1 One Blue Hill Plaza, 16th Floor, PO Box 1546 Pearl River, NY PC-AMERICA, (Voice) (Fax) POS-X XPC600 System Configuration This document provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your POS-X system, which contains the following components: the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC, XM130 Integrated Magnetic Stripe Reader, XP8200 Customer Pole Display, XR510 Thermal Receipt Printer, and the XR210 Impact Receipt Printer. 1 P a g e
2 Attaching the XM130 Integrated Magnetic Stripe Reader to the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC To attach the XM130 Integrated Magnetic Stripe Reader to the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC, follow these steps. 1. Locate the holes on the right side of the XPC Hold the XM130 over the holes so that it can be screwed onto the XPC Insert the screws and tighten them. 2 P a g e
3 4. Insert the XM130 s USB cable into a USB port on the XPC Store the extraneous cable underneath the XPC600 s hinge. 3 P a g e
4 Assembling the XP8200 Customer Pole Display and connecting it to the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC To assemble the XP8200 Customer Pole Display, you will need the following components: Follow these steps: 1. Attach one of the poles to the base. 4 P a g e
5 2. Attach the Second pole to the first pole. 3. Insert the white end of the cable through the base and pull it out through the Second pole. 4. Attach the white end of the cable to the display s white attachment. 5 P a g e
6 5. Attach the display to the Second pole. 6. Connect the now-assembled pole display to a COM port on the XPC600. Note the number of this COM port, as this information is necessary for CRE/RPE to communicate with the pole display. 6 P a g e
7 CRE/RPE Pole Display Configuration No Drivers are needed to install any of the POS-X pole displays. The pole display should have both a Com and a USB Connection. The USB Connection is used for Power while the com port transmits data. To Install: Simply match the COM port in our program to which com port the pole display is attached. NOTE: There is also a Power switch under the display. The Standalone Pole Display (XP8200) needs the Pole Display type to be set to Sharp / Touch Dynamic in CRE/RPE. 1. Start the RPE/CRE program. 2. Select the Options/Manager and enter your password (where applicable). 3. Select Setup and then Setup Screen. 4. Select the Hardware tab and then Page1. 5. Under Pole Display Port select the port that the Pole display is attached to (e.g. COM1). 6. Under Pole Display Type select Sharp / Touch Dynamic. 7. Select Update to save your changes. 7 P a g e
8 The Customer Display attached to the XPC 600 unit (XP2200S) needs the Pole Display type set to General. 1. Start the RPE/CRE program. 2. Select the Options/Manager and enter your password (where applicable). 3. Select Setup and then Setup Screen. 4. Select the Hardware tab and then Page1. 5. Under Pole Display Port select the port that the Pole display is attached to (e.g. COM1). 6. Under Pole Display Type select General. 7. Select Update to save your changes. 8 P a g e
9 Connecting the XR510 Thermal Receipt Printer to the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC To set up the XR510 Thermal Receipt printer, you must have the following cables: Follow these steps: 1. Plug end 1 of cable 1 into end 2 of cable Plug end 2 of cable 1 into a power outlet. 9 P a g e
10 3. Plug end 1 of cable 2 into the appropriate port on the XR Plug end 1 of cable 3 into the appropriate port on the XR Plug end 2 of cable 3 into the XPC P a g e
11 Printer Driver Installation 1. Download and extract/open the POS-X_EpsonAPD.exe file. File is available for download from: 2. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and select Next. 3. Select Next again to save the files in the default location. 4. The Printer Driver Files will be copied to your machine. For the Select OS Box, select Windows XP and Select Next. 5. Then on the Select Module Screen, select EPSON TM- T88III Receipt (If you ll be installing an XR210 Kitchen Printer, you will also want to select EPSON TM-U220 Receipt). Do not change Printer Port Setting for now; we will do this later. 6. Select Finish. 7. After the files are copied, and drivers are installed, you will be asked to Reboot. Skip this step for now. (Your printers will show up as Not Available, but they can still be used.) 11 P a g e
12 Printer Configuration 1. Select the Start Menu, then select Control Panel. 2. Select Printers and Other Hardware (Or Printers and Faxes). Then select View Installed Printers or Fax printers. 3. Right-Click on EPSON TM-T88III Printer, and go to Properties. 12 P a g e
13 4. Select the Ports tab at the top. Uncheck Enable Bidirectional Support (Incompatible Feature). 5. Then change the printer port to the appropriate LPT, COM, USB Port or IP Address (Note, the port to be selected will not have ESD in front of the correct port). 6. Select Apply. 7. Next select the General tab and try to print a test page by selecting Print Test Page. 8. At the General tab, select Printing Preferences. Then select Document Settings, and change Paper Conservation to Top & Bottom. 13 P a g e
