5 Removing Port Cover 1. Pivot the all-in-one unit until the screen is nearly in a horizontal position. 2. Pull the tabs on each side of the cover towards you and rotate the panel cover up (pictured left). 5 P a g e

6 Preparing Unit for Either Customer Display 1. Separate the customer facing panel from the base of the unit. Use your finger to separate the panel completely. 2. Continue to remove the panel from the unit. 6 P a g e

7 3. After removing the customer facing panel, unclip all of the clips that are holding the base cover on. 4. See the image to the left for the clip locations. 5. Reseat the customer facing panel on the unit. 7 P a g e

8 Installing VFD Customer Display 1. Unpack all of the cables and the VFD Customer Display from the box. 2. The short cable is used to connect the pole display to the all-in-one unit. 3. The long cable is used as a cable extension for the VFD connection. 8 P a g e

9 4. Connect the short cable to the extension cable then connect the extension cable to the VFD display. 5. Route the cable through the pole riser and pole display base then into the unit. 6. Route the cable through the base as pictured left. 9 P a g e

10 7. Before connecting the riser to the base, slide the base into the hole on the customer facing panel on the base of the unit (as pictured left). 8. Using the supplied screws, secure the pole display to the base. 10 P a g e

11 9. Route the cable through the cable holster, then plug the VFD display into one of the 12V powered USB ports. 10. connect the riser to the pole display base and then connect the pole display to the top of the riser. 11 P a g e

12 11. Reattach the base cover to the unit. 12. The VFD pole display has been successfully installed. 12 P a g e

13 Installing Virtual Customer Display 1. Unpack the Virtual display from the box. 2. To remove the port cover from the back of the virtual display press down on the release clips and push the cover off. 3. Slide the cover off from the back of the virtual display. 13 P a g e

14 4. Using the cables provided with the virtual display connect them to the back of the display (as pictured left). 5. Route the cables through the display mount provided with your virtual display. 14 P a g e

15 6. Remove the four screws on the back of the display. 7. Attach the mount to the back of the monitor and affix it with two of the screws that were just removed from the back of the display. 8. Route the cables through the hole on the customer facing panel, then affix the display to the base. 15 P a g e

16 9. Secure the display to the base with the remaining screws. 10. Route the cables through the base (pictured left). 11. Connect the display to the unit (pictured left). 16 P a g e

18 Installing the HP Cash Drawer Note: No drivers are required to install the Cash Drawer The cable to install the cash drawer should have a small end (RJ11) and a big end (RJ45). (Pictured Left.) 1. Plug the big end of the cable into the underside of the HP cash drawer. 2. Plug the small end of the cable into the back of your receipt printer. 18 P a g e

19 Installing Microsoft POS for.net The installer for Microsoft POS for.net can be downloaded at: 1. Run the installer and select Install. 2. Enter a User Name and Organization and select Next. 3. Select Accept. 19 P a g e

21 HP LS 2208 Barcode Scanner This document contains barcodes for resetting the HP USB Barcode Scanner to factory defaults and for simulating a carriage return (pressing the Enter key). These barcodes are being set out in this document for the convenience of HP customers. However they are also available in online other documents, available from the HP Web site. The barcodes below are for resetting the HP USB Barcode Scanner to factory defaults and for simulating a carriage return (pressing the Enter key). 35 Configuring the barcode scanner in CRE/RPE Note: This setting is only available in CRE/RPE version and higher. 1. Go to Options/Manager then select Setup then Setup Screen. 2. Select Hardware the Page In the ID Scanner section, Select the radio button for Honeywell/Metrologic/HP Imager. 4. Select Update to save this change. 35 P a g e

36 Installing the EPSON TM-T88V Thermal Receipt Printer The following document covers the installation and setup of Epson printers in Windows in both 32 and 64 bit environments. Although this guide is for those running Windows 8, this is a universal Epson driver that will work with Windows XP, Vista, and 7 32 and 64 bit. Please download and save the required.zip file from the link below. The.zip file contains all the files necessary to install the Windows drivers for Epson printers. When the download has completed, extract the files to your desktop or directory of your choosing. 36 P a g e

