1 Service Manual for EC-II countin scale Ⅰ. Phenomena of trouble 1) Trouble of part The trouble phenomena are as followin: a) Buzzer-----buzzer doesn t make sound, or sometimes make sound and sometimes doesn t make sound. b) LCD-----The display is faultily. c) Backliht-----The backliht doesn t lihten, or sometimes it lihten and sometimes doesn t lihten: d) Key -----The key don t work. 2) Trouble of load cell The trouble phenomena are as followin: a) The display data is driftin. b) The display data doesn t chane, or the internal resolution value is not in the natural rane. c) The internal resolution data drift badly. d) The initial resolution is driftin. 3) Trouble of power supply The phenomenon is as followin: The scale doesn t work or the low voltae symbol comes out after turnin on. 4) Trouble of the PCB The phenomena are as followin: a) Trouble of display board-----the display is abnormal, or shows nothin. b) Trouble of main board There is nothin in the display when turn on the scale. The scale can not be powered on. The weihin is unstable. The internal resolution is out of the normal rane. c) Trouble of RS-232 board-----the scale doesn t transmit any data.

2 Ⅱ. To solve the trouble 1.The scale can not be powered on Scale can not be powered on. Connect the scale with AC power. Check if the AC liht is on. The output voltae of L7808 is 8V. L7808 is damaed, replace it. Check the output voltae of adapter is about 17V. Check if there is power output from the audion T5. The audion T58550 or T is damaed. The AC jack (for adapter) is damaed, replace it. The adapter is damaed. Please replace it. Check if the voltae value between the pins of oscillator CR1 is 0.20v. Replace the CPU. The oscillator is damaed. Replace it. The problem is in main board, replace it.

Take off the CPU, clean it and fix well aain. Check the main board. The 16 cores wire is damaed. The display can work normally. Chane oscillator. the Check if the Reweld the pins. voltae value between the pins of oscillator CR1 is 0.20v. Replace the CPU. Reweld it. The pins of LCD are welded bad. The driver of display board is welded bad. The main board is damaed. Please replace it. Chane the LCD.The problem can be The LCD is damaed.

4 3. Press the keypad the scale can not work: The scale can not work when pressin the keys. To short-circuit the keypad. The membrane keypad is damaed. Chane the 16 cores wire. The 16 cores wire is damaed. Chane the CPU. The CPU is damaed. Chane the 40 cores socket or RX2.

5 4. Weihin is inaccurate or instable: Weihin is inaccurate or instable. Check if the workin environment is stable. The voltae value is normal. The battery voltae is less than 5.4V Rechare or replace the battery. Chane to a stable place. To use the scale when the voltae is normal. There are somethin touch the pan or up-supporter. Move away the eyewinker. Recalibrate the scale. Chane load cell and recalibrate. The load cell is damaed. Chane the main board and recalibrate.

6 5. The display is incomplete or exceptional: The display incomplete or exceptional Chane the 9 cors wire. The 9 cors wire is damaed. Chane the display board. The problem is in Check if all the pins display board. were welded bad. Reweld them. The problem is in main board. Chane the LCD. The LCD driver module was damaed. The LCD was damaed. Replace HT1622.

7 6.RS232 don t transmit any data RS232 transmit data. don t any Check if the settin of transmit method or baud rate is matchin with the printer or PC. Check the voltae of the 7 pins of of the input pin of the RS232 socket is around 10V. Check the voltae the U1ADM 202EA is 5V. Check the 3-cores cable is livin. Replace 3-cores cable. the Correct the settin. The socket is damaed, replace it. Re-solder the U1. The trouble can be Replace the U1. The voltae balance between the pins of the Crystal Oscillator (CR1) is around 0.20v. The Crystal Oscillator is damaed. Replace it. Replace the CPU, and the trouble can be ote: Since this series of balance is with hih precision, it is very easy to be affected by clime and temperature. Sometimes the scale has the followin phenomena: 1) Weihin is inaccurate. solved by re-calibration. 2) After self-check, the display shows error messaes. E1: Re-calibrate the scale to solve it. E3: Re-calibrate the scale or replace the load cell to solve it. 3) If any one of main board and load cell is chaned, the scale must be recalibrated.

8 III. Calibration procedure 1. Switch on. Press to enter into Calibration mode durin self-checkin. If the display shows as below, it means the scale hasn t be calibrated or data lost. Then press ETER key to enter into calibration value settin. EGATIVE Local Remote COUT 1.2.2If there is no need to chane them, press SMPL key to do the calibration directly. ote: If the remote platform is required to be calibrated, press REMOTE key to enter into remote platform calibration. REMOTE indicator will be on.(default one: Local platform) 2. Check Internal Resolution When display shows as below: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT HHHHHH EGATIVE Local Remote ET K Ib HI OK LO COUT Random number Internal resolution

