New CadnaA - Features Version hm - page 1 of 39 -
Standards/Guidelines New Austrian road guideline RVS 4.02 implemented The new Austrian road guideline RVS 4.02 has been implemented. This offers daily and hourly traffic data (JDTV, MSV) for all three time intervals day/evening/night. Dialog Configuration Country Austria - page 2 of 39 -
Standards/Guidelines New German aircraft noise guideline AzB (darft 2007) implemented In conjunction with the new German Act on Aircraft Noise the calculation procedure AzB has been modified and is now implmeneted (with draft 2007). The main changes compared with AzB (1975) are: segmentation procedure using straight lines terrain is considered ground noise modelled for separate aircraft tracks modelling of helicopter tracks modified emission data for severeal aircraft groups margin considering the spread of flight directions based on data covering the last 10 years Dialog Configuration County (user defined) AzB 07 - page 3 of 39 -
Calculation Multithreading for calculations CadnaA supports multi-threading for calculations of noise grids and façade levels. On the dialog "Multithreading" you can decide alternatively to use a single, all available, or a distinct selection of processors to be used for a calculation job. For a PC with two quad-core CPUs eight processes are displayed on the Windows- Task-Manager, all running at 100% CPU-capacity. Imagine: You require just a single CadnaA-licence for a multi-core PC able to handle up to 8 processes in parallel! In addition, the hardware costs are reduced compared with 8 single PCs! CadnaA- Dialog "Multithreading" (Options menu Multi-Threading) Windows Task-Manager with 8 processors working parallel - page 4 of 39 -
Calculation Several CADNAA.INI-files possible When quitting CadnaA all relevant program setting and configurations are stored in the CADNAA.INI in the Windows-directory. Now, multiple INI-files are possible, controlled via the command line editor having the following structure: C:\Programme\DataKustik\CadnaA /ini=xxx.ini OR C:\Programme\DataKustik\CadnaA /ini=c:\directory\xxx.ini This file link will start CadnaA with the settings stored in the file xxx.ini. Properties of file link CADNAA1 - page 5 of 39 -
CadnaA Program Features CadnaA New features Calculation Austrian industry guideline ÖAL 28: new options 1. DeltaLs without Limit: With activated option the limitation of screening attenuation DeltaLs is ignored. 2. Sources in Building/Cylinder do not shield: With this option activated the screening for sources the x,y,z-coordinates of which are inside a building or cylinder is not considered. This option enables - for instance - to model the radiation from stacks based on emission data including the screening effect already. Dialog Configuration Industry (County: Austria) - page 6 of 39 -
Calculation Austrian road guideline RVS 4.02: percentage of light/heavy trucks with noise reduction specified separately On the road dialog the percentage of light trucks with noise reduction and of heavy trucks with noise reduction is now specified separately. Dialog Road (Standard: RVS 4.02) - page 7 of 39 -
Calculation Meteorology accord. to German VBUI selectable With implementation of the European Environmental Noise Directive in Germany, a meteological correction C0 for day/evening/night = 2/1/0 db is prescribed. Dialog Configuration Industry (standard: ISO 9613) - page 8 of 39 -
Calculation Change when treating lateral diffraction with ISO With calculation accord. to ISO the receiver level including buildings and terrain could be higher, than just with terrain (e.g. with the buildings deactivated). The cause for this unexpected result is due to lateral screening: When calculating the screening effect by terrain no lateral screening is calculated. With an additional bulding, however, the effect by lateral screening around the building is added. This could at ceratin location cause an increase of the level. In order to avoid this unrealistic effect, CadnaA 3.7 applies a modified strategy: In case the screening effect by the building is smaller than without the building (i.e. terrain only) the screening effect ignoring the building is considered. The application of this strategy can be deactivated via a local textblock OPT_OLD_CALC with the text "SBEUG_X115=1". to present: level due to lateral screening is higher with building than without now: level due to lateral screening with building cannot be higher than without - page 9 of 39 -
Calculation French road noise standard NMPB: switchable emission model With the French road noise standard NMPB selected the emission model can be switched among NMPB, Mithra und EN (i.e. EC-directive 2003/613/EG). emission modell for NMPB switchable - page 10 of 39 -
Calculation Emission model NMPB-FER now applies two emission heights Within the emission model NMPB-FER now two emission heights are applied: 0.05 m and 0.8 m above rail surface. The train classes accord. to NMPB-Fer are available for download from the DataKustik web-site. Import via File menu Import FileType: Mithra Trains (to Tables (local) TrainClasses). Train Classes NMPB-Fer (Tables (local) TrainClasses) - page 11 of 39 -
Calculation QSI-statistics according to DIN Annex F (quality management) Annex F of DIN (Acoustics Software products for the calculation of the sound propagation outdoors Quality requirements and test conditions, ed.: May 2006) describes a statistical qualification procedure for level differences in a situation based on two different configuration settings. From the level differences at at least 20 receiver points between two configuration settings (reference and project configuration) the 0.1- and the 0.9- quantiles are estimated and stated. access of QSI-dialog - Statistical Analysis QSI-analysis: results for 20 newly-generated receiver points - page 12 of 39 -
Calculation Option MITHRA with NMPB-Fer: source location shifted With MITHRA-compatibility activated (requires option MITHRA) and NMPB-Fer selected for railway noise, the source is shifted towards the receiver points by half of the rail's spur width. With MITHRA-compatibility deactivated the emission origiantes - as before - from the center line. emission line shifted towards the receiver (with rays generation activated) - page 13 of 39 -
