3 HP 2D Imaging Barcode Scanner Note: There are no drivers required for this HP 2D Barcode Scanner. It is plug in play. However you may need to reprogram the scanner so that it scans items and drops them down into the invoice screen appropriately. Note: Follow the next few steps for the reprogramming configuration barcodes, as well as the barcodes to configure the scanner to scan Driver Licenses. Note: This barcode scanner has to ability to scan barcodes directly from a computer screen. HP Part Number: BW868AA 3 P a g e

4 Resetting the HP 2D Imaging Barcode Scanner to Factory Defaults Scan this barcode to reset all scanner parameters to factory defaults: Note: Scanning the Set All Defaults barcode does not change the interface type Simulating Carriage Return (Enter Key) If a carriage return/enter is required after each scanned bar code, scan the following bar codes in order: 4 P a g e

15 Configuring the barcode scanner in CRE/RPE Note: This setting is only available in CRE/RPE version and higher. 1. Go to Options/Manager then select Setup then Setup Screen. 2. Select Hardware the Page In the ID Scanner section, Select the radio button for Honeywell/Metrologic/HP Imager. 4. Select Update to save this change. 15 P a g e

16 Installing the EPSON TM-T88V Thermal Receipt Printer Please download and save the required.zip file from the link below. The.zip file contains all the files necessary to install the Windows drivers for Epson printers. When the download has completed, extract the files to your desktop or directory of your choosing. Note: This printer is Powered USB, there is no power cable. 16 P a g e

17 Installing the Epson driver for Windows 8 *NOTE* PLEASE MAKE SURE THE PRINTER IS TURNED OFF DURING INSTALLATION. Locate the downloaded files you extracted earlier. Right-click APD_455dE.exe and choose Run as Administrator 1. Once the driver opens, it will go through a loading screen. Wait until this completes before continuing to the next steps. 2. 18 3. Select I accept the terms of the license agreement then select Next > 4. Select Minimum (Recommended) then select Next > 18 P a g e

19 5. On this screen, select Add to view the list of printers. 6. Next to Select Driver click the drop down. 19 P a g e

20 7. Scroll down and select EPSON TM-T88V Receipt. 8. After selecting Epson TM-T88V Receipt the Printer Name will automatically be filled. 9. Select Create a USB port Selecting Set as Default Printer is optional. 10. Select Next > 20 P a g e

21 11. Select Next > 12. When installation is finished, select Finish **Now you can turn your printer on** When the printer is powered on, windows will install the drivers for the printer. This will allow Windows to see the printer in Devices and Printers. 21 P a g e

22 Configuring your Epson printer 1. Select Start then Control Panel and finally View devices and printers. 2. Right-click on the printer that was just installed and select Properties. To ensure the printer is printing properly, you must do a test page. 1. From the General tab 2. Select Print Test Page 3. When the test page prints, select OK. 22 P a g e

23 Next, you ll adjust how the receipt paper is cut. 4. On the Devices and Printers window, right-click the printer again and select Printing Preferences. 5. Select the Document Settings tab 6. Click Paper Conservation: <Top & Bottom> then with the box underneath, click Top & Bottom 23 P a g e

24 7. Within the Document Settings tab, click Paper Source: <Document[Feed,Cut]> 8. On the box below, click Document[NoFeed,NoCut] 9. Select the Barcode tab and from the drop down next to Font Name, select Barcode4 10. Then from the options below, make sure the Type is set to Code39 and select the box Advanced settings below 24 P a g e

25 11. Within the Advanced Settings for Barcode4, there are two elements that need to be changed: 12. Select OK. 1. Element Width to 2 2. Element Height to To save all settings, click Apply and OK on the Printing Preferences. 25 P a g e

26 Configuring CRE/RPE to print to the new Epson printer Now you re ready to set up your printer in CRE/RPE. 1. Start the CRE/RPE program. 2. Select the Manager/Options and enter your password (where applicable). 3. Select Setup on the left then Friendly Printer Setup and re-enter your password if necessary. 4. Within the box labeled Select Friendly Printer, select Receipt. 5. Select the EPSON Receipt Printer in the Select Local Windows Printer list on the right. 6. Select Epson Thermal Receipt Printer as the Printer Type. 7. Select Cut receipt at this Station under Printer Options. 8. Select Print logo on receipts at this station then select the logo file you would like to print on receipts (if applicable). 9. Select Save & Exit. Note: The Pixel aspect ratio for the logo must be 1:3 (i.e. if the image has a 100px height then the width must be 300px). If the image you are using is not in that aspect ratio then it will be distorted. 26 P a g e

