1 Helio 8 way light controller switching only 1/5 Product details general The LRC5038/10 (also known as 8LS switching only) is a LonWorks light controller with eight configurable outputs, two pairs of sensor interfaces for standards movement detectors, light sensors and IR receivers and two inputs for standard wall switches. Functionality and combination of sensors/switches depends of used device software. The light controller is LonMark compliant and can easily be integrated with other LonMark products. Each output has a 3-pole Wieland GST socket that provides Live, Neutral & Protective Earth for switching lighting loads up to 4A. Luminaires with pre-wired flying leads and Wieland GST connector are plugged directly into the outputs. One small neon lamp is provided on the hosing top to indicate power. A LED is provided to indicate the status of the unit. Mains is connected to the unit by Wieland GST socket or T-branch connector for looping through. The twisted-pair bus cable is screw connected to a 2 pole Wieland plug (loop-in/loop-out) and plugged into a bus input socket at the front of the unit. This plug is supplied with the unit. Commissioning software Unilon and Helio application software or another LNS TM tool with Helio LNS TM Plugin software is used to configure the sensor and switch functions in each interface and link them to individual outputs in any light controller. The functionality of the connected luminaires is defined by setting the control parameters of each output. The unit s neuron ID is registered in the software by pressing a service pin on the housing front. Neuron ID s are also printed in bar-code and hexadecimal characters on two stickers placed on the unit. This allows ID registration by bar-code scanner or keyboard. Dimensions in mm Sensor & push-button interfaces Each of the two sensor interfaces consists of 2 modular input sockets (RJ12) for conventional sensors. Under Applications different functionalities are described (different versions of device software). Thus combination of sensors depends on device software (see also figure on page 3 on input sensor wiring). The light controller has two input sockets for normally open push-button switches. The switches are connected with lowvolt 3-core cables and 3-pole Weidmuller plugs (type BLAT 3/SNOR not supplied with the unit). Each socket has two digital inputs for separate switches one to switch lights on and one to switch lights off. Any number of wall switches can be connected in parallel to the digital inputs. It is also possible to configure both digital inputs for toggle on/off switching (not dimming) with one wall switch.

3 Helio 8 way light controller switching only 3/5 Input sensor wiring Four RJ12 sockets are supplied for connection of sensors from the Philips range. These may be used to connect several sensors by use of the Philips branching connector LCC8024*, however combinations of sensors must be connected as shown below. Warning: combination of sensors depends upon used application software. *Note: Depending upon positioning, the branching connector (LCC8024) may obstruct the other inputs as the inputs are adjacent to each other. This can be overcome as follows: - Connect male/female cable to input (LCC8012 5m), connect branching connector (LCC8024) and then sensor cables (LCC8014 5m or LCC8011 1m) to sensors; - Connect male/male cable to input (LCC8014 5m or LCC8011 1m) and use female/female branching connector (6 pin) standard available in the market, and then to sensors as first option. Each luminaire has been assigned a load factor based on its inrush characteristic, this is a limiting factor in conjunction with continuous load current, of 4 amps per output By utilising the table, any combination of luminaires can be determined by totalling their combined load factors. 6 Supp. 1/10 Overview This chapter gives an overview of the functions available in the LRC5038/10 lightcontroller, having different kinds of software. Lightcontroller device software Three versions of device software have been developed specially for the LRC 5038/10 light controller. Lighting only version: ideal for simple light switching applications and replacing old IFS systems. This software contains the following objects: - 4 Movement Detector objects - 4 three channel Infrared switch objects - 8 Light controller/actuator objects Integrator version: ideal for integration with HVAC and sunblinds systems. This software contains the following objects: - 4 Movement Detector objects - 4 Infrared channel objects - 4 Blinds channel objects - 4 Temperature sensor objects - 4 HVAC operating objects - 5 Light controller objects - 8 Actuator objects French Integrator version: made on specification of French sales organisation. Especially made for integration