2 Note: What is RealVue 3D Packager FFEI s RealVue 3D Packager is a new product for creative professionals involved in the design and communication of advanced print and packaging designs. RealVue 3D Packager will help to streamline communication, improve product time to market and reduce overall development costs. Offering a fully interactive, animated 3D visualisation which simulates all aspects of the structural and visual design, RealVue 3D Packager offers the freedom to explore different packaging concepts and review numerous design variants before a physical mock up is commissioned. RealVue 3D Packager offers the ability to preview the impact of a wide range of substrate and print related effects early on in the concept definition stages. These include substrate colour, thickness and texture as well as a wide range of print finishing effects such as UV varnish, opaque whites, embossing and foils. RealVue 3D Packager synchronises in real time with Adobe Illustrator updating the 3D model as artwork is added or modified. This offers a working 3D reference throughout the creative design process allowing designers to experiment and preview changes on screen. Files can be exported to clients in a portable 3D format offering viewing and annotation within a standard web browser. RealVue 3D Packager s unique multi viewpoint animated folding sequence allows stakeholders to view the construction of the final product from flat substrate to fully folded state. 3 How to install RealVue 3D Packager Windows version This document describes the installation procedure for RealVue 3D Packager on the Windows platform. Before you start, make sure you have the following: Permanent or temporary licence number Compatible hardware see specifications below Adobe Illustrator CS 3 or higher The PC is connected to the internet Minimum recommended hardware specification for RealVue 3D Packager Application: Intel CoreTM 2 Quad, 200GB HDD, 4 GB RAM, Graphics card: Geforce 7 (or equivalent) with 512MB of RAM Supported software environments: Windows: XP, Vista, 7 Mac: OS X 10.6 and 10.7 Adobe Illustrator CS3, CS4 and CS5 Note: Viewing PVU or html output from RealVue 3D Packager: To be able to view 3D visualisations at the highest quality, a good quality graphics card is essential such as Geforce 7 (or equivalent) with 512MB of video RAM. Using video cards with less RAM or processing capability may be possible but will result in the 3D visualisation being displayed at lower resolution, less smooth animation, slower re draw times or an otherwise compromised viewing experience. 4 Locate the software installer, either downloaded from our website or received on the DVD. Before typing in and activating the licence, ensure that you are connected to the internet, otherwise the software cannot be activated.

9 11 Once installed, the shortcut for the application will appear in the start bar: To start the application, go to Start/Programs/FFEI/RealVue 3D Packager 12 When launching the software for the first time, the licensing window will open. Before typing in and activating the licence, ensure that you are connected to the internet, otherwise the software cannot be activated. 10 Note: Licensing overview When you purchase a copy of RealVue 3D Packager you are supplied with a licence. This is in the form of a 20 character number (three sets of six digits separated with a hyphen) This allows you to run a single copy of the software. To run the software on any machine, it first needs to be activated. This is achieved using the Licensing window, which is always displayed when the software is launched but not activated. Automatic activation or deactivation requires that your machine is connected to the Internet. This is because the licence is validated using the Nalpeiron licence service, which relies on connectivity to their servers. Manual activation or deactivation is possible when your machine is not connected to the Internet, however you will need our assistance. You will need to supply the following pieces of information: Licence Number: (As supplied by FFEI Ltd.) Installation ID: This is displayed in the Licensing screen when the product is launched in an inactive state. Or can be displayed at any time from the Help pull down menu. Contact FFEI Ltd. Quoting the information above, we will send you a special code which can then be entered in place of your Licence number. The licensing window can be displayed at any other time from the Help pull down menu. If you wish to move the software to another machine but don t want to purchase a second licence, you MUST initially deactivate the software on the first machine. Again this is achieved using the Licensing window.!!! Note: Before deactivation, ensure that you have made a note of the licence number. Ensure that you click the Deactivate button. Clicking on the Remove button will permanently disable the licence. There is no limit to the number of times the software can be activated or deactivated. If you are going to reload the application software or operating system on your machine you should always deactivate RealVue 3D Packager. 11 How to uninstall RealVue 3D Packager Win version Note: If you intend to use the software on another machine, you MUST de activate your licence before you start this procedure. Use the Control Panel application (i.e. Add or Remove Programs Windows XP or Programs and Features Windows 7/Vista) to remove RealVue 3D Packager.
