1 M.Ed Literacy Portfolio Student Guide WCU TK20 Office Recitation Hall Watermark Helpdesk September 2018 v Tk20 has now united with Livetext and Taskstream under the new company name of Watermark.
2 What is Tk20 by Watermark? The College of Education and Social Work (CESW) uses TK20 by Watermark as a comprehensive online data management system for assessments of student learning outcomes and field placements. Tk20 by Watermark establishes electronic documentation for continuous improvement of our programs and accreditation. Students will use this system to complete key unit and program course assignments, field applications, field experience binders, surveys, and portfolios. All students enrolled in College of Education and Social Work programs that are accredited by a professional agency (CAEP, CSWE and CACREP) are required to have a Tk20 by Watermark subscription. This includes graduate and undergraduate programs that lead to licensure/certification, endorsement, and certificate. Effective August 1, 2018, students that do not have an active account, are required to subscribe to Tk20. Students can purchase an account for $103 ($100 plus a $3 processing fee) via credit card, money order, or cashier s check from the Tk20 login page. Accounts are accessible for seven (7) years after the date of purchase. Note: This fee is subject to change within the time span of one's University career. Once your account has been activated, you will receive an confirmation from studentac@watermarkinsights.com. Note: It can take up to 2 3 business days to activate your Tk20 by Watermark account. If do you do not receive an confirmation, be sure to check spam/junk mail folders. Once your account is activated, you can log into Tk20 by Watermark with your WCU log in credentials or via a link in your D2L course. TK20 by Watermark Best Practices Recommended Internet Browser: We recommend that you use Google Chrome or Safari browsers while working in the TK20 environment. Please make sure that you are using one of the latest two versions for optimal performance within the tool. Do not use Internet Explorer. DO NOT use the browser back button. Instead, navigate using the tabs and menus within TK20. DO NOT sign into TK20 in multiple tabs or windows. Wait until a page fully loads before taking a subsequent action. Look for the spinning circle.. Always log out of TK20 when you are done working in the system. When uploading a file, do not include special characters such as (*,,, &,?) in the name when you save the file for upload in Tk20. 3 How to Access Tk20 by Watermark Students and faculty can log into TK20 in one of two ways: 1. Via a link in your D2L course a. From within your course in D2L, click on Content in the gray navigation bar. b. Click on the TK20 module located along the left side of the page. c. On the right side of the page, click on TK20 Homepage. d. By accessing Tk20 via your course in D2L, you will not be prompted to enter a username or password. 2. Via Tk20 homepage a. To access Tk20 directly, type wcupa.tk20.com into your internet browser. Then, click on the new Faculty Student login page link. Do not login using the top portion of this page. b. Enter your WCU and password. These are the same credentials used to access MyWCU, D2L, and Webmail. If you are having trouble with your password, please contact the IT Helpdesk at Username = WCU Password = WCU password c. You may come to an Information to be Provided to Service page. Select Do not ask me again and click Accept.
4 M.Ed Literacy Portfolio Instructions 1. To access your portfolio, click Portfolios on the left side panel. From here, you will see a list of portfolios that have been assigned to you. Click on the blue link for the M.Ed Literacy Portfolio. 2. Each sub-tab in the portfolio will represent a different section that you need to complete within the portfolio: Title & Instructions: The first tab will include the title and any pertinent instructions Portfolio Contract: You will upload your Literacy Masters Portfolio Contract here Degree Candidacy: You will upload your Degree Candidacy form here Artifacts: While in Phases 1-3, upload any artifact you might consider including in your final portfolio. When in Phase 4, you will delete any artifacts that you do not wish to submit with your final portfolio. Request for Portfolio Evaluation: This is where you will select when you want your portfolio to be evaluated Reflection 1 & Reflection 2: Follow the instructions to submit your reflections within these tabs Vision Statement: You will submit your Vision Statement here Assessment: This is where you will view your assessors feedback Extensions: This tab will be utilized if you need to be granted an extension
5 3. To begin, click on the Portfolio Contract tab. Then, download the Literacy Masters Portfolio Contract by clicking on the blue link, on the left side of the screen. Once you have completed the contract, click on the Select button on the right side of the screen. 4. Click Select Files, upload the contract, and then click Add. Remember it is important that you only have Tk20 open in one tab while you upload evidence. Opening the system in multiple browser tabs can cause errors and loss of data. 5. You will be brought back to the tab that you were working on. From here, click Save on the bottom right. Do not click the Submit button until you have completed all of the tabs within the portfolio. You should save your portfolio every time you complete an assignment or upload new artifacts.

For the Degree Candidacy tab, download the Degree Candidacy form on the left side of the screen and then upload it within this tab, following the same steps you did for the Portfolio Contract. 7. For the Artifacts tab, you will upload any artifact that you might consider including in your final portfolio during Phases 1-3. When in Phase 4, be sure to delete any artifacts that you will not use in your final portfolio. 8. To add artifacts, click the Select button, add your files, and then save. To edit or upload additional files, click on the blue link to open up your artifacts.
7 9. To add additional files, click on the Select File(s) button and upload your files. To delete any files that were previously uploaded, click on the X next to the file s name. When you are finished editing, click Update. 10. On the Request for Portfolio Evaluation tab, you will need to indicate when you want to have your portfolio evaluated. Review the instructions on this tab to find the dates when your request needs to be submitted. 11. For the Reflection 1, Reflection 2, and Vision Statement assignments, click on the corresponding tab and follow the instructions on the left side of the screen to submit the assignment. Remember to save your portfolio anytime you add additional assignments. 12. When you have fully completed all of the requirements of the portfolio, click Submit on the bottom right of the portfolio.
8 Sharing/ ing Your Portfolio 1. If you wish to share your portfolio with an external individual, you can do so by clicking the Share button on the right-hand side of your portfolio. 2. Enter the address for the individual who you want to send the portfolio to. If you want to send this to multiple individuals, separate addresses with a space. 3. Enter a subject for your . Then, select the tabs that you wish to share. You can choose to share some or all of the tabs within the portfolio. 4. You can choose to share the assessments associated with your portfolio. Leave this unchecked if you do not wish to share assessors comments. 5. Enter a message to include within the body of your Select a date for when you want the shared link to expire. 7. When finished, click the green Share button on the bottom right.
9 Viewing Assessment on a Submitted Portfolio 1. Click on the Portfolios tab on the left side panel. Then, click on the Assessments tab. 2. From here, you can select the blue link under Assessment Tool(s) next to each assessor s name. 3. Your assessor(s) may have also left comments within your uploaded evidence. To view these comments, click on the sub-tab for the standard containing your evidence. 4. Then, click on the attachment title. 5. Click View next to your file to view any comments. Comments will show up as highlighted text. Hover your mouse over the highlighted text in order to read the comment.
