1 MILESTONES SETUP IN PROFESSIONAL CENTER HOW TO CUSTOMIZE A SET OF MILESTONES FOR YOUR SITE 1. Go to procenter.flchoices.org and enter your Professional Center Account Name and Password. 2. On the home page for the Professional Center, select either link to the Administration page.

2 3. On the Administration Page, select the link to Change the Planning Milestones for your students. 4. On the Choose Milestones for Tracking page, you will see the current defined sets of milestones created and which has been selected and assigned to each role/grade. To create a new set of planning milestones, select the link at the bottom to Add a new set of planning milestones. The set of planning milestones titled Florida Career Planning is a systemdefined set of 18 that FLDOE created as a default list of popular activities. The Edit and Duplicate action buttons allow you to easily copy an existing set of milestones and then edit it to add or subtract activities.

3 5. Begin creating your new set of milestones by typing in a name for your set. Note: We recommend you consider choosing a name for your new set of milestones that will relate to the role/grade that the set is for and for when the set applies, e.g., 9 th Grade Spring This will provide useful data to other educators with professional accounts connected to your site.

4 6. Once you have given your set a name, begin selecting which activities in Florida CHOICES you wish to add to your set of milestones by clicking the small squares. You can build a set from between 1 and 18 activities. The sample set below has 6 milestones selected. Refer to the student side of the program ( to learn more about each activity. The colored section headings at left refer to on which content tab each can be found. 7. When you have selected all the desired activities, click the Save button.

To change the assignment of a set of planning milestones to a role/grade, click on the dropdown menu in the column titled Planning Milestones Set to be Displayed and select the desired set or select None. Make sure you click on the Save button after you have made any changes in assignments. 9. To see the assigned set of milestones in a student account, have a student from the desired role/grade sign into their account at Select the Your Portfolio tab. Select the link for Your Planning Milestones. (image on next page) The milestones list includes a link directly to the particular activity inside the program. Once a student completes an activity from the milestones set, a blue check will appear in the center column space and include the date on which the activity was most recently completed. (image on next page) Milestone sets can be easily tracked by educators from the Reports tab in the Professional Center. Milestones do not have to be completed in a particular sequence. This can be helpful when computer access time is limited, so if a student does not have sufficient time to complete one activity they could pick a different milestone from the set.

6 Below is how a set of milestones appears in a user s account. The underlined link on the right side of the panel will take the user directly to the feature in Florida CHOICES. For example, instead of looking in each content tab for the Entrepreneurial Checklist activity, the link in the milestones panel will take the user directly to it.
