Characteristics of TRF data The data collected by TRF ca be used as iput to accoutig, performace aalysis, capacity plaig, or other reportig programs. TRF data is fully compatible with ad supported by MXG. MXG Software may be used to read the TRF data ito a Performace Data Base to produce reports o moitorig, cotrollig, tuig, ad accoutig for the IMS subsystem. The database call data may be writte to the log as either detail records (oe per call) or as summary records (oe per database per trasactio). The advatage i summarizig the data olie is that fewer log records are writte ad less CPU overhead is icurred. Calculatig virtual storage Virtual storage required to summarize data olie ad usage could be prohibitive i a large system.
