COURSE OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this training is to help you learn Internet fundamentals, HTML, and Internet networking. The course is designed to prepare students for the CompTIA i-net+ certification exam. GOALS: This course will teach the student: Internet basics and infrastructure Internet client/server configuration Internet programming Extranets, intranets, and security Internet business concepts LEARNING OUTCOMES: Students will demonstrate mastery of these objectives by successfully completing hands-on labs and assignments that are specific to each unit goal. Students will be able to: Describe basic Internet infrastructure Describe IP addressing, platforms and protocols List Internet connection methods Describe Internet client and server configurations, including HTTP, FTP, Telnet, email, and news clients. Student will complete hands-on, in-class assignments ATTENDANCE: To fully benefit from the class, students are expected to attend all classes. REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATE: To receive a Certificate of Completion and Continuing Education Units, students must meet the following requirements: Attend at least 80% of scheduled class time Complete the practice inet+ exam, demonstrating 80% mastery of course concepts or equivalent skills demonstration to instructor.
