2 Objective Ministry is about people; keeping track of your church's interactions with its members and visitors can greatly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of your staff and volunteers. In this session you explore the mobile app as a key component for connecting with your congregation. This session presents the following topics: Installing: How to install the mobile app on and devices. Individuals: How to view/add/change information for a person. Including contact information, dates, configurable fields, and family. Groups: How to view/add/delete individuals to/from Groups. Interactions: How to manage interactions. Calendar: View the calendar. View differences between the different operating systems. Attendance: How to add/edit attendance for a group. How to add/edit visitors to your church. Swipe to see more options. Contact: A look at Mass Contact. Church Directory: A look at the church directory on the mobile app. 2

3 The Mobile App and Installing the Mobile App (Screenshots were taken from an ipad and a Samsung Tablet. There could be differences between various devices.) Go to the App Store. Go to Google Play. Type ShelbyNext in the Search box. Locate ShelbyNEXT Membership and download the app. For an ipad, change from ipad Only to iphone Only. 3

4 Logging in You need your church URL for ShelbyNext ( Tap on domain name for your ShelbyNext Membership site. Type in your church domain (mychurch). You do not have to type in.shelbynextchms.com. Type in your Username and Password. You can stay logged in (but make sure that you have good security on your mobile device if you do). The main screen may look different depending on the Role that you have been assigned in the Web application. This is an example of Administrator rights. The terms Individuals and Groups could be different for your church. These can be changed by the church under Settings > Terminology. 4

6 Individuals Only those users who have rights see all the Individuals in the web browser and the mobile app. 6

7 When a name is tapped under Individuals, there is a difference in the placement and look between the two apps for basic Individual information. Below is a sample from each app. 7

8 Making a phone call or sending a text message from the App When in an individual record and you tap on a phone number, the Call screen appears. If it is a cell phone number, the Message or Send Text Message appears. This is just for the individual selected. This call comes from your cell phone. 8

10 Map an address From an individual record, tap on an address and a mapping app opens. This is just for the individual selected. 10

11 Groups From an individual record, tap on Groups. (With the, you have to tap the ellipse at the top right to get to Groups and other areas covered in this session.) This displays the Groups in which the individual is enrolled. Tapping on a Group opens up a list where all those enrolled are displayed. You can tap on a group member and go to his or her record. Swipe left () or tap () on a Group name to delete the person from the Group. You can add the individual to a new group. 11

12 Notes You can add/edit notes on an individual. Individual Interactions View the Interactions (communications/contacts) related to the individual selected. You can also log or assign a new Interaction to the individual. 12

13 Groups Only those with permissions to Groups see Groups in the app. In Groups the number of people enrolled in the class is displayed. 13

14 Tapping on a Group opens a list of people enrolled in the Group. Tapping on name gives details. Scroll to Groups and swipe left to delete from the Group. Tap on a name to see details. Hold your finger on the name for the option to delete the person from the group. 14

15 Tapping the Add to Group icon allows you to add a person to the class from the database, or add a new person. Add to Group Add to Group 15

16 Interactions Ministry is about people; keeping track of your church's contacts with its members and visitors can greatly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of your staff and volunteers. That is what Interactions accomplishes. Phone calls, all types of visits, s, and counseling sessions are all possible types of Interactions that can be tracked. You can also assign yourself an Interaction and maintain a To Do List. Interactions can be secured by Interaction Type. Mine Mine 16

20 Calendar The app has a month view (agenda) calendar. The has multiple views and shows more than one month of data. All data is view only. Both apps allow you to tap on a date to see more details. 20

22 Attendance Inputting attendance is easy on the mobile app. Navigate to Attendance. Choose the Group. Choose the date for the session by tapping on the date box (Today) and selecting the day from the popup calendar. Go through the list of people in the meeting, tapping on those present. Tap Save () or the checkmark () when done. You can add a visitor from the database, add a visitor as just a name (placeholder), or add a person with information. () Swipe left on a name for Options of where you can mark Attendance Status. 22

25 Contact Sending mass , SMS, or voice messages is easy on the mobile app. 25

26 Child Check In When you are within the required range from the church, Child Check in is available from both mobile apps. Select the Child and the label printer station and the labels are printed and waiting at the printer station. 26

27 Giving If you have the ShelbyNext Giving option, you are able to give a one time gift or set up a recurring gift from within the mobile app. 27

31 Set the Enable Directory to Yes. Select a Directory Group. (Tip: Make it easy and call the Group Directory.) Check the boxes for the fields that you want visible for ALL individuals in the Directory. 31