37 Installing the Epson driver for Windows 8 *NOTE* PLEASE MAKE SURE THE PRINTER IS TURNED OFF DURING INSTALLATION. Locate the downloaded files you extracted earlier. Right-click APD_455dE.exe and choose Run as Administrator 1. Once the driver opens, it will go through a loading screen. Wait until this completes before continuing to the next steps. 37 P a g e

40 5. On this screen, select Add to view the list of printers. 6. To find your model, click on the drop box next to Select Driver. 40 P a g e

41 7. Scroll down and select EPSON TM-T88V Receipt. 8. After selecting Epson TM-T88V Receipt the Printer Name will automatically be filled. 9. Select Create a USB port Selecting Set as Default Printer is optional. 10. Select Next > 41 P a g e

42 11. Select Next > 12. When installation is finished, select Finish **Now you can turn your printer on.** When the printer is powered on, windows will install the drivers for the printer. This will allow Windows to see the printer in Devices and Printers. 42 P a g e

43 Configuring your Epson printer 1. On the Desktop, hover your mouse on the upper-right or lower-right corners of your screen for the Windows 8 charm bar to appear. 2. Select Settings. 3. Select Control Panel. 4. Select View devices and printers under Hardware and Sound. 43 P a g e

44 5. Right-click on the EPSON TM-T88V Receipt printer and select Printer properties. 6. To ensure the printer is printing properly, you must do a test page. 1. From the General tab 2. Select Print Test Page 7. When the test page prints, select OK. 44 P a g e

45 Next, you ll adjust how the receipt paper is cut. 8. On the Devices and Printers window, right-click the printer again and select Printing Preferences. 9. Select the Document Settings tab and click Paper Conservation: <Top & Bottom> 10. On the box below, click Top & Bottom 45 P a g e

46 11. Within the Document Settings tab again, click Paper Source: <Document[Feed,Cut]> 12. On the box below, click Document[NoFeed,NoCut] 46 P a g e

47 13. Select the Barcode tab and from the drop down next to Font Name, select Barcode4 14. Then from the options below, make sure the Type is set to Code39 and select the box Advanced settings below 15. Within the Advanced Settings for Barcode4, there are two elements that need to be changed: 1. Element Width to 2 2. Element Height to Select OK. To save all settings, click Apply and OK on the Printing Preferences. 47 P a g e

48 Configuring CRE/RPE to print to the new Epson printer Now you re ready to set up your printer in CRE/RPE. 1. Start the CRE/RPE program. 2. Select the Manager/Options and enter your password (where applicable). 3. Select Setup on the left then Friendly Printer Setup and re-enter your password if necessary. 4. Within the box labeled Select Friendly Printer, select Receipt. 5. Select the EPSON Receipt Printer in the Select Local Windows Printer list on the right. 48 P a g e

49 6. Select Epson Thermal Receipt Printer as the Printer Type. 7. Select Cut receipt at this Station under Printer Options. 8. Select Print logo on receipts at this station then select the logo file you would like to print on receipts (if applicable). Note: The Pixel aspect ratio for the logo must be 1:3 (i.e. if the image has a 100px height then the width must be 300px). If the image you are using is not in that aspect ratio then it will be distorted. 9. Select Save & Exit. Note: the printer used here is an example. Cash Drawer Configuration 1. Select the Manager or Options button and enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 2. Select Setup > Setup Screen. 49 P a g e

50 3. Select the Hardware tab then Page1 below. 4. Under Cash Drawer select Open Default Drawer 5. Under Default Cash Drawer Port select the appropriate port that your receipt printer is connected to which in this case would be USB Receipt Printer. 6. Select Update. 50 P a g e

51 Check Open Drawer Status Option Note: This option is only if you are using an Epson TM-T88 series receipt printer. 1. Select the Manager or Options button and enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 2. Select Setup > Setup Screen. 51 P a g e

