added to the filename. 10.From the menu, select to exit from the software.

3 Installing Pro-Set 700 Software 3 Follow these steps to install the software. 1. Connect a keyboard and an external floppy drive. Refer to the Pro-Set 700 Operator Interface Installation manual, publication , for more information. 2. Apply power to the operator interface. 3. Select 2) Enter MS-DOS Environment. 4. Insert disk 1 of the Release 2.02 disks. 5. From the MS-DOS command line, type a:\install c: 6. Follow the screen prompts to install the software. After completing this portion of the install procedure, you must incorporate any changes you made to Release 2.01 into Release Place all user-created or modified.txt,.tdt,.tdb,.alm,.bmp,.ddt, and.ddb files into USER directories. Refer to the Pro-Set 700 Reference Manual, publication , for more information. Follow this procedure to install the ladder logic files supplied with the system. 1. From the MS-DOS command line, type a:\install c: 2. Follow the screen prompts to install the software.

4 4 Installing Pro-Set 700 Software If you exported your database earlier in this procedure, you must run the alarm conversion utility to remove the alarm bit tags from the exported database, and convert the alarm messages in the exported database to the new.alm file structure Refer to the Pro-Set 700 Reference Manual, publication , for more information on the alarm conversion utility. 1. From the MS-DOS command line, access the \ACCESS\UTIL directory. 2. Run the conversion utility from the MS-DOS command line by typing ALMCNVT FILENAME.DBS where FILENAME is the name of the exported database you created previously. The utility creates a new database file named PS7MODS.DBS, leaving your original exported database intact. The utility also creates these files in the \ABPS700\ALARM directory: PS7_1.ALM USER_1.ALM

5 Installing Pro-Set 700 Software 5 If you exported your database previously, you must add the new tags required for Release To merge the database, 1. From the MS-DOS command line, access the \ACCESS\UTIL directory. If a file with the name NEW.DBS already exists, delete it with the MS-DOS DEL command. At the MS-DOS prompt, type DEL NEW.DBS. 2. From the MS-DOS command line, type COPY PS7MODS.DBS DBS NEW.DBS where PS7MODS.DBS is the name of the converted exported database you created previously 202.DBS is the name of the file containing the new tags required for Release 2.02, and NEW.DBS is the name of the new merged database file to be created. Follow this procedure to import the merged database. 1. At the operator interface command prompt, type Select option 1) Run Pro-Set Log on to security level 3. Refer to the Pro-Set 700 reference manual, publication , for more information on security levels. 4. Press the button. 5. Select the menu. 6. Select. 7. Type on the host computer keyboard. 8. At the ControlView command line, type DBIMP NEW DBS200 NEW.DBS

6 6 Installing Pro-Set 700 Software 9. When the import process completes, press the button. If a directory with the name \ABPS700\DB\OLD already exists, delete it with the MS-DOS DEL command. At the MS-DOS prompt, type DELTREE \ABPS700\DB\OLD 10. Use the MOVE command to rename the existing database. From the MS-DOS prompt, type MOVE \ABPS700\DB\PS700 \ABPS700\DB\OLD 11. Use the MOVE command to rename the newly imported database. From the MS-DOS prompt, type MOVE \ABPS700\DB\NEW \ABPS700\DB\ABPS700
