4 FEATURES The Profi 3 is an allrounder when it comes to mobile inspection systems. The base device can be utilized with either the Kummert crawler or with all push cameras and reels and, therefore, covers a range of use from DN40 to DN1000. Seat - Storage Space - Push Support The supplied chair offers more than just convenient seating during inspection - it also provides useful storage for centering aids, writing pads, pens etc. Mounted onto the base device, the chair even assists in pushing the Profi 3. High-Performance Processor The Intel Core i5 processor is the heart of the Profi 3 and delivers stunning visuals, as well as an automatic burst of speed when required. Concurrent recording of videos and 3D pipe plan creation during inspection are carried out smoothly and without system delays. Integrated Battery Pack The standard integrated battery allows for three hours of uninterrupted operation. After a charging process of only two hours, the battery is ready for its next use. Maneuverability in any Space Continuously rotating front wheels allow for the device to be moved and positioned requiring only a minimum of space. The handbrake is applied prior to inspection, keeping the Profi 3 in place. 44

5 P 1 Monitor The daylight-viewable 12.1 color display with an antireflection surface delivers a clear view in any weather. The cover protects the monitor during transport and works as a sun shield in bright sunlight. 1 2 Control Panel As a base device, the Profi 3 manages the entire crawler and camera operation with its perfectly programmed components on the control panel. The 3-axis-joystick always controls the camera, the smaller 1-axis-joystick the crawler. 2 3 Pen Tablet and Magnetic Pen All commands and data are conveniently input via pen tablet and magnetic pen. Therefore, the Profi 3 is resistant to dirt on one hand, yet can still be operated with gloves on the other. 4 Twin-Tires 3 Four soft, 16 cm (6.3 ) large rubber rear tires enable a secure standing and ensure that the Profi 3 is easily rolled about. 4

6 DEVICE SOFTWARE To capture all data required, the software contains every current German damage catalog, as well as multiple foreign standards in the respective national language. GOOD TO KNOW WHERE YOU RE AT GIS Map Import In order to establish a relationship to various sites, several plan and drawing functions are available. Map drawings and even GIS maps can be imported in a fast and simple manner. Manholes and drainage objects supplement the imported map data and serve as the starting and end points of an inspection. The objects can be moved around freely or placed accurately via measurements. OR Location Sensing via GPS Even if no plan data is available, the Profi 3 offers a solution: For Germany, the device has stored more than 50.5 million state-surveyed buildings and their coordinates. The integrated GPS receiver detects the current location and displays all buildings in the area. The desired houses can be selected with just one click, upon which can3d creates corresponding three-dimensional, georeferenced models. 66

7 AND WHAT LIES UNDERNEATH Status Documentation To conduct the survey in an effective and simple manner, the user is guided by an intuitive user interface. Just one click opens the list of possible observations. Applicable damage descriptions according to the previously selected damage catalog can now be selected from the list. Thanks to subsequent text overlay, all entries are fully editable before the project is finalized during export in the office. AND Pipe Run Documentation During inspection, the system captures not only the status but also the run of the pipes. Depending on the mounted camera head, data for bends, branches and incline/decline are either automatically captured or manually entered. This information is used to create a real-time, three-dimensional model of the pipe run, which is displayed next to the live image. Best of all: Measurements are fully integrated into the inspection process, thus requiring no extra time.

8 CAMERAS Kummert push cameras stand out due to their sleek shape and flexible fabric tubing, thus navigating sharp bends easily as well as not becoming hooked when pulled back. The smooth-edged cameras also make for trouble-free cleaning. 1 K-28 2 K-35 The K-28 is the smallest one in the line of cameras as well as the only model that is non-detachably connected to its 20 meter push rod. Featuring a diameter of 28 mm, the camera can be used to survey pipes of DN40 and up. 3 equal-white LEDs guarantee the optimal illumination of the pipe. The 2.2 mm super wide angle lens is enclosed by epoxide resin and stainless steel. This material composition reduces tension on the panes and makes the K-28 more robust. The K-35 is suited for pipes of DN50 and up. Its 12 white high brightness LEDs illuminate the pipe interior perfectly. The camera features a fixed focus, as well as a super wide angle lens of 2.2 mm, which is in focus in the range of 3 cm bis 30 cm. In combination with a centering sleeve, the camera s span of application is extended to diameters of DN70 and up, in connection with a centering trolley to diameters of even DN100 and up. 1 88

