1 Online Software Portal Quick Start Guide for Users Online Software from Time Warner Cable Business Class
2 To relieve the burden and costs of Information Technology, Time Warner Cable Business Class offers Online Software to allow your company to focus on growing your business while enjoying the productivity benefits provided by IT. Gain fast, easy and convenient access to productivity tools from trusted experts including Microsoft, EMC and McAfee. Online Software features: Corporate-class with shared calendar and contacts Automatic and secure online backup for PCs Integrated PC security and desktop firewall Document sharing with full text search Business grade instant messaging Online, self-service management portal Convenient all-in-one billing Dedicated customer service In order to start using your Online Software services, follow these steps: 1. Setup your Online Software portal account by clicking on the link in the Welcome (page 3). 2. Create passwords for specific services (page 4). 3. Install and configure services (page 4). Requirements In order to access Online Software, your company administrator needs to first set up your account within the Online Software portal. If you did not receive the welcome referenced in the Initial Setup section, please contact your company s Online Software administrator. If you are the administrator, please see the Online Software Quick Start Guide for Administrators for details on setting up users and services for your company at In order to access the Online Software portal, you will need: Broadband Internet connection with minimum of 128kbps upload speed Web browsers: Internet Explorer 7.0 or Firefox 2.0 and above GSG Page 2
3 Initial Setup A welcome with initial login instructions will be sent once an Online Software account has been created for you by your administrator. Once you receive this , perform the following steps: 1. Click on the login link provided in the welcome You will be prompted to create an Online Software portal password. The password must contact 8 to 20 characters and at least one each of the following characters: capital letter, number and special character (e.g., *,!, &). 3. After entering the new password, click on SAVE & CONTINUE. 4. In the Terms and Conditions page, click on the Accept radio button and click on CONTINUE. You will be sent to your Home page. 5. You are now ready to set up services as described in the next section. GSG Page 3
4 Setting Up Services This section provides an overview of the set up activities required before you can start using a service. For detailed instructions, please view the Getting Started Guides for each specific application available under Setting Services - User in the Online Software portal home page. 1. Go to the Home page or login at Services that have been assigned to you by your company s administrator are listed in the My Services section. 2. Based on the service that you are setting up, you will have to set a password in Step 3 and/or install software in Step 4. Find your service in the table below and go to either Step 3 or Step 4. Service Step 3: Set Password Step 4: Install & Configure Microsoft Outlook Full Access Yes* Yes Microsoft Outlook Web Access Yes* No Microsoft Office Communicator Yes* Yes Microsoft SharePoint Yes* No MozyPro Yes Yes McAfee Total Protection No Yes *NOTE: If you have multiple Microsoft services, you only need to set your password for just one Microsoft service in Step 3. This password is valid for all other Microsoft services including any additional services that may be added in the future. GSG Page 4
5 3. Set Password: Click on the MY PROFILE tab in the main menu and select the My Services link. Click on the Change Service Password icon ( ) in the Actions column for the service you wish to set up. Create a password for the service. 4. Install & Configure: Certain services require you to download and install software as summarized in the table below. For details, view the Getting Started Guides available in the Setting Up Services User section of the Online Software portal home page. Service Start With Instructions Microsoft Outlook Full Access MozyPro McAfee Total Protection Microsoft Communicator Online Software portal home page Online Software portal home page, plus MozyPro Activation McAfee Installation Online Software portal home page 1. Click on the Outlook or Entourage link under Setting Up Services. 2. Follow instructions to install Outlook or Entourage. 3. For Outlook, click on Profile Connector Tool to download and install. 1. Click on MozyPro Client Download under Setting Up Services. 2. Follow instructions to install the MozyPro client. 3. When prompted, enter the license key in the activation When prompted, enter password created in Step After installation is complete, backup automatically starts. 1. Click on download link in the activation When prompted, enter your address. 3. Installation automatically starts. 4. Restart computer to finish installation. *Prior to installation, existing anti-virus and firewall software needs to be uninstalled. Contact your administrator if you have questions. 1. Click on Communicator Client under Setting Up Services. 2. Follow instructions to install Communicator. 3. Sign in with the user name that was created by your administrator. GSG Page 5
6 5. You are now ready to use the services that have been set up. There are several ways to access services that have been set up: a. On the Home page, click on the name of the service you wish to access under My Services, or b. Click on the MY PROFILE tab in the main menu and select the My Services link. Click on the Launch Service icon in the Actions column of the service that you wish to access. Still need help?
