3 mylifeonline USER GUIDE 2014 Welcome to mylifeonline. This simple guide will help you get started. We won t cover all of the features, bells & whistles of mylifeonline, but we ll show you the most important basics. 4 WHAT IS mylifeonline? mylifeonline is an online community and central location for all things at LBF. mylifeonline connects people, organizes ministry teams, creates calendars, and improves communication and collaboration. mylifeonline will help you stay connected with our church family, keep up-to-date with upcoming events, find ministry groups, and more. With mylifeonline you can: Contact Info: Update your family s contact information to keep connected! Secure Kid s Check-in: Securely and swiftly check in your kids (birth through sixth grade) to our LIFE Kids Children s Ministry on Sundays and Midweek. Groups: Find groups you re enrolled in. Find contact information for people in your groups. Collaborate with your group through group messages. Accept volunteer serving positions and schedules. Check your volunteer serving volunteer schedules. Share files with others in your groups. Calendars: View church activities calendar. View your group s specific calendars. Sync your personalized church calendar with your icalendar and Google calendars. Giving: Setup and manage your online giving to LBF, including reoccurring gifts. Check your giving history. Print out your giving statement for tax time. Event Registration: Register and pay for events, classes, and activities. And much more! RSVP to event/meeting invites. 4

5 ACCESSING mylifeonline Visit then click on the page mylifeonline ( Click Connect to mylifeonline. Scan now! If you already have a login and password, you enter it here. If not, click Sign Up and provide the information requested. If your current is already in our database, a temporary username and password will be ed to you immediately. Follow the instructions in the to log in. If we don t have your current address on file, your account will be activated when our church office has processed your request. Once we ve processed your request, you ll receive an activation . Follow the instructions in the activation . 5

6 YOUR PERSONAL HOME PAGE Once you ve logged into mylifeonline, you will see your home page. 1) Your name, picture (if you ve uploaded one), and link to your profile information. 2) A list of groups you are currently enrolled in. 3) Your personal church calendar upcoming all-church events and group events. 4) Recent activity from groups you are enrolled in. 6

7 YOUR mylifeonline PROFILE Your profile contains your contact information, your family s contact information, birthdates, anniversary, and more! Your security is important to us. You are in control with how much of your contact information you want to share. Click on the tabs and look around. 1) Your contact information is listed here. 2) Under your contact information are six different tabs. Click on each tab to learn more. 3) You can edit a number of items in your profile settings, or your profile itself. 8 EDITING YOUR PROFILE Click Edit Profile under the actions section on the right side of page (see example on previous page). You ll see your profile information is organized into six different tabs. Take a look around and make sure the information we have for you is correct. Add any additional information. 1) Upload a picture to add to your profile! It easy to do and helps create community. 2) Your birthdate is used to help us organize ministry here at LBF. Your actual birthday (including the year) is never publicized. Just your birthday. 3) Your address and the contact phone is your preferred phone number. This phone number is published to your friends in mylifeonline and to others you are in a group with. It is not published to the entire mylifeonline community. 8

9 UPDATING PRIVACY & COMMUNICATION PREFERENCES Privacy and communications are important issues for Life Bible Fellowship Church and mylifeonline gives you full control of what information you make available to the mylifeonline community. 1) How much communication would you like to receive? Click Set Communication Preferences to manage which communication you want to receive from each of your specific groups. 2) What profile information would you like to share with others? Click Update Privacy to choose which information you want to publish to which groups of people. 10 VIEWING OTHER PROFILES Other people in the mylifeonline community can be searched for by clicking on People from your homepage. Begin typing their name in the search box. You will see the results. Click on the person. You will only be able to see as much information as they have made available to the community. 10

11 ADDING OTHERS TO YOUR FRIENDS LIST One of the best ways to be connected and build the mylifeonline community is by adding your friends. Once you have searched in people and found a profile of a friend, click on Add to my friends list. Adding someone as a friend allows them to see your profile information they need to add you as a friend before you can see their information. 11

12 YOUR GROUPS Your Groups is one of the most useful features of mylifeonline. In groups you can send messages, share files, view group calendar events, create needs, and more. You can also get contact information for people who are in your group, which is very helpful when coordinating group activities! 1) From your homepage, click the Groups tab to access the list of groups you are in. 2) Click on each specific group to open up the group s home page. 12

13 INTERACTING WITH YOUR GROUPS 1) Click Participants or View to see the profiles of others in your group. This is where you can access their contact information. 2) Explore the tabs within the group that help coordinate group activity and communication. Events shows you any upcoming meeting times that are scheduled. Messages shows you messages (which are also ed to you) and any comments others have posted. Needs is an area where group leaders can create specific needs that they desire the group to take on. Positions are volunteer positions created by the group leader. Files: Any files that are ed out to the group are kept here. Schedules: If you ve volunteered for any schedules, they will be listed here. 13
