6 6 PLUG-AND-PLAY INTEGRATION Ventacity HRVs, ERVs and building smart sensors provide plug-and-play integration, allowing a wide variety of standards-based HVAC equipment to be automatically detected and added to the HVAC 2 Platform, dramatically reducing installation and system integration time. Ventacity makes it easy to control everything without expert assistance. Plug it in, flip on the power switch, and start managing your building s environment while saving valuable time and money. WE MAKE SMART EASY Every powerful system needs to be easy to use. That s why HVAC 2 has a three step integration process. Smart Start When you install a Ventacity HRV system, the Smart Start feature automatically connects equipment and sensors to the Ventacity HVAC 2 Smarter Building Cloud Services (SBCS) provided that at least one piece of equipment has the Ventacity HVAC 2 Smarter Building Gateway (SBG). On power up, the SBG automatically connects to the SBCS, creating the HVAC 2 Smarter Building Platform over a secure, virtual private network. Smart Connect The Smart Connect feature automatically connects a building s HVAC equipment into a complete system. After Smart Start, HVAC 2 scans the building and automatically detects the growing list of HVAC 2 -Certified products, linking them into a single, easily-managed system. Currently, HVAC 2 -Certified products include Fujitsu Airstage VRF systems, Ventacity s full line of HRVs and ERVs, Rickard Smart Dampers, Monnit Wireless Sensors, LabJack Data Acquisition and Control devices, and WattNode power meters. Smart Configure The Smart Configure feature automatically programs the complete system s operations. After Smart Start and Smart Connect, the HVAC 2 Smarter Building Platform downloads preconfigured operations profiles from the SBCS onto the SBG. The SBG then configures each of the HVAC 2 certified products, easily enabling controls integration.

7 7 ONGOING OPTIMIZATION The HVAC 2 Smarter Building Platform enables every building to operate at peak efficiency throughout its lifecycle by measuring ongoing performance on a 24/7/365 basis. Built-in artificial intelligence allows the system to aggregate building information and perform a wide variety of analyses. Predictive Failure Analysis detects early signs of impending equipment failure, and Dynamic Building Modeling can review a building s thermal properties, external environment, and usage patterns to determine optimal building health, comfort and efficiency. When performance anomalies are detected, notifications can be sent to users indicating needed, proactive actions to be taken.
