You must use the ReadMe file to istall ODI Please read the etire ReadMe file before proceedig. 2 Oracle Data Itegrator Cosole Issues ad Workarouds This sectio cotais iformatio o the followig: Sectio 2.1, "Oracle Data Itegrator Cosole Page Task Flow Resets whe Aother Tab is Closed" 2.1 Oracle Data Itegrator Cosole Page Task Flow Resets whe Aother Tab is Closed Whe a tab cotaiig a page is closed i Oracle Data Itegrator Cosole, all the tabs after this oe reset their task flows (the avigatio actios that were made). The pages i these tabs reset to the origial object that was opeed. This ca be cotrolled by limitig the 'maximum umber of sessios' i the Aget cofiguratio. [ ] 3.2 After Providig Icorrect Export Key, Caot Import Master or Work Topology Whe importig a master or work repository, the import dialog prompts you to eter the Export Key used whe the repository was exported. After eterig the icorrect key three times, a dialog is show which suggests you ca import the repository without cipher text. Selectig this optio ad clickig OK fails with the followig error: ODI-3049:exceptio while importig master_ecr.zip. Whe a datasource is icluded i a Java EE Aget template that has bee geerated usig Oracle Data Itegrator Studio, this template fails to deploy, ad raises the followig exceptio: com.oracle.cie.wizard.wizardcotroller - Ucaught Exceptio 2

[ , ] 4.2 Maximum of 1000 Objects i a Folder Whe more tha 1000 objects are i a folder, markers added to ay of the objects i the folder will ot appear. [ , ] 4.3 Latest Sceario Behavior Differet Depedig O Cotext Whe refreshig a Load Pla to pick the latest Sceario referece i the Load Pla, the latest sceario is determied by the Sceario Creatio timestamp. However, durig ODI aget executio, the latest sceario is determied by the alphabetical ascedig sort order of the Sceario Versio strig value, selectig the last Sceario i the list. [ ] 4.4 Load Pla Ca Hag Uder Certai Network Iterruptio Coditios Whe a load pla is beig executed across multiple agets, the aget logic relies o dbms_lock to be released by a database i the evet of a cliet coectio disruptio. However, if the cliet coectio is discoected due to a etwork error which prevets the aget from receivig a database lock release, the load pla executio may be stuck blocked i a lock acquisitio request. As a workaroud, cofigure the database level property sqlet.expire i the sqlet.ora file to 1 miute, or some other relatively short period. This settig forces the database to check for cliet coectio validity periodically, so that i the evet of a discoectio the dbms_lock ca be released withi a few miutes rather tha hours. Releasig the dbms_lock allows the load pla to complete or fail i a timely maer rather tha hagig. [ ] 4.5 Structure Pae Does Not Display Ope Mappig After Selectig Items i Desiger Navigator While a mappig is displayed i the structure pae, clickig o other items i the Desiger Navigator tree causes the display to go blak, as expected (because these items have ot bee loaded). However, selectig the ope mappig i the tree does ot cause the display i the structure pae to re-draw the ope mappig. To view the ope mappig i the structure pae after it has bee blaked, select the ope mappig tab. [ ] 4.6 Attemptig to Ru a Desig Object o a Dow Aget Leaves Sessio i Wait State Whe a desig time object is directly executed o a remote aget from ODI studio, if the remote aget is dow at that momet, the the sessio is left i waitig state ad the Physical Aget will be set as Local (No Aget). The sessio will be marked as stale sessio whe the remote aget comes up. You ca safely delete this stale sessio ad try agai with a aget that is up ad ruig. [ ] 4.7 Mappig Editor Display is Not Arraged Properly whe May Coectors Exist Tracked variables are ot displayed i the Variables ode i the Sessio List i the Operator Navigator. However, the variables ca be viewed i the Variable ad Sequece Values sectio of the Sessio Step or Sessio Task Editor. [ ] 3

