2 Why Introduce a Diploma of Grain Management? GTA s objective is to educate stakeholders across the grain value chain from producer to end user GTA worked in conjunction with Rural Skills Australia to develop the Diploma of Grain Management An extensive industry consultation process was undertaken during the development This consultation process identified the need for an industry specific accredited qualification The diploma was approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) in October The diploma workshops commenced delivery in February

3 10514NAT Diploma of Grain Management GTA provides training to meet the needs of industry across the grain value chain - from producer to end user. To achieve the Diploma of Grain Management you must complete 10 units made up of 3 core units and 7 elective units. There are no prerequisites for any units. The completion of all GTA workshops will credit you with 3 core units and 5 electives leaving only 2 elective units to be chosen to make up the 10 units for the Diploma of Grain Management. Completion of the Authorised Officers course will be accepted as a credit transfer for one elective unit.

5 Assessment All GTA workshops have an online assessment Cost is included in the registration fee Assessment available upon completion of this workshop

6 Completing the Assessment Students will have 8 weeks to complete the assessment Each assessment task includes a number of activities and /or tasks to test the students knowledge and competency. GTA training uses a benchmark of 70% knowledge and skill level for a competent result. 7 Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Prior learning or industry experience recognised with evidence of competency relevant to the unit for which RPL is being sought Process enables the student to gain units without necessarily completing workshops Summary of units available on the GTA website RPL applications are bundled in lots of 3 units as a minimum RPL guide is on the GTA website and further information is available at training@graintrade.org.au

8 Enrolments and Learning Management System (LMS) A student login is sent to each participant on completion of the workshop When the student has received their login they will be required to download the assessment to their desktop/laptop for completion. Upon completion they will need to upload their assessment onto the LMS and submit. It would be estimated that the diploma would take approximately 3 years to complete. All student assessments and RPL evidence is accessed and uploaded through the LMS
