Whe you isert the SIM Card, your device is desiged to switch automatically to global roamig mode.

3 Coectig to a CDMA or GSM etwork. You will receive a SIM Card oce you subscribe to a global service pla or feature from Verizo Wireless. The global features ad SIM Card allow your device to be properly cofigured for global roamig services, which eables you to access a GSM etwork. Whe you isert the SIM Card, your device is desiged to switch automatically to global roamig mode. I global roamig mode, your device is desiged to coect automatically to a appropriate CDMA or GSM etwork whe travelig. Whe the SIM Card is removed, your global device scas oly for CDMA etworks. If you switch betwee a CDMA etwork ad a GSM etwork, the phoe umber for your device remais the same. Makig a call. Callig iteratioally while i GSM mode. You ca tell that you are i a GSM market by a GSM or GPRS ico i the upper right-had corer of the display. 1. I stadby mode, press ad hold 0 to display the + symbol. (The + symbol automatically iserts the exit code for the coutry from which you are callig.) 2. Eter the coutry code of the perso you are callig (1 for the Uited States). 3. 4 BlackBerry 8830 World Editio Smartphoe iformatio. Isertig your SIM Card. Your SIM Card is a small, rectagular, plastic card that stores importat iformatio about your wireless service. To isert the card, please do the followig: 1. Press the battery cover release butto. 2. Slide off the battery cover. 3. If the battery is iserted, remove the battery. 4. Remove the SIM Card from ay packagig. 5. Hold the SIM Card so that the metal cotacts o the card are face dow ad the cut-off corer poits toward the lower-right corer of the BlackBerry device. 6. Slide the SIM Card ito the card slot util it stops. Oe ed of the SIM Card should be hidde uder the plastic casig o your device. 7. Isert the battery so that the BlackBerry logo faces up ad the metal cotacts o the battery alig with the metal cotacts o your device. 8. Try performig the followig actios: If you are tryig to coect to a GSM etwork, verify that your BlackBerry device is i global roamig mode ad that the SIM Card is iserted i your device correctly. Verify that you have tured o the coectio to a Verizo Wireless or Verizo Wireless/Vodafoe parter etwork. If you have specified a wireless etwork coectio speed, verify that you are i a wireless coverage area that supports the selected coectio speed. If you are tryig to coect to a CDMA etwork after roamig i a GSM etwork, verify that your device is i global roamig mode or 1xEV roamig mode. If you cotiue to have difficulty coectig to a CDMA or GSM etwork, a device reset may be required. To reset your wireless device, please remove the battery, verify that the SIM Card is correctly iserted, ad re-istall the battery o your BlackBerry device. I caot associate my device with a address. Try performig the followig actios: O the setup scree, verify that you have typed all the address iformatio correctly. Log i to the setup Web site o your computer ad add a address to your BlackBerry device. If you have already created a logi user ame ad password, use this iformatio to log i. If you have ot created a logi user ame ad password, click Create New Accout ad complete the istructios o the scree. To associate your device with a Microsoft Office Outlook or IBM Lotus Notes work accout, you must visit the BlackBerry Iteret Service setup Web site o your computer. If you are ot i a wireless coverage area, your device should sed/receive your messages whe you retur to a wireless coverage area. If you created a address or added a existig address to your device, verify that you have received a activatio message o your device from the BlackBerry Iteret Service (the message might take a momet to arrive). If you have ot received a registratio message from the wireless etwork, register your device. I the device optios, click Advaced Optios. Click Host Routig Table. Press the Meu key.
