1 Information about the Canadian Fetal Health Surveillance Education Program s Canadian Fetal Health Surveillance Online Manual and Exam Online Manual and Exam Self-Registration Instructions The revised Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) and the NEW FHS Refresher Programs contain the following components: 1) Review of the Fundamentals of Fetal Health Surveillance A Self-Learning Manual (available online) 2) Successful Completion of the Canadian FHS Online Exam To assist you in completing the online exam requirements, please note the following: Once paid for, you will have unlimited attempts to successfully complete the online exam. Cost of the exam is $30.00CDN and can be paid online using a valid credit card. See your local FHS contact to verify if bulk FHS exam access codes have been purchased by your facility or health region. The exam must be successfully completed within 30 days of your in-person workshop. You must provide a copy of your Certificate of Completion to your FHS Instructor prior to, or on the day of the in-person workshop (based on your Instructors preferences). 3) Attendance at an In-person Canadian Fetal Health Surveillance Educational Program Workshop This part of the programs is led by a FHS Instructor and focuses on practical skills and integrates the cognitive, behavioural skills needed to work in a team setting providing intrapartum FHS. The two FHS programs offered include the Fundamentals of FHS Workshop, which is an 8 hour workshop for beginners and novice health care providers who are new to intrapartum fetal monitoring or those who are interested in a more in depth FHS workshop; the FHS Refresher Program workshops are meant for clinicians in practice who have several years of experience in FHS including various methods of monitoring, fetal heart rate interpretation and clinical situation evaluation; the length of Refresher Courses will vary by institution. Please note: In-person workshop attendance is incumbent upon successful completion of the online exam. 4 Course Registration As of August 31 st, learners will have new options under Course Registration. They will have the option to: register for the online manual ONLY (for study or reference purposes; no access to the online exam and no certificate of completion) OR enroll in the FULL course and EXAM (includes access to certificate of completion) OR If the learner has been provided with an exam voucher from their employer, they will enter that information into the text box labelled pre-purchase exam voucher in addition to selecting the full course. 4 P a g e

5 If an incorrect voucher number is entered, the registrant will receive the following message. Contact information is located at the bottom of the form if a learner needs to contact UBC CPD about issues with a voucher number. 6 Payment Options Directly below the Course Registration section, there is a Payment Options section. If the learner selects the Online manual only or provides a voucher, they will be given a total of $0.00. If they are required to pay the $30.00, the screen will look like this: After the learner has selected the full course and either paid the registration fee or included a discount voucher, they will have access to the online manual and be able to access the online exam. 6 P a g e

7 How to access the Online Exam On the left hand side of the screen, there is a content menu. To access the online exam, click on Final Evaluation. Obtaining your Certificate of Successful Completion To obtain your certificate of completion, you must pass the online exam with 80% or more. Once you have obtained a passing grade, you will be prompted to complete the Final Evaluation Questionnaire which is a course evaluation. 7 P a g e

8 Once the Final Evaluation Questionnaire is complete, you will be able to access your Certificate of completion. After clicking on Certificate of Completion, you will be brought to another page where you will need to click Get your certificate. 8 P a g e

9 Once you have clicked Get your certificate, a certificate will pop up in a new browser window. YOUR NAME 9 P a g e

10 Download and Save your certificate of completion by clicking on the downward arrow. You will need to save your certificate in order to attach it to an to send to your Fetal Health Surveillance Workshop Instructor. You can also print a copy of your certificate of completion by clicking on the printer icon. Bulk Purchasing of Exams Organizations may choose to bulk purchase exams at a discounted price.
