7 About This Release of BEA WebLogic Itegratio Uderlyig this fuctioality is the idustry-leadig J2EE applicatio server, BEA WebLogic Server, which provides the critical ifrastructure eeded to develop itegrated solutios that support trasactio maagemet, security, fault tolerace, persistece, ad clusterig. WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 SP1 supports ed-to-ed busiess itegratio by providig fuctioality i the followig areas: Busiess process maagemet makes possible the developmet of complex e-busiess processes that itegrate existig eterprise systems, cross-eterprise applicatios, ad huma decisio makers. Applicatio itegratio makes it possible to itegrate existig eterprise applicatios with each other, ad with ew e-busiess applicatios. B2B itegratio makes possible the coectio of tradig parters over the Iteret, ad the itegratio of EDI eviromets with WebLogic Itegratio. 8 What Is New ad Improved i This Release BEA WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) delivers the followig ew fuctioality ad ehacemets: Support for AIX ad Red Hat Liux platforms WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 SP1 ow supports IBM AIX 4.3.3, IBM AIX 5.1, ad Red Hat Liux 7.2. For details, see Platform Support o page 5 ad Hardware ad Software Requiremets o page 8. Support for BEA WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2 WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 SP1 ow supports WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2; however, oly the ew ebxml fuctioality requires usig WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2. If you are ot plaig to use ebxml ad you already have WebLogic Server 6.1 SP1 istalled, you are ot required to upgrade to WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2. Support for the DB2 database WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 SP1 supports the DB2 database o Solaris 7 ad Solaris 8 Su platforms. If you pla to use a DB2 database, see Prerequisites for Usig a DB2 Database. WebLogic Itegratio - Busiess Coect WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 SP1 itroduces a ew tradig parter lightweight cliet, called WebLogic Itegratio - Busiess Coect, for exchagig messages with WebLogic Itegratio usig the ebxml Message Service busiess protocol. Support for the ebxml Message Service Specificatio v1.0 This specificatio defies the message evelopig ad header documet schema used to trasfer ebxml messages with a commuicatio protocol such as HTTP. I additio, WebLogic Itegratio supports the creatio ad executio of workflows that model ebxml busiess messages. A sample applicatio that demostrates how two tradig parters exchage busiess messages usig the ebxml protocol is provided i the \samples\ebxml directory of your WebLogic Itegratio istallatio. 16 Specifyig JAVA_HOME for Red Hat Liux The JDK required for use with Red Hat Liux is ot provided with WebLogic Server. Dowload ad istall Su JDK 1.3.1_01 separately before istallig WebLogic Server. WebLogic Itegratio looks for the JDK i BEA_HOME. Because the JDK is istalled separately, choose oe of the followig methods to poit to the correct JAVA_HOME.I both methods, JAVA_HOME is the directory i which you istalled JDK 1.3.1_01. Use the followig commads to poit to the proper JAVA_HOME before settig your eviromet. cd $BEA_HOME l -s $JAVA_HOME JAVA_HOME Use the followig commads to chage the defiitio of JAVA_HOME i $WLI_HOME/setev.sh to poit to the directory i which you istalled JDK 1.3.1_01. cd $WLI_HOME JAVA_HOME=JAVA_HOME Database Support WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) requires the followig database-related resources: Access to a database server that is istalled o the local etwork Database server accout with privileges sufficiet for creatig a database with tables This sectio describes the databases supported for use with WebLogic Itegratio. Cloudscape (Widows Oly) BEA ships the Cloudscape software a pure-java relatioal database maagemet system (RDBMS) with WebLogic Server. A evaluatio copy of Cloudscape (o expiratio) is shipped with WebLogic Server BEA WebLogic Itegratio Release Notes

