Introduction EFILive Hardware EFILive has developed unique hardware for the Cummins HD market. FlashScan HD and AutoCal HD have been added to the EFILive suite of products. EFILive Cummins HD products are easily identifiable by the red case and custom label. FlashScan HD and AutoCal HD will only support Cummins HD vehicles. FlashScan HD and AutoCal HD cannot be used to read/flash vehicles requiring either the GM Tuning option or Dodge Cummins Tuning option. FlashScan V2 and AutoCal will continue to support the GM Tuning option and/or Dodge Cummins Tuning option. FlashScan V2 and AutoCal cannot be used to read/flash Cummins HD vehicles. Unique hardware for Cummins HD is required because: Vehicle connection cables and communications protocols are unique for Cummins HD vehicles. Hardware voltage changes have been made to support both 12V and 24V applications. New market segment Cummins Heavy Duty (HD) and Light Duty (LD) vehicles are very different markets where many customers will not need the product required for the other market segment. To assist tuners who will use both FlashScan V2 and FlashScan HD, FlashScan HD can be manufactured as a Proxy FlashScan to contain identical license and protected numbers that are shared with its Master FlashScan. This will allow FlashScan V2 and FlashScan HD to link/unlink AutoCal and AutoCal HD devices and lock/unlock tune files across the entire suite of products. Proxy FlashScan devices are custom made prior to shipping. Your existing FlashScan license number must be included when ordering. Vehicle Communications Ports Cummins HD vehicles communicate using the J1939 communications protocol. The vehicle type and application will determine the style of communications port/diagnostic port fitted to the vehicle. FlashScan HD and AutoCal HD are shipped with an OBD-II cable, and a J pin Black Deutsch connector to 16 pin OBD-II adapter to suit most on-highway applications up to On-Road applications for the 2017 model year and beyond communicate using a different CAN speed and vehicle connector. These vehicles require a J pin Green Deutsch adapter. This adapter is not included with purchase, however upon public release of support, this adapter will be an optional purchase via the EFILive store. Some Off-Road applications use custom communications ports. Where the vehicle is not fitted with a standard OBD-II or 9 pin Deutsch communications port, support@efilive.com

customers will need to source an appropriate adapter and ensure its compatibility with the included OBD-II cable. Some Light Duty On-Road applications contain multiple communications ports to support multiple CAN protocols. In some instances where an OBD-II port and another communication port is fitted, the OBD-II is non-standard and does not support J1939 communications protocols. Customers will need to source a specific adapter and ensure its compatibility with the included OBD-II cable. Software Overview EFILive presently has two major software versions (V7 and V8) that implement different parts of the tuning and scanning process. The V8 software is undergoing significant development and will eventually supersede V7 entirely for FlashScan customers. Cummins HD customers must install both versions, the following table displays Cummins HD software functionality. Feature V7 V8 Scanning OBDII Diagnostics Reading Flashing Tune Editing VIN License Management Firmware Management Requirements Cummins HD software enhancements are available in the following product versions: EFILive V or later. FlashScan / AutoCal Firmware - V or later. EFILive V or later. The EFILive software is constantly updated, customers should ensure that they are running the latest software by using the Check for Updates feature in V8 Scan and Tune software. support@efilive.com

FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD Capacity and Tune File Sizes FlashScan HD has approx. 6MB of internal memory capacity for the storage of tune and log files. Expand FlashScan HD capacity with an SD memory card. FlashScan HD supports SDSC V1.0, SDSC V1.01 and SDHC V2.0 up to 32GB. SD Cards with a capacity of less than 64MB are not supported. AutoCal HD has approx. 6MB of internal memory capacity for the storage of tune and log files. The tune file sizes for Cummins HD controllers are; CM2350A tune files are approximately 3.4MB each. CM2250 tune files are approximately 2.6MB each. CM2220 tune files are approximately 2.1MB each. Read/Flash Times Cummins HD read times on average take between 7-10 minutes depending on controller and the read/flash method used. Typically pass-thru reading and flashing is 1-2 minutes faster than black box/stand-alone reading (BBR) and black box/stand-alone flashing (BBF). CSP 5 Cummins Switchable Programming EFILive's CSP custom operating systems for Cummins HD ECMs allows customers to be able to switch 'on the fly' between multiple tunes, all stored in the ECMs flash memory. This feature is currently in development. support@efilive.com

Ensure that CSP 5 tunes can be switched after powering off FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD by selecting 1. [F6: Logging] > At start-up, automatically re-select the most recently used PID list. 3. Select appropriate BBX Quick Setup options. 4. To place tune files on FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD, add tune files to the Quick Setup using the green '+' icon. Once the device is programmed, FlashScan HD or AutoCal HD is configured for BBX functions and tune switching via FlashScan HD or AutoCal HD. Each option can be programmed individually using the [Program] button on each tab, or collectively using the [Program Quick Setup] option. support@efilive.com