27 Cash Drawer Configuration 1. Select the Manager or Options button and enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 2. Select Setup > Setup Screen. 3. Select the Hardware tab then Page1 below. 4. Under Cash Drawer select Open Default Drawer 5. Under Default Cash Drawer Port select the appropriate port that your receipt printer is connected to which in this case would be USB Receipt Printer. 6. Select Update. 27 P a g e

28 Check Open Drawer Status Option Note: This option is only if you are using an Epson TM-T88 series receipt printer. 1. Select the Manager or Options button and enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 2. Select Setup > Setup Screen. 3. Select the Hardware tab 4. Select Page1 5. Under Cash Drawer, select Check drawer open status (Epson TM-T88 only). This option will prevent any new transactions from occurring until the cash drawer has been closed. If you are prompted to close the cash drawer when it is already closed, re-enter the Setup Screen and check Use alternate cash drawer status check, in addition to the Check drawer open status option. 6. 29 Printing Barcodes on Receipts 1. Select the Manager or Options button and enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 2. Select Setup > Setup Screen. 7. Select the Receipt tab 8. Check Print Bar Code on On-Hold Receipts 9. Check Print Bar Code on Complete Receipts 10. Select Update to save your changes You are now ready to use your printer and cash drawer. 29 P a g e

30 Installing the HP Cash Drawer Note: No drivers are required to install the Cash Drawer The cable to install the cash drawer should have a small end (RJ11) and a big end (RJ45). (Pictured Left.) 1. Plug the big end of the cable into the underside of the HP cash drawer. 2. Plug the small end of the cable into the back of your receipt printer. 30 P a g e

31 Installing the HP 7in CFD (Customer Facing Display) 1. The HP 7in CFD is installed by sliding the top cover off the monitor of the RP2. 2. You will see the port to plug the CFD s cable into and the CFD will snap into place. 3. Follow the next steps on how to install the DisplayLink drivers. 1. Find the driver within the.zip file you last downloaded and right click DisplayLink_7.4M4 2. The driver will begin loading, stating Preparing to install 3. When prompted, click Next > 31 P a g e

32 4. Click I Accept 5. While this driver is installing, you will receive the prompt stating that your screen may go black temporarily at times. 6. When the install finishes, click Finish 32 P a g e

33 Virtual Pole Display - Enabling the Second Monitor in Windows 7 1. Right-click on the desktop screen and select Screen Resolution. 2. Select the monitor that you would like to extend the display to, and then use the dropdown to select Extend these displays under Multiple displays. 3. Set the monitors screen resolution, under Resolution. 4. When done select OK. Note: If the resolution can only be set to 800x400 then you must use the one of the specific color themes (Black-800, Blue-800, Red-800) in the virtual pole configuration section below. 33 P a g e

34 Virtual Pole Display - Enabling the Virtual Pole Display in CRE/RPE 1. Select the Manager or Options button. 2. Enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 3. Select Setup then, Setup Screen. 4. Select the Hardware tab and then the Page 1 tab. 5. Under Pole Display Type select Virtual(New). 6. Select Update. 34 P a g e

35 Virtual Pole Display - Creating the Common Images Folder We will need to create a common images folder where all the images that are used will be copied to. 1. Select Start and double click (C:) drive. 2. Create a folder and name it Image 3. Open your folder Image and create two (2) more folders, name them Common and Logo. 4. Go back into CRE/RPE and select the Manager or Options button. 5. Enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 6. Select Setup then, Virtual Pole Configuration. 35 P a g e

36 7. Select the Color Theme*. Note: If the screen resolution can only be set to 800x400 then you must use the one of the specific color themes (Black-800, Blue-800, Red-800). 8. Select the Text Size*. 9. Set the Number of seconds to display each graphic. 10. Set the Number of items to display. 11. For the Common Image Folder select the folder we created earlier by selecting Browse... (*see below for sample logic controls screens) 36 P a g e

37 12. Select the folder that you would like all of the images copied to. 13. When done select OK. 14. For Image file for logo select Browse P a g e