9 Press SET key to check the current internal resolution. Display shows as below: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT 0 CAL Put on more weiht. ET K Ib HI OK LO EGATIVE Local Remote COUT Current Internal resolution WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT CAL EGATIVE Local Remote ET K Ib HI OK LO COUT Increasin Internal resolution Total Internal resolution Weiht window shows the increasin internal resolution, Count display window shows the total internal resolution which equals to oriinal one and the increasin value. Press SET key aain to back to calibration mode. 3. Chane and choose the unit, resolution, accuracy, capacity and weiht value for calibration by pressin the MOVE key and the ETER key.the steps are as followin: 3.1 Default settin value(user settin and Calibration settin value): * df no : Defaultin settin is released, * df es : Every settin is setup in default The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT no df ET K Ib HI OK LO EGATIVE Local Remote COUT Current Internal resolution

10 3.1.2 Press MOVE key to chane the value. (yes, no) Press ETER key to confirm and enter into next settin. 3.2 Choose unit value(usa version): The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT k Unit ET K Ib HI OK LO Press the MOVE key to chane the value. (k, Ib) Press the ETER key to confirm and enter into next step (Choose Resolution). 3.3 Choose Resolution value: The display shows: EGATIVE Local Remote COUT WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT HHHHH res ET K Ib HI OK LO EGATIVE Local Remote COUT Use the numerical keys to enter the resolution value. (Resolution rane: 3000~75000) Press the ETER key to confirm and enter into next step (Choose accuracy).

11 3.4 Choose accuracy value: The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT 1 d ET K Ib HI OK LO Press the MOVE key to chane the value. (1,2,5) Press the ETER key to confirm and enter into next step (Choose capacity). EGATIVE Local Remote COUT 3.5 Choose capacity: The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT HHHHH H CAP ET K Ib HI OK LO Press the MOVE key to chane the value( move the dot position) Press the ETER key to confirm and enter into next step (Enter zero point ). 12 3.6 Enter zero point: The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT HHHHH CAP ET K Ib HI OK LO Use the numerical keys to key in the zero point( 0 ). EGATIVE Local Remote COUT Press the ETER key to confirm and enter into next step (Enter the first calibration value ). 3.7 Enter the first calibration value: The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT HHHHH H CAP ET K Ib HI OK LO EGATIVE Local Remote COUT Use the numerical keys to key in the first calibration value Press the ETER key to confirm and enter into next step (Enter the second calibration value )

13 3.8 Enter the second calibration value: The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT HHHHH CAP ET K Ib HI OK LO EGATIVE Local Remote COUT Use the numerical keys to key in the second value for calibration Press the ETER key to confirm and enter into next step (Enter the third calibration value ). ote: If only one weiht value for calibration is needed, Press SET key, the WEIGHT display window will show End.Then press ETER key to back to 1.2 of step1 without savin the second calibration value. 3.9 Enter the third calibration value: The display shows: WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT HHHHH H CAP ET K Ib HI OK LO EGATIVE Local Remote COUT Use the numerical keys to key in the first calibration value Press the ETER key to confirm and back to 1.2 of step1. If only two weiht values for calibration are needed, Press SET key, the WEIGHT display window will show End. Then press ETER key to back to 1.2 of step1 without savin the third calibration value.

14 4. Calibration Mode: Press SMPL key to do the calibration. The unit weiht window shows 00, and the value HHHHHH in weiht window blinks. Several seconds later,the unit weiht window shows 01,and the weiht window shows the weiht value (the first calibration value). Put on the weiht refer to the display. Press SMPL key to confirm. If SET key is pressed in step 3.8, press SMPL key, calibration is finished and back to normal mode. Several seconds later,the unit weiht window shows 02, and the weiht window shows the weiht value (the second calibration value). Put on the weiht refer to the display. Press SMPL key for determination. If SET key is pressed in step 3.9, press SMPL key, calibration is finished and back to normal mode. Several seconds later,the unit weiht window shows 03,and theweiht window shows the weiht value (the third calibration value).put on the weiht refer to the display. Press SMPL key to confirm. Several seconds later,the scale return to countin modle.then the caliberation procedure is finished. Switch off, and take off all the weiht, then swithc on, the scale can be used. ote: If the scale hasn t be calibrated yet, value in weiht display window is random data except unit and accuracy. On the contrary, value in weiht window should be calibration data or last keyed in ones.

15 Simple calibration without weiht 1. Turn on the scale, and key in durin countin down (self-check) to zero to enter into Simple Calibration mode. The displays will indicate as below. Press MOVE key to choose the taet platform(local or remote). WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT CAL local ET K Ib HI OK LO Then press ETER key for determination and enter into calibration mode. EGATIVE Local Remote COUT 2. The default dettin is 1/3 capacity(take 6k scale for instance) WEIGHT UIT WEIGHT COUT Unit ET K Ib HI OK LO EGATIVE Local Remote COUT ote: The weihin unit for Local platform is, while the unit for Remote platform is k. 3. Put a weiht on the pan same as what exactly shown in the UIT WEIGHT window, then press the ETER key to confirm the operation. The displayed readin in the UIT WEIGHT window starts blinkin.the scale will stop blinkin and return to normal countin mode. Calibration is now completed. ote: Press CLEAR key to escape from calibration mode at any time. Chane calibration value After enterin the third step, press MOVE key. Use numeric keys to input a calibration value r( ~ ). Press ETER key to confirm, then the calibration is finished. When the scale was calibrated in Country A, and it is used in Country B, the error coefficient (R) should be: R=ravity value in Country A / ravity value in Country B
