4 Introduction Release is an enhancement and bug fix release to the prior Pearson CMS releases of Documentum. Release Notes describe: The issues and solutions for the (21) enhancements and/or bugs that were implemented and/or fixed in the Release build. DCTM Release Notes

5 DCTM Plus signs displayed next to folders that did not contain sub-folders. In Documentum, a plus sign icon, which indicates the presence of sub-folders, unnecessarily displayed in the Navigation pane (indicating the presence of sub-folders within) displayed next to folders that did not contain sub-folders (See Figure 1.1). 6 DCTM Mistyped FTP information on the Bulk Tools: Export screen could not be corrected. When creating an FTP bulk export job, if a user typed incorrect information in the FTP text boxes (1) on the Bulk Tools: Export screen, and then clicked the button (2), an error message displayed (3). However, when users attempted to correct the information, the button was grayed out/inaccessible, forcing users to start the bulk export process over again (See Figure 2). Figure 2.1. If users attempted to bulk export via FTP but mistyped the server name, port number, user ID, password, or path on the Bulk Tools: Export screen and then clicked the button, they received an error message. When they corrected the mistyped information, the button was grayed out and inactivated. You can correct mistyped information on the Bulk Tools: Export screen and resume your export. 7 DCTM Bulk export of collections was inaccessible. When users selected collections or assets within collections for bulk export, the Bulk Export menu option was grayed out and inaccessible (See Figure 3). Figure 3.1. 8 DCTM The columns in the BULK TOOLS Local Queue Component pop-up window were not wide enough to allow all text to display. When performing a bulk checkout, the Export job created confirmation message on the Bulk Tools: Checkout screen rather than the Checkout Job created confirmation message (See Figure 4.1). Similarly, the bulk checkout confirmation displayed URL to review the bulk content in Documentum, rather than the Dashboard or the latest updated content URL (See Figure 4.2). Figure 4.1. 10 DCTM The Pearson logo was missing from many BU monthly dashboard reports. The Pearson logo was missing in many monthly BU dashboard reports, and in all reports viewed on the Microsoft Windows operating system (See Figure 5.1). Figure 5.1. 11 DCTM Some users experienced various login issues. Non-SSO (Single Sign On) users could log into Documentum using FSS or My Documentum Desktop, but not via a browser. SSO users could log in using a browser, but not via FSS Users can access Documentum via FSS or browser. DCTM Content pane thumbnails were too small to view. It was difficult to see thumbnail details in the Content pane. Larger thumbnails display in the Light Box view (1). Metadata displays below the thumbnails (2) and are user-configurable using the set column preferences function (3) (See Figure 7.1). Figure 7.1. 12 Multiple Items* - Some browser imports/exports caused errors. Users received various error messages when they attempted browser imports and exports. The browser import/export functionality (BOCS) has been reconfigured to prevent errors and increase browser file transfer speeds. If you experience any issues with these process, please contact the Help Desk. 13 DCTM Some file types could not be transformed. Users could not transform ADTS, and some XTS, MTS, and AVTS files (See Figure 9.1). After GIF files were imported into Documentum, their thumbnails appeared darkened. Thumbnails accurately reflect the GIF files they represent. DCTM Release Notes

14 DCTM Zip & /Export of new files failed. When users attempted to zip and , or zip and export recently imported files, they receive error messages (See Figure 11.1). 15 DCTM The External Bulk function is unnecessary. Only one person used the External Bulk function since it was implemented. Therefore, the function should be discontinued. The External Bulk URL has been deactivated. Users who attempt to use this URL will receive a 404 Page Doesn t Exist Anymore message. DCTM The Program Name field in Documentum needed to accept more characters. PCS allowed a program name length of 45 characters. However, Documentum program folders did not allow this many characters. Thus, when PCS attempted to publish a program to Documentum, Documentum rejected the program because the program name was too long. The Program Name field for Pearson products folders has been extended to allow up to 255 characters. DCTM All Penguin UK reports needed to be removed from the PAL Migration repository. Penguin UK were no longer using the PAL Migration repository, so they could not access the reports in that repository. Therefore, all of their reports should be removed from the PAL Migration repository, including those in the Dashboard Reports. All Penguin UK reports have been removed from the PAL Migration repository. DCTM Release Notes

16 DCTM Bulk Exports of more than 500MB stalled temporarily. While bulk exporting more than 500MB, the extraction progress bar on the Job Process screen moved to 12%, and then dropped back to 0%. This occurred three to four more times before the export concluded successfully. The Bulk Export function has been updated and works as designed. DCTM Thumbnail and rendition availability varied widely across the repositories. The ability to create renditions and to generate thumbnails of video files varied across the repositories. This confused users. In the Video Archive folder in the School repository, video streaming renditions are supported for the.flv,.mov, and.mp4 types. This function is not available in other School folders or in other repositories. Thumbnails for video files are available in the MDC, PAL, PNA and School repositories. DCTM Release Notes
