1 APICS CPIM Reconfiguration Partner Webinar FAQs Professional Development Question When we decide to start using the new material, can we return courseware that we have already bought for the legacy material? ICP has the same discount as members, but ICP has an extra workload managing and checking memberships that will not show up in extra compensation for the extra work. Is that correct? Other than partner pricing, can the public pricing and timeline be shared with public? Can we share with our chapter? With our Boards? Will CLTD and CSCP get bundle pricing to align to CPIM? How frequently will membership info be updated to Holmes? What does pricing mean for category network partners? What kind of partnership is this? If partners decide to bundle training, how will candidates will be stopped by APICS on buying unbundled products directly from the APICS website? Not all international partners charge 44% more than in US. That depends on their particular countries. Is there an expectation that some partners will not find it possible to continue? Answer We will not be taking returns for legacy materials. Order wisely. ICP has a better discount than members. No immediate plans Daily Network partners are chapters who rarely hold classes; they have told APICS they are mostly focused on member networking APICS cannot control that. Any person can currently buy any APICS product (at member/nonmember rates) and partners still hold classes, so you must know how to deal with this. No. That is not an expectation. If that is a problem for a partner, they need to communicate with Global Services.

2 Will there be any updates to 2016/17 legacy courseware, since exams will be available until end of 2018? What was that about being only in electronic format? Could you repeat the date for the electronic material? What is the pricing for partners when we are purchasing for non-members? No. We will continue to post issues found in the instructor log and in an errata document (for candidates) on the CPIM Study Tools main page. Beginning January 1, 2018, the legacy MPR, DSP, ECO and SMR Participant Workbooks will only be available electronically. Rack rate for the CPIM Part 1 exam is $495, and $350 for student members (they have to have a student membership). Rack rate for the CPIM Part 2 exam is also $495, but there is no student discount for the CPIM Part 2 exam. Premier Partners will pay $345 for Plus Members and student members and $495 for Core Members or nonmembers. Partners will pay $395 for Plus Members and student members and $545 for Core Members or non-members. When should a student decide when to move to the twopart system versus current 5 modules? I.e. if they have taken two or three courses should they continue under existing format or switch to new system in fall When is the current BSCM module being phased out? In 2018 or in Q4 2017? We get orders for BASICS Q4 6 months before, which means from March-April onwards. How long will the current participant guides be available for purchase? BSCM? If the student has only passed Basics, they may want to consider waiting for Part 2. If they have passed any additional exams, they will have to weigh the costs and time-line issues to determine their course. We will stop selling the legacy BSCM courseware and exams when the new Learning Systems are released. The legacy BSCM exam will no longer be available after 12/31/2017

3 I have workshops starting MPR and DSP now, and won't finish up the legacy modules until 2018 as we are on a trisemester schedule. Will the legacy be available through most of 2018? Will BSCM (old) will be proposed in 2018 or only MPR, DSP etc. When will the book for the 2nd part come out? How long will the on-line test simulators be accessible as is? Current pricing currently hitting us hard with our shocking exchange rate. What are the maximum prices? What will the prices for Core members be? What are nonmember prices? What is nonmember pricing? I was told current BSCM goes away Sept 2017, is that true? Paper copies of the (MPR/DSP/ECO/SMR) Workbooks will be available through the end of Electronic copies of the Workbooks will be available through June 30, Sales for the legacy exams will be available through June 30, the exams will be available through 12/31/2018. Non-member or Core member pricing: Part 1 LS: $545; Exam: $545 Part 2 LS: $645; Exam: $645 In response to partner requests, the last date for BSCM Exams is now 12/31/2017. This is in response to partners who were scheduling Fall Basics classes because they didn't think they would be ready for a Part 1 class at that time. Courseware sales for BSCM will still end when the new Learning Systems are released (late August to early September), so careful inventory planning will be needed for the fall classes. We will not be accepting returns on legacy material after the sale of those materials end. Q3 courseware availability. Will that be available at the beginning of Q3? When will the 1st learning systems books and exam "voucher" be ready for purchase? Do I understand correctly that these are the prices that we can charge for exams and course for our markets? If all goes well, yes we're looking at late August/early September. No. Premier Partner, Partner and Network Partner pricing are what those partners pay. APICS does not determine what Partners charge.

