1 NERC MOD List of Acceptable Models and Model Library Block Diagrams for Use in Dynamic Simulation (MOD-026-1, R1) PJM Interconnection Original Document Date: July 1, 2014 Current Document Date: March 29, 2016 Version 2
2 List of Acceptable Models for Dynamic Simulation This document contains the list of acceptable excitation control system or plant volt/var control function models per NERC Standard MOD Requirement R1. For the RFC region, the acceptable standard models are listed in Appendix A in accordance with the latest list approved by the RFC Dynamic Model Technical Discussion Forum DMTDF. Applicable Registered Entities within ReliabilityFirst are required to use only those models on the RFC Approved Models List when developing dynamic stability data sets for submittal. The list of acceptable models will be reviewed periodically and updated, as needed, for MOD For the SERC region, all standard models in the PSS/E Model Library are acceptable. In order to accurately simulate the performance of the interconnected electric systems, detailed rather than classical dynamics models are utilized. Standard PSSE models shall be used, except as noted below, to make the database as widely useable as possible. User defined models may be utilized when the response cannot be represented by a standard PSSE model. Models are included of all equipment that significantly influences the performance of the bulk power system. The objective is to provide interregional dynamics databases and dynamics simulation cases that can be used to accurately evaluate the performance of the Eastern Interconnection. List of Acceptable Model Library Block Diagrams and/or Data Sheets To obtain the acceptable dynamic model library block diagrams and/or data sheets for dynamic simulation models, please contact PTI for the PSS/E Manual document Model Library.pdf.