52 3. Select the Hardware tab 4. Select Page1 5. Under Cash Drawer, select Check drawer open status (Epson TM-T88 only). This option will prevent any new transactions from occurring until the cash drawer has been closed. If you are prompted to close the cash drawer when it is already closed, re-enter the Setup Screen and check Use alternate cash drawer status check, in addition to the Check drawer open status option. 6. When finished, select Update Printing Barcodes on Receipts 1. Select the Manager or Options button and enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 2. Select Setup > Setup Screen. 52 P a g e

53 7. Select the Receipt tab 8. Check Print Bar Code on On-Hold Receipts 9. Check Print Bar Code on Complete Receipts 10. Select Update to save your changes You are now ready to use your printer and cash drawer. 53 P a g e

54 HP A799 OPOS Installation NOTE: To install OPOS drivers CRE/RPE MUST be running version or later. This can be checked at the login screen by going to File then About. 54 P a g e

55 Printer install files can be downloaded at: 1. Extract the file HP_Printer_OPOS.zip. (Those are the driver files.) 2. Right click the installer and select Run as Administrator (setup.exe). 3. Select Yes to the prompt. 4. Select Next. 5. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement. 6. Select Next. 55 P a g e

56 7. Select Next. 8. Select Next. 9. Select the printer(s) that you have (e.g. HP A799 Printer) and select Next. 56 P a g e

57 10. Select YES to have the OPOS Control Objects installed. 11. Select the communication type (i.e. USB Communications). 12. Select Printer Class USB and select Next. 57 P a g e

58 13. Select Yes for the cash drawer Alarm. 14. Select Next. 15. Select No then select Next. 16. Select the Destination Folder then select Next. 58 P a g e

60 20. Within CRE/RPE go to Manager/Options and enter the administrator password (where applicable). 21. Select Setup. 22. Select Friendly Printer Setup. 23. Highlight Receipt from the options on the left (Select Friendly Printer). 24. Highlight the appropriate HP receipt printer (A799) from the top right (Select local Windows printer). 25. Under Printer Type select OPOS (requires installation of OPOS driver). 26. Select Print logo on receipts at this station then select the logo file you would like to print on receipts (if applicable). Note: The Pixel aspect ratio for the logo must be 1:3 (i.e. if the image has a 100px height then the width must be 300px). If the image you are using is not in that aspect ratio then it will be distorted. 27. Finally select Cut Receipt at this Station and then Save & Exit to commit changes. 28. Select Manager or options and then select Setup (4) then Setup Screen (G). 29. 61 Configuring Sleep mode for the VFD Customer Display The Configuration utility for the VFD customer display can be downloaded from: 1. Open the SetupUtility application in the downloaded file. 2. Select the Advanced Setting button. 3. Select Yes. 61 P a g e

62 4. Use the dropdown under Time To enter Screensaver Mode to select None (Default). 5. Select Download Setting to Display. 62 P a g e

63 Configuring the VFD Pole Display in CRE/RPE 1. Select the Manager or Options button. 2. Enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 3. Select Setup then, Setup Screen. 4. Select the Hardware tab. 5. Under Pole Display Type select OPOS. 6. Under OPOS Pole Display select HPPOSCCPoleDisplay. 7. Select Update. 63 P a g e

65 HP POS Keyboard with MSR HP Part number: FK218AA This document covers configuring the integrated MSR on a HP POS Keyboard to read tracks 1 and 2. Note: Before Installing and configuring the HP POS Keyboard please make sure the device is connected. 65 P a g e

71 After the computer restarts, open the HP Designer software: 1. Select Modify active configuration of a keyboard and then select Next. 2. Leave Do not confirm read or write of configuration unchecked. 3. Select Next. 71 P a g e

72 4. Select the Magnetic card tab on the left. 5. Then Select Open. We are going to load the.ccf file that will program the MSR for Track 1 and Track Select the Hp keyboard with MSR Track 1&2.ccf file. 7. Select Open. 8. Select Activate, which will send the new configuration information to the keyboard. 72 P a g e

