3 QR Scanning Features Part 1 Part 2 Home Screen Select SCAN ORIGINAL THEME to start scanning and parsing of QR Code Successful validation of all tags, length and value will result in the following: Part 1 - the full Merchant IDs in Tags are shown. Merchant IDs in Tags are generated using the Luhn algorithm Part 2 the data parameters are shown in numerical order with their respective value Errors will be flagged via a descriptive error message* *SEE SLIDE 5&6 FOR ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES 3

4 QR Generation Features QR Scanning Successful QR Generation Fails Prompt user that there are errors in the QR code that needs to be corrected Regenerate QR Code Regenerate QR Code (based on QR code scanned) whereby the sequence of tags will be rearranged in numerical order Tags, length and value of QR Code generated will be displayed Incorrect tags that prevent a QR code generation will be flagged Note that CRC generated might be different from QR scanned due to the rearrangement of the order sequence of the tags QR Generation Feature Stricter Protocols than Scanning The Scanning Feature is designed with more flexibility and will allow missing data in non-essential fields The Generation Feature is designed to prompt users even if non-essential fields are missing or are in the wrong format As a result, there can be possible scenarios in which QR scanning is successful whereas the QR generation fails 4

5 QR Scanning Error Codes 1 2 Examples of Error Messages in the Tester App ERROR: THESE [TAG_02_MERCHANT_IDENTIFIER_VISA, TAG_03_MERCHANT TAG_51_MERCHANT IDENTIFIER] ARE MISSING" "ERROR WHILE GENERATING LUHN CHECKSUM FOR TAG: [TAG_04_MERCHANT_IDENTIFIER_MASTERCARD] THE STRING IS NOT NUMERIC: Z" Explanation of the Error This error means that no merchant ID is found This error means that there is a format error in the Merchant IDs under Tags 02 to 05. Please note that there is no active check for the length of the Merchant ID and users should be careful to input 15 digit numeric Merchant ID as directed by Mastercard. 3 [TAG_04_MERCHANT_IDENTIFIER_MASTERCARD] The string is not numeric: Z This error means that the format of the data is not in numeric format as required ERROR: THE TAG [TAG_52_MERCHANT_CATEGORY_CODE] ARE MISSING "ERROR: THE TAG 'TAG_52_MERCHANT_CATEGORY_CODE' VALUE AS '123A' IS UNKNOWN" ERRORS: THE TAG 'TAG_56_CONVENIENCE_FEE_FIXED' VALUE AS '0.0' IS INVALID This error means that the an mandatory tag is missing. This error means that the format of the data value is incorrect. This error means that the numeric value being entered is not supported. NOTE: NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST 5

6 QR Scanning Error Codes Examples of Error Messages in the Tester App ERROR: STRING WITH TIP CONVENIENCE INDICATOR VALUE '03' MUST CONTAIN TAG '57 ERROR: THE 'TAG_63_CRC' VALUE AS 'FG88' IS INVALID. "ERROR: THE TAG "70" IS UNKNOWN ERROR: THE TAG "T6" IS UNKNOWN [TAG_56_CONVENIENCE_FEE_FIXED] FROM ROOTTAG STRING WITH TIP CONVENIENCE INDICATOR VALUE '02' MUST CONTAIN TAG '56' ARE MISSING Explanation of the Error This error indicates a condition has not been met. This error means that the CRC cannot be validated. An Unknown Tag error may be caused by one of the following: - wrong length of value including leading or trailing spaces - wrong tag format - missing data resulting in unrecognised formats in QR's TLV sequence A pre-requisite condition Tag must be first fulfilled before this tag can be used. 11 [TAG_00_LANGUAGE_PREFERANCE] FROM ROOTTAG 64 ARE MISSING Language preference shall contain 2 alphabetical characters coded to a value defined by [ISO 639] NOTE: NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST 6

Tag 56 s value should not be 0 when the value of Tag 55 is 2 indicating that there is a presence of a fixed convenience fee Tag 57 s value should not be 0 when the value of Tag 55 is 3 indicating that there is a presence of a percentage convenience fee This error means that the an mandatory tag is missing. 8 QR Generation Error Codes Examples of Error Messages in the Tester App An Unknown Tag error may be caused by one of the following: - wrong length of value including leading or trailing spaces - wrong tag format - missing data resulting in unrecognised formats in QR's TLV sequence [TAG_00_LANGUAGE_PREFERANCE] FROM ROOTTAG 64 ARE MISSING The tag 'TAG_00_PAYLOAD_FORMAT_INDICATOR' value as '001' is invalid Explanation of the Error "ERROR: THE TAG "70" IS UNKNOWN ERROR: THE TAG "T6" IS UNKNOWN Language preference shall contain 2 alphabetical characters coded to a value defined by [ISO 639] The Payload Format Indicator shall contain a value of "01".
