The housing has the facility for optional items such as window demister/heater, internal window wiper mechanism and external sunshield. The unit is 401mm in length and is constructed from a 133.7mm diameter cylindrical tube with 154mm diameter end cover. The unit has a window of toughened glass cemented into place in one end cover, with the opposite end cover being either a blank end-cap or cable entry end-cap. The cable entry to the housing is via up to three M20 or 1/2"NPT entries on the rear endcap of the housing tube or via the tilt motor shaft attachment flange when mounted to the VMI-1420 Pan & Tilt Unit. The housing may optionally be fitted with an infra red transparent window glass for use with a thermal imaging camera, in which case a protective guard plate is factory fitted on the window end cover and secured in place. The camera housing has welded joints and is therefore subject to routine overpressure tests. The VMI-1420 Pan & Tilt Unit is used in conjunction with the VMI-1410 Camera Housing where installations require a moveable camera. The Pan & Tilt Unit is also constructed from AIAI316L stainless steel and can be fitted with either AC fixed speed or DV variable speed motors. The Pan & Tilt Unit is 300mm wide and 288mm high. It comprises of one cable entry in the end-cap which can either be 1/2"NPT, M20 or M25. The Pan & Tilt Unit end covers form cylindrical flamepaths and there are two cylindrical flamepaths for the motor shafts allowing for the pan and tilt movement. The Pan & Tilt Unit has welded joints and is therefore subject to routine overpressure tests. Both the Camera Housing and Pan & Tilt Unit have internal and external earthing points. This certificate also includes hybrid models (see drawings , TI-50, , and ) which have the capability to be used with both model ranges in the 14xx series or the larger version 24xx seies (see Certificate IEC ITS X for further details of the 24xx models). *T-Class is dependant on power rating, assembly configuration and ambient range. NOTE: The IR Illuminator is not provided with a fibre optic output as there is no data analysis function carried out within the enclosure, this contains a divergent light source and the associated light activation circuit with optional transformer only.

Correction and clarification of the Conditions of Use, and Conditions of Manufacture, applicable to this certification. Based on the following documentation: IECEx ITS X issue No 2 2. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF USE (X) The following correction is made, to confirm that the previous Condition of Use 5 is deleted, and is instead confirmed as a Condition of Manufacture (Routine Test) for the manufacturer of the equipment. All other Conditions remain. Conditions of Manufacture (Routine Tests) 1 (of 1): A routine overpressure test in accordance with IEC :2007 Clause 16.1 shall be carried out on all enclosures, including all cemented window assemblies, at a pressure of 27.3bar for a period of between 10 and 60 seconds and must be recorded. There shall be no deformation or damage to the enclosures and no leakage through the cement of any of the window assemblies or the welded joints. 3. This certification indicates compliance with R10.1 of the Mines Health and Safety Act and/or EMR 9(2) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, provided that the apparatus is used as relevant in accordance with: i) SANS and IEC/SANS requirements as applicable; ii) Any conditions mentioned in the above report; iii) Any relevant requirements and codes of practice enforced in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act or Occupational Health and Safety Act; and iv) Any restrictions and conditions enforced by the Chief Inspector of Mines or the Principal Inspector or the Chief Inspector: Occupational Health and Safety. v) A revision certificate replaces all previous version of the certificate. vi) * - Only covers equipment Imported between the Issued and Expire dates. vii) If and when your QAN (Quality Assurance Notification) Certificate for your equipment manufacturer expires during the valid period of the IA Certification (issued for your equipment) and a new certificate is not submitted the existing IA Certification will then be cancelled.