38 15. Select the file you would like to use as a logo and select Open. Depending on the resolution that was setup, will determine the size of the logo that can be used. It is recommended for any resolution to have an aspect ratio of 1:3. For example 100px (H) X 300px (W). On lower resolution screens it is recommended to use smaller images. 1. Select Browse... at the bottom right and select the images you would like to display at the bottom of the display. 2. Optionally you can choose to Display the slideshow. 3. If there is an image you don't want on the slideshow highlight it and then select Remove Selected Image. 4. When done select Show Virtual Pole Display. 16. If you have multiple monitors select Change display monitor (this computer only), this will cycle through each monitor until the correct one is displaying the display. When done select Save. 39 The Image dimensions that can be used on the standard size templates (Blue, Black and Red) are width=998 X Height=374 (in pixels). The Image dimensions that can be used on the 800 size templates (Blue-800, Black-800 and Red-800) are width=760 X Height=230 (in pixels). 5. Note: As the number of items to be displayed and Logo size increases, the amount of space for the images that are displayed will decrease. The image will be pushed down and might be cut it off at the monitor s edge. 39 P a g e

40 Installing the HP 2x20 Pole Display 4. The HP 2x20 Pole Display (Model: FK225AA) is a standalone pole display. 5. The USB plugs into the USB at the bottom of the HP monitor. 6. Follow the next steps on how to install the HP 2x20 Pole Display using OPOS drivers. 40 P a g e

41 Installing Microsoft POS for.net The installer for Microsoft POS for.net can be downloaded at: 1. Run the installer and select Install. 2. Enter a User Name and Organization and select Next. 3. Select Accept. 41 P a g e

43 Installing HP OPOS Driver The OPOS driver for the HP can be downloaded from: 1. After downloading the driver extract and then Right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator. 2. Select Yes to the prompt. 3. Select Next. 4. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement. 5. Select Next. 43 P a g e

44 6. Select the location to save the install files and select Next. A README.txt file will open which will give you instructions on what to do next, Please follow the steps in this doc to install the pole display correctly with CRE. At this point you will need to be logged in as an Administrator. 7. Navigate to the following folder: C:\SWSetup\SP Right-click the VFD_Services_Halt.BAT file and select Run as Administrator. 9. Select Yes to the prompt. 10. Reboot the computer. 44 P a g e

45 11. Navigate to the following folder: C:\SWSetup\SP53534\OPOS_Drivers 12. Right-click the setup.exe file and select Run as Administrator. 13. Select Yes to the prompt. 14. Select Next. 15. Make sure all the options to be installed are checked and select Next. 45 P a g e

46 16. Select Install to install the Driver. 17. Select Yes, I want to restart my computer now. The computer MUST be restarted. 18. Select Finish. 46 P a g e

47 Configuration the Pole Display in CRE/RPE 10. After the connecting the pole display, start CRE/RPE. 11. Select the Options/Manager and enter your password (where applicable). 12. Select Setup and then Setup Screen and re-enter your password if necessary. 13. Select the Hardware tab. 14. Select OPOS for the Pole Display Type. 15. Select HP POS Pole Display under OPOS Pole Display. 16. Select Update to save your changes. 47 P a g e

48 Installing the HP Dual Head MSR 1. The HP Dual Head MSR (Model: QZ673AA) is plug and play no drivers are needed. 2. On either the right or left side of the monitor, swipe the covers off and plug this MSR into the monitor. It will snap into place. 48 P a g e

49 Installing the HP LCM220 2x20 Pole Display 1. Locate the cover on the top and back of the RP2 unit. 49 P a g e

50 2. Remove the cover to expose the mounting screws. 3. Remove the mounting screws. 4. Insert the base of the customer display into the opening, carefully aligning the USB connector into the port. 50 P a g e

51 5. Secure the customer display in place with the mounting screws. 6. Turn the display on its swivel so it is facing away from the touch screen and towards the customer. 7. Windows should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers required. 8. A message should appear indicating the driver was successfully installed. 51 P a g e

52 Configuring the HP LCM220 2x20 Pole Display in CRE/RPE In CRE/RPE navigate to the Options/Manager Screen. Select Setup > Setup Screen > Hardware. 1. Under Pole Display Type select the OPOS radio button. 2. Under OPOS Pole Display > PoleDisplay Port dropdown select HPLCM220Display. 3. Click or tap on Update to save your changes. The customer display should read Thank You! along with the current date and time and is now ready for use. 52 P a g e
