1 USING SERVICEPOINT ON OSX / MacOS [01/2018] The PKI & PEM files are security certificates that allow you to view ServicePoint. They only need to be installed once on each computer you use, then they will be saved for all future sessions in the same user account. If you re getting an error message when you try to log in to ServicePoint, call the helpline at to request the PKI and PEM files and follow these instructions to install them. You must have both files for access to ServicePoint. Internet Explorer There is no version of Internet Explorer that runs on OSX/MacOS. You would need a Virtual Machine app like Parallels or VirtualBox to be able to run IE within a Windows OS install on a Mac. Google Chrome This was tested on OS X using Chrome (64-bit) Steps may vary on other versions of the OS. - Open this on your Apple Macintosh computer or ios device (or forward it to your personal address so that files are still attached). - Install the.pem certificate by double-clicking the attached.pem file. The name of the.pem file may not be exactly as shown in the screenshots below. - The Keychain Access app will launch.

2 - You will be asked if you wish to add the certificate to a keychain. Select login and hit Add. - If you re not already there, click Category/Certificates on the lefthand column. - The certificate you added is named Bowman Systems CA but appears with a red X over the name. This means it is untrusted.

3 - Double-click the Bowman Systems CA certificate and change the Trust section to Always Trust. - At the prompt, enter your user account password. This is not the admin user, it s the same password you use to sign into your own account on this computer. There will already be the correct name in the Username field.

4 - Bowman Systems CA now appears with a blue cross. - Come back to this and leave it open. - Double-click the attached PKI certificate (portland_client.p12) - You will be prompted to add another certificate. Hit Add. - You will now be asked for the password for portland_client.p12 Note that there may be a number in parens before the period this will change if you ve downloaded this file multiple times. It s fine. Enter the password below. I was not able to copy/paste this password, so you may have to type it. Only the initial letter is capitalized. Check the Show password box if you want to double-check your typing. Aubvn/2asza

5 - Hit OK - Look in Keychain Access under the Certificates category again. You should now see a certificate named portland.servicept.com has been added. If you see two certificates with that name here, the correct one is the one with the expiration date of Sep 22, Delete the other one. - Go to the ServicePoint web address ( in Chrome you should see the login screen. If you see the screen below hit OK. - Then hit Always Allow.

6 - When you see the ServicePoint login screen you ve successfully installed the two certificates. SAFARI If you are using Safari the same steps in Keychain Access will work, however you may be prompted for yet another certificate choice and always allow keychain to say OK to. FIREFOX Firefox manages its own certificates and doesn t use Keychain Access, so while it is possible it s pretty tedious. Since all Macs and ios devices come with Safari I m not going to spell it out here. TROUBLESHOOTING If you are running anti-virus software or firewall software, make sure there is an exception for You may need local IT support to help you with this. Avast Security Go under Avast Security/Preferences/Web Shield/Settings and hitting the plus sign to add the site. Make sure to include https. You will need Corin or Sandra s help here, as you must be an admin to add a security exception.

7 MacOS Firewall Go under System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Firewall Options and check Automatically allow downloaded signed software to receive incoming connections. Date & Time Your machine must be on the correct date and time to securely connect. Go to the Date & Time system preferences and ensure the time is set automatically. Flip the automatic connection off and on again if it seems off, or manually enter the correct date and time. Other software If you are running Little Snitch or other firewall-like software you could also be blocking the site. If you are, make sure there is an exception for the site.
