1 ONUMA System Cobie Configuration Guide The ONUMA System fully supports the Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBIE) Standard as established by the buildingsmartalliance: The ONUMA System provides a free public COBie Validator for COBie Excel files 2.26 and 2.4: The ONUMA System is a web based BIM Server that allows various methods to work with COBie data: Create a BIM by Importing a COBie file into the ONUMA System Merge a BIM from a CAD application with COBie Data Create a BIM in ONUMA Once the Building Information Model is captured in the ONUMA System, it can be updated, altered, amended or in any other way modified. Intelligent controls support the user to keep the model in compliance with COBie rules. The user can export the current state of a BIM at any time as a fully COBie compliant file. Merging a file from Revit with COBie Data a. Import a BIMXML file created from a Revit Model b. Add COBie data with the BIM FM importer 3. Creating a BIM in ONUMA a. Build up a BIM model by importing and/or modeling floors, spaces, components, etc. Add all COBie information directly through the ONUMA interface or by importing template files with the required data. 4. View the COBie data in ONUMA with a full model in Navisworks or Revit with the respective ONUMA Plugins 5. Export a fully compliant COBie file for any stage at any point in the above processes. The ONUMA System controls the compliance by automatically checking the integrity of the model and the uniqueness of relational keys for COBie.

2 1. Importing a COBie file into the ONUMA System! a) ONUMA provides a one-button import of entire COBie Excel files: 1. Add a new Scheme from a COBie Excel file. This will add a Building Information Model (BIM) to a new site in ONUMA. 2. Specify which classification has been used to classify spaces and building components. (various versions of OmniClass or your own classification system) 3. Proceed to import the COBie file.! b) Updating and amending BIM data in ONUMA!! i) Building Systems Select Building Settings to add information and documents to the building systems and to review the lists of Components that are part of each building system.

3 !! ii) Component Types Select Type Settings to add and modify a wide range of BIM data relating to Component Types, such as Type Information, unlimited Attributes, Spare parts, recurring Jobs, and to attach and review submittals and other documents relating to these Types.

5 2. Merging a file from Revit with COBie Data! a) Import a BIMXML file created from a Revit Model Export the Revit Model with the ONUMA Plugin to BIMXML and import it into ONUMA into a new Site/Scheme. Data contained in the Revit Model will be transferred into ONUMA with the BIMXML file. As a first normalization step, you will have to make sure that all space numbers are unique. Use the Space Settings panel for a quick visual check. Spaces with duplicate space numbers are marked as such. Renumber duplicate numbers to fit the architectural room numbering scheme. Export all Component data into an Excel file to rename components that donʼt have a unique Mark or instance name. Reimport the data to update the component information.

6 You are now ready to Export all building information data as BIM FM Data. This export is a folder of individual Excel templates to guide the user to collect all COBie data needed for the deliverable. The data for this origin may be a COBie file from another application, exported schedules from other CAD applications, lists of equipment data in the form of Excel files, or any other source.! b) Add the COBIe data to the model with the BIM FM Data importer Import the previously created BIM FM Data files into the same building model where it was originally exported. This process amends all the data required by the deliverable to the model in the ONUMA BIM Server.

7 3. Creating a BIM in ONUMA Build up a model from program requirement Excel spreadsheet, BPie COBIe, SEPS, drofus or other programming requirement applications. Add equipment directly from within the application or import them in tabular format. 4. View the COBie data in ONUMA with a full model in Navisworks or Revit The ONUMA Navisworks Plugin allows users without expensive CAD applications to view the merged models and access the LIVE COBie data in the ONUMA BIM Server. With the necessary access privileges the user can even update the COBie data in the Model Server directly from within Navisworks.

8 COBIe data stored in the ONUMA Server can also be accessed directly from within the Revit model through the ONUMA Plugin.

Export COBie Building Information Models that are in the ONUMA System can be exported as a 100% valid COBie file with a simple Export button at any time in the process, independent of the stage of the model such as early blocking and stacking in the preliminary design phase or as a full data model while being maintained during Operations & Maintenance.