File Management Move Tune files from your PC to FlashScan V2/AutoCal There are two methods to move tune files from your PC onto FlashScan HD and AutoCal HD - via V8 Scan and Tune using the Quick Setup process, or via EFILive Explorer. Quick Setup Refer to the previous section. EFILive Explorer To place tune files from your PC onto FlashScan V2/AutoCal; 1. Connect your FlashScan V2/AutoCal device to your PC. 2. Open EFILive Explorer. 3. Navigate to the directory on your PC where you have saved your file 4. Navigate to: [F3: Data Files]. 5. Select appropriate folder on your FlashScan V2/AutoCal device and drag the selected file from your PC to FlashScan V2/AutoCal. Move Tune and Log Files from FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD to your PC To move calibration read files and data logs from FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD to your PC for editing and backup purposes; 1. Connect your FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD device to your PC. 2. Open the EFILive Scan and Tune application, open EFILive Explorer using the button on the launch page. support@efilive.com

3. Navigate to the directory on your PC where you wish to save the file. 4. Navigate to the [F3: Data Files] -> EFILive ->Tune -> Read location for calibration read files, or [F3: Data Files] -> EFILive ->Tune -> Scan for data log and trace files and drag the selected tune file to your PC

XCal File Conversion To assist tuners who have existing Cummins HD tune file libraries in *.xcal or *.0? file formats EFILive has developed a conversion tool called EFILive XCal to convert these tune files for use in EFILive software. *.xcal files are files with an extension of xcal. *.0? files are files with extensions similar to: *.00, *.01, *.02, *.03, etc EFILive XCal is a standalone program that is included with the EFILive V8 software installation. The EFILive V8 software installation is governed by the EFILive Terms and Conditions and the EFILive End User License Agreement. The EFILive XCal application file (EFILive_xcal.exe) may be copied to and used on any other device, including but not limited to external thumb drives. Please refer to the Cummins HD File Conversion Guide.pdf for more information. support@efilive.com

Support License Purchase and Activation Codes Orders for FlashScan HD and AutoCal HD VIN Licenses can be placed in the EFILive store. License code processing is automated and codes are issued within approximately 10 minutes of correct order placement. To ensure your VIN License order is correctly placed; 1. Order the correct product. FlashScan V2/AutoCal VIN licenses ordered using a FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD serial number and authentication code will not process automatically. Orders placed using an incorrect product code will be actioned during regular New Zealand business hours. 2. Enter your FlashScan HD/AutoCal HD serial number and the correct authentication code. (How?). a. The serial number field must contain 12 digits and the first 2 digits will be 00, similar to this example number: The serial number for your device is static. The serial number will remain the same over the life of the product. b. The authentication code is made up of 3 segments of 6 hexadecimal characters (0..9 and A..F only), similar to this example code: E49B20-7FEA45-2CA839. The Auth Code is a unique number to enable verification of the number of VIN licenses activated on a given FlashScan/AutoCal device. The number is calculated uniquely each time it is requested. Each time an order is placed, customers will be required to generate a valid authentication code to facilitate automated license processing. Please do not enter the above values as they are examples only Additional licensing information is available in the License Purchases & Activation Codes FAQ. support@efilive.com

ECM Recovery The Cummins HD range of supported ECMs are very robust and in almost all cases should be recoverable. If an ECM becomes unresponsive during flashing, reflashing the ECM should rectify the issue. EFILive Technical Support Technical support is available for: Software installation and uninstallation. Hardware and software setup and configuration. Hardware and software faults. Error codes and messages. USB driver issues. Reading and flashing supported controllers. Adding and managing VIN Licenses. Adding and managing Stream Licenses. Locking or Unlocking controllers. Technical support is not available for: AutoCal end user support. Support for AutoCal is provided directly by the tuner that supplied the AutoCal product with their tuning services. Windows configuration, setup and/or faults. PC or laptop failures. Tuning advice. EFILive will not provide tuning advice. Often we require tuners to send their tune files to EFILive as part of a support incident. That means EFILive has access to various tuning styles, techniques and methods, some of which have been developed by our customers over long periods and at considerable expense. EFILive is committed to keeping all customer information private and confidential. Trouble Shooting Before seeking support from EFILive, users should use the multiple options of selfhelp that are available. Update Software and Firmware Support will only be provided on the current public release software version, or any public beta or release candidate software versions. Additionally the firmware of the FlashScan or AutoCal device must be updated to the latest version supported by the installed software version. EFILive Error Codes The EFILive V8 software and FlashScan and AutoCal hardware may from time to time display error codes in the form $XXXX where XXXX is a 4 letter/digit code. Where an error code is displayed by the EFILive software, or on FlashScan HD or AutoCal HD, the detailed cause and actions can be found in the Error Code Lookup located in V8 Scan and Tune software under the [F8: Tools] -> [F8: Error Codes] menu. support@efilive.com

Alternatively, an Error Codes.pdf document is also available on the same menu, or by navigating to [Help] -> [Documents] -> EFILive Error Codes.pdf. EFILive Knowledgebase The EFILive Knowledgebase contains a range of help documentation on commonly asked questions and issues to assist users. Assistance is provided on a range of topics including Ordering, Reading and Flashing, Licensing, and trouble shooting. EFILive Forum Need to search for a specific topic, or would like end user advice or assistance? The EFILive Forum contains a wealth of information that is searchable and easily accessible. Log a Support Case If after troubleshooting, your issue is not resolved please create a new support case via our service desk, accessed here. The username and password are the same as the EFILive Forum. If you do not already have an account you simply need to register as a new forum user. Once logged into the service desk, select the Ask a Question link to create a new incident. Under the Question Properties change the Category to Support. Fill in all of the fields in the Additional Information section. support@efilive.com