9 3 K-50D The K-50D is the most current innovation by Kummert in the line of push cameras and can be used for inspecting dimensions starting at DN70. The camera can be operated in two modes. The complete picture mode displays the entire viewable pipe area on screen, the tele mode captures an image section and zooms in on it. To look at the section from all angles, it can now be virtually panned. Flashing LEDs facilitate the outstanding quality of the always upright image, thus ensuring that a still image can be taken from any video image. Furthermore, the integrated locating transmitter allows for the localization of the camera K-50D in any pipe at any time. 2 4 K-70/K-70L The well-proven pan and tilt cameras for pipes of DN100 and up do not miss a single thing during inspection. This attribute results from an infinite pan range, a high tilt range of +/- 115 and 10 white highpower LEDs, which ensure the optimal illumination of the pipe s depth. Additional highlights are the motor-controlled focus and the automatic self-leveling mechanism. Both cameras are filled with an internal pressure of 1 bar, which is secured by an internal pressure control. The difference between the two cameras: The K-70L features two high-grade laser diodes for exact measurements of the pipe diameter during inspection. 3 4

10 CAMFLEX Moving into laterals without any auxiliary insertion guide - the CamFlex is THE camera for the inspection of complex pipe networks in one continuous process! The branch-navigating camera CamFlex surveys an entire pipe network against the direction of flow and without interruption. Its capacity to bend itself from a straight position up to a 90 angle ensures that nearly all laterals from DN100 to DN200 can be moved into and, on top of that, multiple laterals one after the other. Even 90 bends are smoothly navigated by the CamFlex from DN125 and up. During inspection, the integrated sensors inside the camera capture all data that are needed to create a three-dimensional pipe plan in real time. Furthermore, the sensors detect the dimensions of laterals and measure the angles of bends and laterals. The excellent image quality is actually guaranteed by several camera features. On one hand, 18 white highpower LEDs perfectly illuminate the pipe. On the other hand, the camera is equipped with a motor-controlled focus, which is adjusted to a range between 5 mm and infinity. Furthermore, the always upright image ensures the optimal orientation during inspection. P 1010

12 REELS All reels differ in their rod length and diameter. Although interchangeable, they are purpose-built for each individual camera. To ensure the best possible pipe bend mobility and push performance over a great distance, each camera should be operated with its designated reel. Accurate to a Centimeter When the base device is turned on, the reel s meter counter takes precise measurements as soon as the push rod is moved. The covered distance is displayed on the base unit s screen. Well Restraint The applied reel lock prevents unwanted unreeling of the push rod. To release the lock pin, simply turn it and continue with the inspection, while the freewheel brake controls the rod s coasting speed. Foolproof Assembly The reel s fastening hooks fit on every Kummert base device. No complex assembly is necessary - just lifting the reel and hooking it in. 13 ACCESSORIES 1 HR-70 Locating Transmitter Using the locating transmitter and a separately supplied locator, a camera s position can easily be tracked during inspection. Positioning data are sent with a frequency of 512 Hz. Featuring a short hose on either side, the locating transmitter is mounted between the camera and the rod. Hence, the connected camera does not forfeit its ability to navigate bends. 1 2 Centering Aids K-35 When equipped with the centering sleeve, the K-35 is suited for the inspection of pipes from DN70. The centering trolley even allows for the inspection of dimensions between DN100 and DN150. Its wheels facilitate a smooth push motion. 2 3 K70/K-70L Centering Trolley The centering trolley is suited for the cameras K-70/K- 70L in pipe diameters from DN150 to DN wheels ensure a steady push operation. They also elevate and, therefore, protect the camera in the pipe. 4 K-70/K-70L Centering Trolley with Additional Lighting Featuring 24 high brightness LEDs, the centering trolley with additional lighting provides for an optimal illumination of all pipe dimensions between DN200 and DN400. The centering trolley is quickly assembled. Via a screw and plug connection, the K-70/K-70L is fixated in the trolley, which will then be mounted to the reel. 3 4

15 When the crawler was engineered, modularity was one of the top priorities, thus integrating the device perfectly into the Kummert product family. And with its various sets of wheels and wheel spacers, the crawler is optimally suited for the inspection of pipes with dimensions from DN150 to DN1000.

16 High Image Quality As soon as the base device is turned on, 16 high-power, equal-white LEDs flash continuously and offer sufficient illumination in any pipe. The progressive recordings are of sharp quality, thus allowing for a still image to be created from any video image. Continuously Variable Lift Arm The crawler camera is permanently fixated to the lift arm, which can be continuously adjusted in height. The arm lifts or lowers as soon as the pipe diameter is entered, bringing the camera into centered position in the pipe between DN200 and DN800. Drive and Control The crawler stands out due to its rugged powertrain and simple control system. Four powerful EC motors drive each wheel individually. The speed settings can be adjusted to four different speed levels, and the built-in speed control keeps the desired speed with the push of two buttons. 1616

17 FEATURES Automatic Roll-Over Protection In order to keep the crawler in the invert, an internal sensor measures the slope of the lateral axis. As soon as a deviation is detected, the crawler is automatically being steered back into the invert and, therefore, kept from rolling over. Locating Included An integrated 512 Hz locating transmitter ensures that the crawler can be localized in the pipe at any time. Optionally, the transmitter can also be operated with a frequency of 640 Hz.

