The latest Adobe Engine for all products: Adobe is the core PDF, EPS, PS RIP engine for ONYX Thrive, ONYX ProductionHouse, ONYX PosterShop and ONYX RIP-Center Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) 4.8 release version Latest PDF engine and PDF normalizer Expanded named spot color handling (up to 127 simultaneous named color channels in a given region) Accelerated processing for complex patterns and soft masks Improved overprint handling Maintain named spot colors when using PDF files in proofing workflows Improved proofing with PDF workflows that include an output intent profile o APPE RIP option Ignore User Input Profiles - This option makes it possible to turn off all input color management settings in software and ONLY use embedded color management settings included in a given PDF o APPE RIP option Use Embedded Output Intent Profile This option is only used when a proofing profile is selected in color management setup and can be turned off to allow a user-defined profile even if one is included as part of a PDF ONYX ColorCheck: ONYX ColorCheck is a new process control toolset for evaluating various aspects of printing that also assists in implementing process control Module for ONYX Thrive Icon visible on the main toolbar of RIP-queue Build and configure printable swatches for various color verification conditions Print ONYX ColorCheck swatch for any print mode when setting up print conditions New job statuses for ONYX ColorCheck jobs in RIP-Queue Measure swatch jobs directly from RIP-Queue Immediately see verification status and basic reports Add custom notes to verification results in Job Properties Export detailed HTML reports for printing, sharing, and archiving Sortable columns in HTML reports Visible ONYX ColorCheck status prior to printing jobs ONYX ColorCheck tab in RIP-Queue displays detailed status information for current print modes Export and import ColorCheck swatches Copy existing ColorCheck Swatches

2 ONYX ColorCheck test environments include: Baselines o User-defined colors and tests o First reading sets a target baseline for future tests and measurements / Subsequent readings will test against original reading (Baseline) o Baseline tests are stored and included in the media OML for sharing o Baseline tests can be reset in Media Manager > Media Library G7 Process Control Master o Various tests with specific swatches defined for G7 Standards including: G7 Grays G7 Targeted G7 Color space o Can be set to report only, which will not update mode verification status Standards Simulation o Various tests with specific swatches defined for the different ISO standards including: Cgats TR Fogra ISO Including ISO Japan Color2011 Coated SWOP 2013 o Can be set to report only, which will not update mode verification status Print Gamut Verification o Dynamically generated swatches to test the ICC accuracy of a given print mode o Can be set to report only which will not update mode verification status Named Color Evaluation o Build custom swatches with Pantone, other named colors, and LAB measured colors o Reports are organized by categories and displayed in ranges of DeltaE <2, <5, and <10 o The test is a report only environment which will not update mode verification status New ONYX Color Engine with ICC MAX: New ICC build options o Hue Stabilization Option to help prevent hue shifts when mapping to a smaller gamut o Saturation boost option Increased saturation levels with perceptual rendering intents o Gamut Mapping Range Allows change for relative gamut mapping angle to consider out of gamut colors that may be closer but not on the same hue angle. The larger the value, the larger the range that can be searched Change to ICC build engine o Improvements to K ink usage and ICC modeling

3 Improved apparent smoothness Richer blacks and darker colors on textile and low gamut media o Improved accuracy of red and orange hue ranges o Changes to separations in expanded gamut primary color setups such as CMYKB, CMYKG, CMYKOB, and CMYKGB ICC Build UI simplification Updated ICC Build defaults PosterColor 2.0 o Proprietary, dynamic rendering intent that can be set in color management options o Smart CMM technology to dynamically map from the source to a CMYK output gamut, thus taking full use of available out of color range o Added smart mapping to extended gamut output such as CMYKOR, CMYKOG, etc. New Premium Coated color management preset (recommended for new defaults) Color Device Support o Barbieri qb device support o Updated Barbieri Gateway Software o Xrite i1 & io2 update Available strip mode for M1/M2 measurements ONYX AccuBoost: Optional iterative ICC build step for improved accuracy of color mapping of in-gamut colors AccuBoost is a new step in the media profile building process following original ICC Step is optional Options for a number of patches can be selected Once built, the new profile will become the default ICC for the given print mode Other New Changes: RIP-Queue UI o Ability to see a magnified nested preview o Large preview can remain open and be used on a second monitor o Rotate nest previews 180 degrees o More accurate representation of image placement and printed gutters o Improved preview when nesting for tandem-roll printing o Visible page size dimensions next to page size name in RIP-Queue o More responsive RIP-Queue UI o Tandem-roll nesting preview enhancement o Ability to run virtual printers with ONYX Thrive (key permission is required) o Conversion of named colors is more convenient under print mode named color replacement o Remembers last print mode in print mode named color setup tab ONYX Swatch Books o Search for named spot colors o Ability to include white and specialty inks when printing swatches o Improved preview accuracy Maintain named Spot colors when using proofing setup in color management Relative crop positioning/alignment option in Job Editor Use Step and Repeat textile function with contour cutting