74 12. A Test window will pop up, swipe a card to test. The first line should start with "%" and end with "?" And the second line should start with ";" and with "?" The MSR is now programmed for Tracks 1 and 2. You can now exit the HP Designer. 74 P a g e

75 Manually Enabling Track 1 and Track 2 If loading the.ccf file does not work, follow these steps to manually enable Track 1 and Track Open the HP Designer software, Select Modify active configuration of a keyboard and then select Next. 2. 76 4. Select the Magnetic card tab on the left. 5. Under Tracks select Track 1 and then make sure that Enabled is checked. 6. Under Header make sure that Enabled is checked. 7. Under Terminator make sure that Enabled is checked. 76 P a g e

85 Virtual Pole Display - Enabling the Second Monitor in Windows 7 1. Right-click on the desktop and then select Screen Resolution. 2. Select the monitor that you would like to extend the display to, and then use the dropdown to select Extend these displays under Multiple displays. 3. Set the monitors screen resolution, under Resolution. 4. When done select OK. Note: If the resolution can only be set to 800x400 then you must use the one of the specific color themes (Black-800, Blue- 800, Red-800) in the virtual pole configuration section below. 85 P a g e

86 Virtual Pole Display - Enabling the Virtual Pole Display in CRE/RPE 1. Select the Manager or Options button. 2. Enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 3. Select Setup then, Setup Screen. 4. Select the Hardware tab and then the Page 1 tab. 5. Under Pole Display Type select Virtual(New). 6. Select Update. 86 P a g e

87 Virtual Pole Display - Creating the Common Images Folder We will need to create a common images folder where all the images that are used will be copied to. 1. Select Start. 2. Select My Computer. 3. Navigate to where you would like the folder created. 4. Right-click a blank area and then go to New and then Folder. 5. Give the folder a name. 87 P a g e

88 Virtual Pole Display - Configuring the Pole Display 4. Select the Manager or Options button. 5. Enter the administrator password (default: admin) where applicable. 6. Select Setup then, Virtual Pole Configuration. 7. Select the Color Theme*. Note: If the screen resolution can only be set to 800x400 then you must use the one of the specific color themes (Black-800, Blue- 800, Red-800). 8. Select the Text Size*. 9. Set the Number of seconds to display each graphic. 10. Set the Number of items to display. 11. For the Common Image Folder select the folder we created earlier by selecting Browse... (*see below for sample logic controls screens) 88 P a g e

89 12. Select the folder that you would like all of the images copied to. 13. When done select OK. 14. For Image file for logo select Browse P a g e

90 15. Select the file you would like to use as a logo and select Open. Depending on the resolution that was setup, will determine the size of the logo that can be used. It is recommended for any resolution to have an aspect ratio of 1:3. For example 100px (H) X 300px (W). On lower resolution screens it is recommended to use smaller images. 16. Select Browse... at the bottom right and select the images you would like to display at the bottom of the display. Any Images selected will automatically be resized to fit underneath the items. It is recommended to use images with the aspect ratio of 1:3. For example 100px (H) X 300px (W). 17. Optionally you can choose to Display the slideshow. 18. If there is an image you don't want on the slideshow select it and then select Remove Selected Image. 19. When done select Show Virtual Pole Display. 20. If you have multiple monitors select Change display monitor (this computer only), this will cycle through each monitor until the correct one is displaying the display. 21. 93 Virtual Pole Display - Troubleshooting the Virtual Pole Display in Windows 7 If after plugging in the virtual pole display, CRE/RPE is being displayed on another screen then please see the directions below: 1. Right-click on the desktop and then select Screen Resolution. 2. Select Identify. The monitors will have a large number displayed on them, this will help you determine which one you would like to make the main display*. 3. After determining which monitor you would like to set as the main display*, select Make this my main display. 4. When done select OK. * The Main Display is the one that displays the invoice screen in CRE/RPE. 93 P a g e