4 4.8 Duplicated Model Diagrams Cotai Datastores with Paret i Origial Model After creatig a diagram for a model cotaiig oe or more datastores, if the model is duplicated usig a shortcut, the ew duplicated model cotais the diagram with the datastores. Selectig a datastore causes it to be opeed i the origial model, rather tha i the duplicated model. [ ] 4.9 Uable to Save a Mappig After Materializig a Datastore Shortcut Refereced i the Mappig After materializig a shortcut for a datastore, ope mappigs usig this datastore fail while savig ad the followig error is displayed: ODI-26182: Object was modified by aother user ad caot be saved. As a workaroud, close ad reope the mappig ad repeat chages. [ ] 4.10 Groovy Script Editor is Uable to Fid JDBC Drivers i the User Classpath A Groovy script, depedig o exteral JDBC drivers, may fail with a ClassNotFoudExceptio as the JDBC drivers i the user classpath are ot foud. As a workaroud, edit odi.cof ad add the JDBC driver jar usig AddJavaLibFile. For example, AddJavaLibFile./mysql-coector-java bi.jar. [ ] 4.11 Multiple Reusable Mappigs With Same Name Closed Whe Closig Oe If two or more usaved reusable mappigs with the same ame (such as the default ame, "New Reusable Mappig") are ope i ODI Studio, ad oe is closed usig the File -> Close meu item, all of the reusable mappigs with that ame are closed, eve if oe or more have usaved chages. Closig a reusable mappig usig the X ico o the editor does ot cause this issue. [ ] 4.12 Test Coectio Dialog for Eterprise Scheduler Icludes Local Aget Whe usig the Test Coectio butto for the Eterprise Scheduler, the test coectio dialog is opeed with a drop dow list to pick the aget where the coectio test should be performed. Local aget is icorrectly icluded i the drop dow list eve though a local aget caot be used for a ESS-ODI asychroous ivocatio commuicatio chael. 5 Sectio 5.10, "Error Displayed Whe Selectig HBase" Sectio 5.11, "RKM SQL (JYTHON) Fails if JDBC Driver Does t Support REMARKS Colums" Sectio 5.12, "Big Data Kowledge Modules" Sectio 5.13, "Mappig Editor May Not Display All Template IKMs" Sectio 5.14, "The UNION_DISTINCT Pig Operator Does Not Remove Duplicate Outputs" Sectio 5.15, "LKM SQL to Hive-HBase-File SQOOP Does Not Support Uloadig Data from Teradata" 5.1 KMs replaced durig repository upgrade By default, all loaded KMs i the repository are replaced durig repository upgrade, irrespective of whether they are modified or ot. Do ot upgrade the KMs durig repository upgrade. The followig are the workarouds to upgrade the KMs: If you have SAP KMs, you must ot upgrade the KMs durig repository upgrade. The ew SAP KMs require ew ODI SAP compoets. Usig ew SAP KMs with old ODI SAP compoets causes ay SAP mappigs to fail. As a workaroud, ucheck Replace KMs with Madatory Updates whe upgradig the ODI repositories. To upgrade SAP KMs, follow the upgrade istructios give i the Applicatio Adapters Guide for Oracle Data Itegrator for the respective ODI SAP adapter. If you have ay custom KMs, the customizatios are lost if you upgrade the KMs durig repository upgrade. As a workaroud, ucheck Replace KMs with MaXdatory Updates whe upgradig the ODI repositories. After you upgrade the repositories, maually replace oly those KMs that you wat to upgrade. [ ] 5.2 IKM SQL Icremetal Update (Row by Row) Caot Target Japaese Tables "IKM SQL Icremetal Update (Row by Row)" fails o task Flag rows for update if the target table ame cotais Japaese characters. I the geerated code, the itegratio table ame appears as I$_?????? where? characters replace Japaese characters. As a workaroud, replace this IKM with aother IKM suitable for the techology. For example, "IKM Oracle Icremetal Update" for Oracle. [ ] 5.3 Caot Edit or Delete MSSQL Data from MSSQL Model Whe attemptig to save edits or deletes of data from a MSSQL model, a error similar to the followig may be displayed: java.sql.sqlsytaxerrorexceptio: [OWLS][SQLServer JDBC 5

