5 Mining Lab Mining Lab is a program in partnership with start-ups to encourage open innovation and entrepreneurship towards seeking solutions for our operational challenges. In 2018, Nexa is rolling out the second edition of the Mining Lab program, in search of projects with innovative solutions for challenges associated to Logistics, Industrial Automation, Internet of Things / Information Technology, Circular Economy and Mineral Concentration. For further information, access: mininglab.nexaresources.com Digital Mining We have implemented an automation project on our mine sites, focused on improving working conditions, making operations safer, and also increasing productivity, thus optimizing the use of assets and contributing to operational continuity. In our Morro Agudo zinc underground mine in the municipality of Paracatu, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, we have implemented remote blasting from the surface, thus eliminating the need for on-site underground labor in this activity.