with local partners. This software contains the following objects: - 2 Switch objects - 4 Integrated Infrared objects (for operating Lighting, HVAC and blinds) - 5 Light controller objects - 8 Actuator objects Occupancy objects The unit has four occupancy objects in which the heartbeat and holdtimer can be configured. Infrared control Number of objects: Lighting only 4 Integrator version 4 French Integrator version 4 Group setting: Lighting only A - G and General Integrator version A - G and General French Integrator version A - G and General Number of inputs: Lighting only 3 Integrator version 1 French Integrator version 3 For Integrator version and French Integrator version: The Temperature object provides the value, measured by the IRT8055 temperature transmitter. By means of the HVAC operator object the user can: set the HVAC mode (absent/present) modify the temperature set-point control the fan speed By means of the Blinds object the user can control the blinds. Manual control Number of inputs: Lighting only 4 (toggle) Integrator version 4 (toggle) French Integrator version 2 (on/off separate) or 4 (toggle) Energy measurement In the Lighting only version Energy management is included. The unit calculates the time outputs have been switched on. To retrieve this data an external tool is required. Load shedding The French integrator version includes load shedding. Each of the 8 actuator objects can be selected for load shedding via a configuration property (UCPT) on each object. Power-up behaviour The Lighting only and Integrator version include power-up behaviour selectable between ON or OFF via the UCPTPwrUp configuration property on each object. Out of the box functionality The LRC5038/10 is factory pre-programmed with the functionality described below. This functionality will be available until the unit is re-configured through the network. * IR receivers and/or Movement detectors can be connected. There are three functionalities, depending on the connected sensors. IR remote control only Movement Detections only IR remote control, combined with Movement Detection IR remote control only When only IR receivers are connected four areas can be controlled separately. In each area two groups of light can be switched separately (two outputs). Four sensors for different areas can be connected to the four numbered sensor inputs (1,2, 3 and 4). To the four different inputs four IR Group addresses (A, B, C and D) are assigned: Input 1, Group address A Input 2, Group address B Input 3, Group address C Input 4, Group address D To each of the four combinations two IR Channel addresses (1 and 2) are assigned, one for the first output, one for the second output: IR A1 switches output 1 IR A2 switches output 2 IR B1 switches output 3 IR B2 switches output 4 IR C1 switches output 5 IR C2 switches output 6 IR D1 switches output 7 IR D2 switches output 8
7 Supp. 2/10 Movement Detection only When only Movement Detectors (MD) are connected four areas can be automatically controlled separately. The lighting in these areas will automatically switch on when movement is detected. When no movement is detected anymore and the set delay time has expired, the lighting will be switched off. This delay time is set on the Movement Detector (15 minutes). Four sensors for the different areas can be connected to the four numbered sensor inputs (1,2, 3 and 4). MD 1 switches output 1 and 2 MD 2 switches output 3 and 4 MD 3 switches output 5 and 6 MD 4 switches output 7 and 8 IR remote control, combined with Movement Detection With the addition of Movement Detection to IR remote control the lighting in the four areas has to be switched on manually (IR) and will switch off automatically when no movement is detected anymore and the set delay time has expired. This delay time is set on the Movement Detector (15 minutes). When somebody enters the area the lighting will be switched on automatically again, but when it was switched off manually it has to be switched on manually again. A multi-sensor (LRI8133/10) has both an IR receiver and a Movement Detector. Four multi-sensors for the different areas can be connected to the four numbered sensor inputs (1,2, 3 and 4). The outputs will not switch on, on power-up anymore when: a connected Movement Detector initiates a switch OFF ** with IR remote control ALL OFF has been sent *** * The out of the box functionality can be re-instated by holding the service pin for 10 seconds after cycling the mains power. ** At power-up outputs will switch on if a Movement Detector is connected. When no movement is detected the outputs will be automatically switched off after the set delay time. *** When for testing not ALL OFF but Channel x on/off is used the initial power-up behavior will continue to exist.
