2 Get ready to take your number with you You re used to it. Your friends are used to it. So why change it? When you switch to Vodafone, you don t have to change your number. We have a process that lets you bring your number with you (sometimes referred to as mobile number portability ) with the minimum of fuss. Any problems, just call one of the numbers below or pop into a Vodafone store. Need to know more? 3 3Prepare for transfer how to bring your number to Vodafone Whether you re paying monthly, or paying as you talk, you can bring your number with you to Vodafone. If you re a Pay monthly customer, the fi rst thing you need to do is check how long your contract has left to run. If it s not yet at an end, don t worry you can still transfer your number, but you may have to pay for any outstanding line rental first. The next step is to get hold of your Port Authorisation Code (PAC) You can get this from your current Provider (unfortunately we can t transfer your number to Vodafone until we have this). Once you ve asked your current Provider for a PAC, they have to accept or decline your request within 2 working days. Some Providers charge a fee to transfer numbers so it s best to check. Once you ve let us know your PAC, you can choose the date you d like your number to be transferred to Vodafone. The earliest date you can choose is 2 working days after you ve given us your PAC and it can t be more than 2 working days after your PAC expiry date. Remember your PAC is only valid for one calendar month from the date your PAC is issued so you must provide it to us during this time. After a month, if you still want to transfer to Vodafone, you will need to request another PAC from your previous Provider. If you ve arranged a transfer date more than 2 days in advance and it becomes inconvenient, we can move it but only up to 2 working days before the transfer is due to happen. So if your plans change, let us know as early as possible. Don t forget, once your number has been transferred to Vodafone, you are offi cially a Vodafone customer (hooray!). It also means that any services you received from your previous Provider will discontinue.

4 2What to do once you ve set it all in motion If you re keeping your old phone If you want to keep your existing handset, you may need to get it unlocked before you can use it on the Vodafone network. Just ask your current service provider for your Network Unlock Code. Transferring 26 numbers or more (for businesses) There are a few things worth noting if you need to transfer a bunch of business numbers: Your previous Provider must give you a PAC or a reason why it can t be issued within 10 working days of your request. Your PAC is valid for 30 calendar days and your request must be submitted to us within that time. We will agree a schedule for transferring your numbers within 10 working days of your request. Your numbers have to be transferred within 25 working days of the agreement of the transfer schedule.

5 Make sure you don t lose your contacts Don t forget, once your old SIM is switched off there will be no way of accessing any contacts that were saved on it, so it s important to make sure you don t lose all your contacts. There are several ways to do this, for instance, you could: copy your contacts from your old SIM straight onto your new phone store your contacts on your PC using a USB cable (which you get with some phones)e go to your nearest Vodafone retail store to use a SIM reader to copy your contacts (which works with most SIMs but not all best call your nearest store to check fi rst) simply write them all down.

6 1 The When it will happen big day and what to expect The transfer will happen between 11am and 4pm on the day you have chosen. Your checklist for the big day Don t forget to charge your new phone before your transfer date. If you re changing phones, don t forget to carry both phones with you on the day of transfer and have them both switched on! You will be able to make calls on the Vodafone Network by 11am on the day of transfer, but will only be able to receive calls once the transfer completes, which could be anytime between 11am and 4pm. During the changeover period you will still be able to make and receive calls on your old phone until the transfer happens. The old phone will stop working when the transfer has completed please be aware if you are using this phone it could happen during a call.
