Orders of Vice-Chancellor in the file of even no.dated ORDER Vide U.O read 1 st above, Choice based Credit Semester System and grading had been introduced for UG Curriculum, in affiliated colleges in the University, with effect from 2009 admission onwards and regulations implemented. Vide U.O read 2 nd above, orders were issued implementing the scheme and syllabus of B A Islamic History under Choice based Credit Semester System with effect from 2009 admission. Vide paper read 3 rd above, the Head of the Department, Department of Islamic History, Government College, Malappuram, had highlighted certain anomalies in the syllabus of the core paper IS3BO3 INFORMATICS, offered in III rd semester of B A Islamic History. The Board of Studies in Islamic History in its meeting held on , resolved to modify the IS3BO3,INFORMATICS, for B A Islamic History (Choice based Credit Semester System ) and entrusted the chairman to prepare the draft syllabus, Vide paper read 4 th above and submit the same.

2 2 Vide paper read 5 th above, the Chairman had forwarded the revised syllabus of IS3BO3,INFORMATICS, for B A Islamic History (Choice based Credit Semester System ) for implementation. The Vice-Chancellor after having considered the matter and in view of urgency, and exercising powers of Academic Council has approved Item No.I of the minutes of the meeting of the Board of Studies in Islamic History held on and the syllabus of IS3BO3,INFORMATICS, subject to ratification by Academic Council, vide paper read 6 th above. Orders are issued implementing the revised syllabus of INFORMATICS in III Semester of B A Islamic History under Choice based Credit Semester System in affiliated colleges with effect from 2009 admission onwards. Orders are issued accordingly. The U.O read second stands modified to this extent. The syllabus is appended herewith. Aim of the course:- To update and expand basic information skills and attitudes relevant to the emerging knowledge society and also to equip the students to effectively utilise the digital knowledge resources for their chosen courses of study. 2. Objectives of the course:- 1. To review the basic concepts and functional knowledge in the field of ICT. 2. To review functional knowledge in a standard office packages and popular utilities in ICT. 3. To create awareness about nature of emerging knowledge society based on ICT. 4. To create awareness about social issues and concerns in the use of ICT. 5. To create awareness about major ICT initiatives in India and Kerala. 6. To impart skills to enable students to use ICT learning. 3.