17 System Requiremets O Microsoft Widows platforms, Cloudscape is supported for developmet purposes oly. Cloudscape is ot supported o Widows platforms for productio eviromets. Cloudscape is o loger supported o UNIX platforms. If you have a older versio of Cloudscape, replace it with the versio packaged with the latest WebLogic Server 6.1 distributio (full versio; server with example). You ca dowload WebLogic Server 6.1 SP1 (or higher) from After you istall WebLogic Server 6.1, the Cloudscape software is located i the followig directory o Widows systems: %WL_HOME%\samples\eval\cloudscape I the precedig pathame, WL_HOME represets the root directory of the WebLogic Server istallatio. The Cloudscape driver cosists of oe file: cloudscape.jar. Oracle The Oracle cliet libraries must be istalled o a machie ruig WebLogic Server 6.1. You must also have access to a Oracle server. WebLogic Itegratio uses the Oracle thi driver, which is delivered ad istalled with your WebLogic Server distributio. For more iformatio about cofigurig the Oracle thi driver supplied with WebLogic Server, see Third-Party Drivers at the followig URL: Oracle The Oracle cliet libraries must be istalled o a machie ruig WebLogic Server 6.1. You must also have access to a Oracle server. WebLogic Itegratio uses the WebLogic jdriver for Oracle, which is provided with WebLogic Server 6.1. 18 Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 or 2000 Before you ca use Microsoft SQL Server, you must istall the WebLogic jdriver for Microsoft SQL Server JDBC driver (MSSQLServer4 Kit Versio 7). This driver is a pure Java Type-4 JDBC driver that provides coectivity to the Microsoft SQL Server. You ca dowload it from Select the appropriate versio of the driver for SQL Server versio 7.0 or The WebLogic jdriver is budled with WebLogic Server 6.1, ad is istalled o your system whe you istall WebLogic Server 6.1. A valid licese etry for WebLogic jdriver for SQLServer 7.0 or 2000 is eeded i your WebLogic Server licese file. For details about usig the JDBC specificatio for database access, see the followig URL: Sybase System DB2 V7.2 A Sybase jcoect driver is budled with WebLogic Server. This driver is provided for your use without charge. If you choose to use a later versio, you must make the appropriate chages to the cofig.xml file usig the WebLogic Server Admiistratio Cosole for WebLogic Server 6.1. The DB2 V7.2 cliet libraries must be istalled o a machie ruig WebLogic Server 6.1 SP1 or higher. Note: WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 SP1 ow supports WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2; however, oly the ew ebxml fuctioality requires usig WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2. If you are ot plaig to use ebxml ad you already have WebLogic Server 6.1 SP1 istalled, you are ot required to upgrade to WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2. You must also have access to a DB2 V7.2 server. Whe you istall the DB2 V7.2 cliet o your machie, the JDBC 2.0 driver is also istalled. 20 Settigs Required for Ruig WebLogic Itegratio o HP-UX 11.0 Chages to default cofiguratio settigs ad parameters are required to ru WebLogic Itegratio o a HP-UX 11.0 system. I WLI_HOME/setev.sh, locate the followig lies: HP-UX) JAVA=$JAVA_BIN/java JAVAC=$JAVA_BIN/javac JAVA_OPTIONS="-Djava.compiler=NONE -Xms128m -Xmx512m" export JAVA JAVA_OPTIONS JAVAC Chage: JAVA_OPTIONS="-Djava.compiler=NONE -Xms128m -Xmx512m" to: JAVA_OPTIONS="-hotspot -Xms256m -Xmx256m" Also, set the max_thread_proc to 512 ad max_users to 128. You must have root access to make this chage. Support for Null Variables WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 SP1 supports ull values i variables through the wli.bpm.server.evaluator.supportsnull optio i the startweblogic script. Whe this optio is set to true, all variables are iitialized to a ull value. Whe this optio is set to false, all variables are iitialized to their default values. 21 Usage Notes Desig-Time Web Applicatio JSP Delivery Chage The followig iformatio should be added to Migratig Adapters to WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 i Developig Adapters. The WebLogic Itegratio 2.1 Service Pack 1 sample adapters ( , DBMS, ad sample) o loger distribute the JSP pages i a Web applicatio archive (WAR).