6 Driver][SQLServer]Ivalid object ame 'dbo.src_customer'. SQL geerated by the iteral Jbuilder library uses oly the SCHEMA ad TABLE ames, but ot the CATALOG field, which prevets a coectio for edit/update from beig made with the target MSSQL dataserver. [ ] 5.4 IKM SQL Icremetal Update (Row by Row) Fails with Sigle Backslashes i File Path "IKM SQL Icremetal Update (Row by Row)" fails if the KM optio LOG_FILE_NAME is set to a Widows path cotaiig backslashes, for example LOG_FILE_NAME=C:\user\joe\odi_load.log. This worked i 11 g releases. As a workaroud, use a double backslash i the path, for example C:\\user\\joe\\odi_load.log. [ ] 5.5 No-ASCII Data i a Exceptio Throw by a Jytho Script is Icorrectly Coverted Whe a exceptio throw by a Jytho script cotais No-ASCII data, the No-ASCII data might be replaced with???. However, this does ot mea that busiess data is affected, ad more iformatio ca be obtaied i the exceptio stack. [ ] 5.6 Error While Creatig Tables i Teradata While creatig a table o Teradata, the Teradata JDBC driver versio prior to may throw the exceptio Caot create ofallback table <table> with AMP dow. This is due to a bug i the Teradata driver while gettig the FetchRowCout after executig the table creatio SQL. To resolve the issue, cotact Teradata to get a fix for the Teradata JDBC driver. [ ] 5.7 Must Replace IKM Oracle Cotrol Apped Whe Upgradig to ODI Or Later The itegratio kowledge module IKM Oracle Cotrol Apped must be replaced with the versio whe upgradig to ODI or later, from earlier versios of ODI. [ ] 5.8 MySQL ENUM Type Colum Limitatio ODI ad allows the use of the MySQL ENUM datatype i mappigs, with the followig restrictios: FLOW ad STATIC cotrol must be disabled Create target table must be disabled [ ] 6

7 5.9 MySQL Database Caot Be Used as a Exteral Database Store The MySQL database caot be used as a exteral database store. The geerated SQL for the database ca cause sytax exceptios. The exteral database store is used for XML, Complex File, or LDAP drivers, as described i "Part IV, Appedixes" of Coectivity ad Kowledge Modules Guide for Oracle Data Itegrator. [ ] 5.10 Error Displayed Whe Selectig HBase Whe selectig the techology HBase ad a logical schema iside a model, the followig error is displayed: ODI-20754: Driver ame caot be empty The error message is icorrect, as a HBase data server caot have a driver ame cofigured. The error wo't be displayed after customized reverse egieerig is selected for the model. [ ] 5.11 RKM SQL (JYTHON) Fails if JDBC Driver Does t Support REMARKS Colums The RKM SQL (JYTHON) fails if JDBC driver does't support REMARKS colums. [ ] 5.12 Big Data Kowledge Modules I this release, all of the Big Data kowledge modules are writte to work with the ew WebLogic Hive JDBC Driver. Durig migratio, you must maually chage the JDBC Driver i the Hive data servers from Apace to WebLogic. For more iformatio about the ew WebLogic Hive JDBC Driver, refer to "Settig Up Hive Data Sources" i Itegratig Big Data with Oracle Data Itegrator Mappig Editor May Not Display All Template IKMs The Mappig Editor may ot correctly list the imported Template IKMs for selectio. To list the imported IKMs, you must chage the Target Itegratio type from its default ( Cotrol Apped ) to either Icremetal Update or Noe The UNION_DISTINCT Pig Operator Does Not Remove Duplicate Outputs The UNION Pig operator uses the followig modifiers to specify the uiqueess characteristic: uspecified Perform a DISTINCT operatio o output. DISTINCT Perform a DISTINCT operatio o iput, but ot output ALL Do ot perform a DISTINCT operatio o iput or output 5.15 LKM SQL to Hive-HBase-File SQOOP Does Not Support Uloadig Data from Teradata The ew compoet KM LKM SQL to Hive-HBase-File SQOOP 7

8 does ot support uloadig data from Teradata ito files hat use the Teradata coector for SQOOP. Istead, use the SQOOP geeric coector. 6 Post-istall Patch Iformatio for Oracle Data Itegrator 12c After istallig Oracle Data Itegrator 12c ( ) you should preform the followig: 1. Make a backup of your ODI repository schema. 2. Upgrade all ODI repositories associated with the istallatio usig the Upgrade Assistat. See your Upgrade documetatio for detailed upgrade istructios. Warig: Oce the ODI repository is upgraded it caot be reverted back eve if you remove the patch. So make sure you make a proper backup of your existig ODI repository so that it ca be restored if you remove this patch i the future for ay reaso. 3. For settig up ew domais with this patch, follow the istructios i Oracle Fusio Middleware Istallig ad Cofigurig Oracle Data Itegrator. 4. Clearig of the JDev cache is required for all istallatios where the ODI Cliet is to be lauched: For Uix platforms Locate system i your Home directory ad remove it. For example: rm -rf $HOME/.odi/system For Widows platforms: Locate system i your Home directory ad remove it. For example: delete C:\Users\<userame>\AppData\Roamig\odi 5. Start ODI Studio. 6.