14 9. Select the Operation tab, and End of Document, and uncheck Feed to cut Position; change Partial Cut to Manual Cut by moving the slider to the left. 10. Select OK to apply changes to the End of Document page. 11. Select OK again to apply changes to the printing preferences page. 12. At the printing properties page select the Advanced tab and select Printing Defaults, and perform the same steps outlined in Step 8 above (Starting with Document Settings). 13. Select Ok to apply changes to the printing defaults page. 14. At the printing preferences page select the Barcode tab, select Barcode4, change Element Width to 2, Element Height to Finally select OK. 16. If you have any other POS-X Receipt Printer drivers installed, please delete them now. 17. Once you do this, you will want to turn the printer Off, and then back On again, to re-initialize the printer s settings. 14 P a g e
15 Configuration in CRE/RPE 1. Start the RPE/CRE program. 2. Select the Options/Manager and enter your password (where applicable). 3. Select [4] Setup [L] Friendly Printer Setup and re-enter your password if necessary. 4. Select Receipt in the Select Friendly Printer list on the left. 5. Select the EPSON TM-T88III Receipt in the Select local Windows printer list on the right. 6. Select Epson Thermal Receipt Printer as the Printer Type. 7. Select Cut Receipt at this Station. 8. Select Print Logo on receipts at this station (if applicable). It is also possible to print a logo, but it must first be uploaded to the printer. 16 10. To Set Up your Cash drawer, return to View Options screen. Select Setup, then select Setup Screen. 11. Select the Hardware tab, then for Default Cash Drawer Port, select USB Receipt Printer. This setting will be true no matter what kind of POS-X Printer you are using. 16 P a g e
17 Connecting the XR210 Impact Receipt Printer to the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC Before You Begin Make sure your POS-X XR210 Ethernet Printer is plugged in and properly connected to your router/switch via network cable and that the paper roll is properly seated. You can connect your XR210 printer to your PC through either a router or a switch via cat-5e cable (see image below). 17 P a g e
18 To set up the XR210 Impact Receipt Printer, you will need the following cables: Follow these steps: 1. Plug end 1 of cable 1 into end 2 of cable Plug end 2 of cable 1 into a power outlet. 18 P a g e
19 3. Plug end 1 of cable 2 into the XR Plug one end of cable 3 into the XR210 and the other end into an Ethernet switch or router. 19 P a g e
20 Plugging in and turning on the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC To plug in the XPC600 All-In-One TouchPC, you must have the following cables: Follow these steps: 1. Plug end 1 of cable 1 into end 2 of cable Plug end 1 of cable 2 into the XPC P a g e
21 3. Plug end 2 of cable 1 into a power outlet. 4. Plug a network cable into the XPC600. The other end of this cable should be connected to the same Ethernet switch or router as the XR Power on the XPC600 by pressing the appropriate button on the left side of the unit. The location of this button is indicated in the image to the left. 21 P a g e

23 Ethernet Printer Configuration 1. Download and extract/open the TCPIPCFG.exe file. File is available to download here: 2. Select Run. Note: If your firewall comes up simply select Allow to allow the application to access the printer through the firewall. 3. The Ethernet printer configuration utility will show on the screen. 4. Select Search, you will see a popup that says Probe complete! 5. Enter the information for the local IP, Subnet Mask and, Gateway. 6. After the information has been entered select Save, you will see a popup that says Write success 7. Exit the utility as the printer has been configured. 8. After the printer has been configured the windows driver must be configured. 23 P a g e
24 Printer Driver Configuration 1. Select the Start Menu, then select Control Panel. 2. Select Printers and Other Hardware (Or Printers and Faxes). Then select View Installed Printers or Fax printers. 3. Right-Click on EPSON TM-U220 Receipt Printer, and go to Properties. 24 P a g e
25 4. Select the Ports tab at the top. 5. Select Add Port 6. Select Standard TCP/IP Port. 7. Select New Port. 8. The Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard should appear. 9. Select Next. 25 P a g e

Select [4] Setup [L] Friendly Printer Setup and re-enter your password if necessary. 4. Select the Add Printer button. 5. Enter Kitchen for your new printer name and Select Enter. 6. Select Kitchen in the Select Friendly Printer list on the left. 7. Select the POS-X Receipt in the Select local Windows printer list on the right. 8. Select Epson TM-U220 Impact Receipt Printer as the Printer Type. 9. Select Cut Receipt at this Station. 10. Select Two Color Ribbon Epson Dot Matrix (if applicable). 11. Select Save & Exit. 28 P a g e
29 Sending Items to the POS-X XR210 Kitchen Printer You ll use the Printers setting for your Inventory Items to indicate which should be sent directly from your CRE/RPE application to the Kitchen Printer. 1. Start the RPE/CRE program. 2. Select the Options/Manager and enter your password (where applicable). 3. Select [5] Administrative then [A] Inventory Maintenance. 4. Locate an Item you want sent to the Kitchen Printer and select the Printers tab. 5. Select Add Printer and select the Kitchen button to select the kitchen printer that we just added. 6. Select Save Changes. Repeat steps 4-6 above for each Inventory Item you want sent to the Kitchen Printer when ordered. Examples of items you would probably not want sent to the Kitchen Printer include beverages and desserts, but items prepared in the kitchen should be individually directed to the Kitchen Printer. 29 P a g e