Calculation Air attenuation for ISO can be specified The air attenuation for calculations according to ISO can be referenced by an absorption spectrum. To this end, generate a spectrum in the local library "Absorptions" with the ID "SYS_ATM_ABSORB". The values have to be specified in db/km. definition of user-defined ISO-air attenuation in the local libary "Absorptions" - page 14 of 39 -
Calculation Austrian railway guideline S considers hourly allocation With the Austrian railway guideline S the hourly allocation D/E/N (tab Reference Time) is considered. In tab Railway the specified hourly allocation is displayed dynamically. dynamic display of hourly allocation D/E/N on tab Railway (country: Austria) - page 15 of 39 -
Calculation Textblock CALC_TIME generated also for calculations with single receivers As before just with grid and façade calculations now informations on a calc run even for single receiver calculations are stored in the local textblock CALC_TIME. The number of receivers, the calculation time required, and the start and end time in seconds are stored. local textblock CALC_TIME at the end of a calculation run - page 16 of 39 -
Calculation Option BPL: horizontal distance for optimisable source accord. to DIN In the configurations of option BPL ("Backtracing of Power Levels") it can be specified that the horizontal distance for the calculation of divergence shall be used (complies with specifications in DIN 45691: Noise Allotment). option BPL: horizontal distance with optimisable sources - page 17 of 39 -
Objects and Object-Operations ObjectTree ObjectTree (Tables menu) enables to arrange the objects of a project in a hierarchic tree structure. Background of this feature is to sort objects (sources, obstacles, receivers) into groups. Thus, it may be useful to define the two main groups "factory_a" and "traffic", where the factory is further subdivided in "sources outside" and the different production areas. The sources are then linked to these subgroups. On menu Tables ObjectTree Sound Power Level a table of sound power levels is produced. The sound power levels of all sources linked to a group are added energetically and presented as the sound power level of the group. After calculation a table of the partial levels of all sources at all receivers can be produced via Tables ObjectTree Partial levels. This table shows not only the partial levels produced by each source, but also these produced by all sources of a group together. ObjectTree: Definition ObjectTree: Partial Level per group - page 18 of 39 -
Objects and Object-Operations Dialog "Building Noise Map": façade points accord. to VBEB The segmentation of facades according to the German VBEB-procedure applies a different strategy than specifyable by the default CadnaA-settings. dialog Building Noise Map - page 19 of 39 -
Objects and Object-Operations New attributes for façade points Attribute FAC_EINW_V CENTER_X CENTER_Y CENTER_ANG Remarks inhabitants per façade point accord. to VBUS (= inhab_total / No_of_façade_points) In comparison to FAC_EINW the attribut FAC_EINW_V ist not referenced to façade length and - therfore - matches with the requirements in the VBEB-procedure. x-coordinate of the buildings center point y-coordinate of the buildings center point angle between the buildings center point and the each facade point (North = Zero) The data of the façade points can be exported as a report table (keyword: #(Table, FacPoint). - page 20 of 39 -
Objects and Object-Operations Polygons: new attributes PO_HABS and PO_HGND By the new attributes PO_HABS (polygon height absolute) and PO_HGND (polygon height ground) all points of a polygon (list of points, dialog Geometry) can be set to a common height or ground height. When reading PO_HABS and PO_HGND the average will be displayed. Via the dialog "Modify Objects Modify Attributes" the additional attributes PO_HGND[MIN MAX] and PO_HGND[MIN MAX] are available. This enables - for instance - to delete all heights points upon condition (e.g. all height points below zero height). - page 21 of 39 -
Objects and Object-Operations Road: new road sections + display additional with with single-track roads On dialog "Road Width" additional cross-sections (Q1..3-RAS, Q1..4-RAL) can be selected. 23 Objects and Object-Operations Road: selection of cross-section respects additional widths When selecting a pre-defined cross-section the respective additional width refering to the entire road profile is copied to the dialog "Geometry" in part "Self-Screening". This feature faciliates the consideration of ground absorption fopr the entire road width (see also: dialog Configuration, tab Ground Absorption). selection of RQ 9: additional width left/right: 3 m each definition of additional width based on selection of cross-section - page 23 of 39 -
Objects and Object-Operations Road: automatical calculation of road gradients With selection of Road Gradient: auto the gradient of roads made of several road sections is calculated automatically. In this case, the displayed emission value (e.g. Lm,E with RLS-90) does not consider any gradient correction. But, the gradient correction is calculated for each road section automatically and considered when calculating propagation. On the list box Road Gradient it is selectable into which direction the traffic flows on the two outer lanes. The abbreviations VA, AV, AA and VV designate the traffic direction on the outer lanes, as seen from the first to the last point of the road. The type of road gradient can also be specified by using the attributes STEIG abnd STEIG_AUTO. Raod Gradient: auto - page 24 of 39 -
Objects and Object-Operations Plot-Designer: symbol cell (North arrow) with rotation PlotDesigner allows now to rotate symbol cells by entering an angle. Alternatively, the rotation angle can refer to a rotated section. The rotation angle of a section can be referred to in symbol cells (e.g. North arrow) in PlotDesigner. - page 25 of 39 -
