1 2018 FALL PRODUCT PROGRAM KIT FOR JULIETTES Program Dates: September - October 19 Get ready to Speak up! and Lead the Way! with the 2018 Fall Product Program. Product Programs help girls learn skills that last a lifetime: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. The Fall Program not only builds these skills, it also gives your Girl Scout a chance to earn credits for their Girl Scout events and activities. To keep you informed along the way, look for the Shout Out! Weekly Newsletter in your inbox every Thursday! It will have important reminders and the most up-to-date information on the program. Service Unit Product Chair (SUPC): Your SUPC is the volunteer your area who will be the point person for the Fall Program! They ll be your go-to contact for questions and any help you need with UNIFY (our online system), and will make sure you receive your product and rewards at the end of the program. We will send you their contact information once you submit your online Juliette Parent/Guardian Agreement or you can contact us at or info@gsiowa.org. MY SUPC S CONTACT INFO Name Phone Best way to contact New this year! Earn your first reward as soon as your family fills out your Juliette Parent/Guardian Agreement online and you promise to sell at least one item. Once submitted, you ll receive your 2018 Lucy and Dottie Dog Tag in the mail! Visit gsgibridge.com/fallprogram and check out the new 2018 Fall Program Kick Off Video too! The Bridge: Trainings, Forms and Program Guides: Visit gsgibridge.com/fallprogram UNIFY: girlscouts.qspgao.com/greateriowa - The website where you will manage all aspects of product and reward ordering. 2 IT S SIMPLE FOR GIRLS TO GET STARTED! It s easy to participate with in-person or online options! Girls have the opportunity to sell nuts, candy, and magazines plus a variety of other great options designed specifically for the Girl Scouts and their customers! Girls can choose to sell in-person, online, or BOTH. HER ONLINE STORE Girls set up an online store and invite their customers to shop online via , social media, and text messages! Their online store offers a wide variety of items to choose from including, but not limited to, nuts, magazines, tumblers, candles, and much more! Invitations to set up their account will be sent to the parent/guardian of all registered girls on September 10. Here are some great benefits to selling online: Customers pay online with a credit card and have items shipped directly to them OR NEW THIS YEAR! Families can offer girl delivery for online purchases of select nut/chocolate items! Customers pay online with their credit card and then the girl delivers the nut/chocolate items to the customers in November. All online orders are tracked instantly in UNIFY. New instant patches! Earn the Online and patches when she sets up her online store and sends 15+ s. Patches will be mailed directly to each household. IN-PERSON SALES The girl packet gives customers the choice of 16 great nut/chocolate items and the most popular magazine titles. Collect money when the order is taken. You can accept cash or checks made payable to Girl Scouts. Nut/Chocolate Orders: Customers select their favorites and pay at time of order using the Nut Order Card. Girls must return to the customer to deliver the product. Their orders will arrive in time for Thanksgiving! Magazine Orders: Customers select their magazine subscriptions using the Magazine Order Forms. The forms are turned into your Service Unit Product Chair (SUPC) and then to QSP to begin the subscription. (Please note it can take up to 12 weeks for customers to receive their first issue.) Make sure customer and subscription information is completely filled out, or the customer s order could be delayed. Pink copies of the Magazine Order Forms should remain with the customer. DONATIONS PROJECT THANK YOU Customers can also make a donation to your Girl Scout in-person and online. These donations go to support Project Thank You, which sends nuts/chocolates or magazines to our hometown heroes such as police, firefighters, and military men and women. Specific items are not guaranteed. To take a donation in-person, simply enter the quantity ordered in the Project Thank You columns on the Nut Order Card and collect money. HANDLING MONEY Girls collect money from customers. Money is deposited in its original form at the nearest bank (Wells Fargo works best) using your deposit-only card. Always use your PIN number and keep a receipt. ALL money is due October 22 2
3 REWARDS AND PROGRAM CREDITS Girls earn rewards and patches as they reach each level outlined on the Nut Order Card. Rewards are cumulative. Munch Money is program credits that girls can earn to help them pay for their Girl Scout experience. It can be chosen instead of rewards at levels indicated on the Nut Order Card; it does not automatically accumulate based on sales. It can be used to pay for her Girl Scout membership, program materials in our shops, and/or help girls participate in certain Girl Scout events and activities (including camp)! For more information about Munch Money please review the Program Credit Policies found on the Bridge. NEW! GO-GETTER PATCH Girls who participate in the Fall Program AND the Cookie Program can earn the 2018 personalized Go-Getter Patch! Sell 10 fall product items and 200 packages of cookies and this patch will be shipped directly to her at the end of the Cookie Program. JULIETTE PROGRAM CREDITS (JPC) Girls not participating with a troop also earn Juliette Program Credits (JPCs) based on their total sales. These program credits can be used just like Munch Money and are added to the same digital account number at the end of the program. Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Juliettes may opt-out of all rewards for an additional $10 in JPCs. For more information about JPCs including the council-wide Juliette group account please review the Program Credit Policies on the Bridge. As part of a special program at her school, Jane completed an independent study project and she chose to do it all about guide dogs! Being the true G.I.R.L. (Gogetter, Innovator, Risk-taker and Leader) that Jane is, she made sure that this opportunity would go beyond her school project. All About Guide Dogs is for girls in grades K-8 and teaches them about the importance of guide dogs, and offers collaborative, hands-on activities to learn about them. Guide dogs & service dogs are the mascots of this year s program! To download the complete guide visit the Bridge (gsgibridge.com/fallprogram)!