18 CABLE DRUM The extremely robust cable drum is primarily made of anodized aluminum and only a few plastic elements. To better meet the job requirements, two equal models with a cable length of either 200 m or 320 m are available. Integrated Meter Counter When cable is unwound, the meter counter immediately takes precise measurements. The meter count can be reset to zero via a button on the control panel at any time. Heavy-Duty Cable The Kevlar reinforced cable ensures a high tensile strength. In the unlikely event of the crawler becoming stuck in the pipe, it can be simply pulled out by the sheer force of the cable drum and the cable. 1818

19 1 Automatic Un- and Rewinding The cable is guided over a lever with a built-in sensor. The lever s height adjusts according to the cable tension and the sensor identifies whether cable is to be given or rewound, thus offering several benefits for a survey. The crawler drives forward more smoothly and easily as the cable is always being unwound with a constant power. When the crawler stops, the unwinding process comes to an immediate halt as well. And when the crawler is being lifted out of the manhole, the sensor identifies this and sends the command for the cabel to be rewound in an steady and even manner. 2 Flexible Cable Guide 2 An innovative ring guide ensures that the cable can now be fed downwards in any direction, thus giving the user much more flexibilty in selecting the operating position for the cable drum. 3 Cable Drum Control Panel The crawler can also be operated via the control panel on the cable drum. Aside from the emergency switch and buttons for resetting the meter count and manually rewinding the cable, the panel features additional noteworthy operating controls: A two-axis-joystick controls the crawler. The height of the lift arm can be continuously adjusted via a rocker switch. The display shows the current meter count, lift arm height or the need to mount a set of wheel spacers, depending on the current action. 1 3

20 CRAWLER - ACCESSORIES Pulley The pulley helps protect the cable sheeth from abrasion by guiding the cable around any edge and angle from the manhole into the pipe. Spring latches in each guide facilitate the subsequent insertion of the cable, thus allowing for the crawler to be already connected to the cable drum and lowered into the manhole. 2020

21 1 Wheel Spacers and 2 Wheel Sets The crawler is ideally suited for the inspection of pipe dimensions from DN150 to DN1000 and is delivered with various sets of hard rubber wheels and wheel spacers. Variously sized granulated wheels for utilizing the crawler in concrete pipes can be aquired as optional accessories. In larger pipe dimensions, the two supplied wheel spacer sets work for the granulated wheels as well, and naturally, the simple process of changing wheels is guaranteed. 1 3 Laser Fixture To measure a potential deformation, a laser fixture is being attached to the camera head at the end of a survey, once the target manhole has been reached. While the crawler drives back to the start, the laser continuously scans the pipe s inner wall and the crawler camera keeps recording the laser ring. can3d uses the recordings to calculate data and create a corresponding 3D model of the deformed pipe. 2 Furthermore, captured deformation values can be displayed in a report, as well as supplemented with rehabilitation measures. 3

22 OFFICE-SOFTWARE for Project Preparation Projects can also be created and prepared in the office in advance, thus leaving maximum time on site to conduct a survey. As with the Profi 3, mapping and drawing features support a perfect ortientation from the very start. And in case no map data are available, OpenStreetMap.org can be accessed to import map sections of many places worldwide. Manholes and drainage objects are starting and end points of an inspection. These elements can be created prior to the inspection and positioned freely or placed accurately via measurements. Entering designations prior to conducting the actual survey fulfills important preliminary requirements for the correct naming of pipes and sewer sections to be inspected. 2222

23 and Data Processing Post-Editing The subsequent text overlay opens up completely new possibilities. All entries displayed in reports and videos can be corrected, completed or deleted. Even the 3D model of the pipe network remains fully editable until the end. Misdocumented bends and branches can be corrected in a quick and easy manner. Only a few mouse clicks are needed to connect pipes, sewer sections, manholes and drainage objects. Rehabilitation Measures The pipe plan created during inspection also establishes a basis for subsequent rehabilitation planning. Selection lists for measures can be edited freely and therefore, customized according to the respective job. Planned measures appear as colored markings with an extensive description in the map drawing and can further be displayed in conjunction with the corresponding observation. Documentation The software automatically creates well-arranged reports from all entered information. The configurator facilitates the customization of all reports to your company design. All output settings can be selected easily via the export wizard, enabling you to determine the kinds of information your customer receives for each individual project: reports, master data, CAD-compliant files and many more. A free-of-charge viewer software is created during export as well.
