Mental Mathematis Pak Curriulum for Exellene LEVEL 3 (Book 3b) This Assessment Pak has been designed to enhane mental Mathematis. It is primarily designed to omplement Teejay s Book 3b, although it an be used as a free-standing unit for Mental Mathematis. Eah of the 20 assessments has 10 mental questions whih over TJ Book 3b in sequene. The Pak also inludes a set of 20 Support Sheets, eah one orresponding to a partiular mental assessment and onsists of 3 pratie questions for eah mental assessment question. 6 Mental Mathematis Pak (Support Sheets) Curriulum for Exellene Level 3 The following Support Sheets to be used with TJ Book 3b. These sheets are meant to be used in onjuntion with TeeJay s Mental Pak 3b. Senario 1 :- They an be used in a variety of ways :- The teaher ould, before attempting a partiular 10 question test, go over the assoiated questions, 1a, 2a, 3b et with the lass, then allow them to attempt 1b, 2b, 3b, et in the lass on their own and possibly attempt 1, 2, 3 et at home. This would prepare them for the atual 5 minute mental test the following day. Senario 2 :- The teaher ould, allow the lass to attempt 1a, 2a, 3b et without assistane and go over the questions, pointing out any errors. The lass ould then be allowed to attempt 1b, 2b, 3b, et in lass and then possibly attempt 1, 2, 3 et at home. This would prepare them for the atual 5 minute mental test the following day. Senario 3 :- The teaher ould read out question 1a, allow the lass to attempt it, and go over the answers or methods used to gain the answer. Then repeat for 2a, 3b, 4a, et. The teaher ould then read questions 1b, 2b, 3b, et as a pre-test and leave 1, 2, 3, et as post test onsolidation. TeeJay Publishers 2016 page 5