4 What is the price of the slide books? How do I know what type of partner my chapter is? Who are classified as premier partners, channel or network partners? Can you clarify the definition of the different partner levels? What about Enterprise Members vs. Core Members? What will happen with the Accenture offering for e- learning when there are tools for blended and online learning? What will be cut out of the other modules? Will the ECM content change drastically or is this better described as repackaging the ECM to fit into two courses? We teach in the college environment. What is the chance of getting material for the Fall Semester? Do these consultants have to buy from the PCP in their region? Can we still call Part I "Basics of Supply Chain Management"? We use this in our marketing, and sell as stand-alone, as well as intro to CSCP. Please describe "the bundle" Is it the learning system and exam for both part 1 and 2? Is there an option just to buy the workbook and not complete learning system? What will be the price? $20.00 ea. Your District Manager or Channel Services can provide these answers. Core members pay non-member prices. Enterprise members pay Plus Member prices. We will continue to offer the Accenture product. It will continue with or without us. We are discussing the changes with them so that they can match their offering to the new configuration. No topics in the exam content outlines can be removed. We have not done a JTA, so the only change to the exam content outline will be some consolidation. Depending on when the semester starts, pretty slim. The new courseware is on a fast track, but we can't guarantee a specific delivery date yet. We believe it will be late August, early September. It would be great if they did, and there may be excellent reasons to do so, but we don't require that. "Previously known as Basics of Supply Chain Management." Think "formerly known as Prince." Keep the Part 1 in there. We want to encourage people to go after the certification, not the single course. The bundle is a Part 1 Learning System and exam AND a Part 2 Learning System and exam. No. The workbooks will be available for a period of time and ONLY to candidates who started their CPIM before the new Learning Systems were released. Everyone else will be directed to the new Learning Systems and exams.

5 Do you have to be a partner to purchase? Or can "any" consultant buy the teaching material? How should we acknowledge that so few candidates have actually used current CPIM study tools? and how might this affect this new model? Will APICS allow online training with new learning system? In regard to instructor led courses, is the new course configuration designed for remote instructing or class room? I note that the presentation talks about "online learning". Does this imply that APICS is changing its policy regarding online classes put on by chapters? Will BSCM have more content? I have a member who has taken one exam, just to confirm what you've just said. They should be able to switch to the new format and only have to take part 2? Could a person that earn BSCM in 2017 take module 2 in 2018? And be certified. So, I can take the current BSCM and then take the Part II for the full CPIM cert? How do you know that 75% of those who earned BSCM will never complete their CPIM? Perhaps a significant percentage of them are just in process. Anyone can buy the Instructor Kit. However, nonpartners will pay for the instructor kit AND 10 copies of the Learning System for any APICS Certification course. We want to see commitment, there are other ways to "kick the tires." There are always a percentage of candidates who do not use the current Study Tools or the online Learning Systems. But many candidates do and find these extras invaluable, so we are going to continue to grow our online tools. Stay tuned. We are working on an agreement our partners can use to do webinar type training for the public. Only partners who sign this (yet to be finalized) agreement can do public online training. Yes, especially in the online component Yes. Anyone who has passed either the current BSCM exam or the new Part 1 exam can take the new Part 2 exam and What we said is "75% of candidates who passed BSCM never earned CPIM." This is based on the number of candidates who passed Basics between 2008 and 2016 and did not earn their certification. Certainly, some may be "in process," but we looked at 8 years, and the numbers have been very consistent.

6 If they complete 3 of 5 modules, will they have to take the new exams as well? I guess if you are along any part of the current certification curriculum and don't finish by the changeover, you will have to at least take part 2 or start over? A member has taken two exams and three courses. Would you recommend to move forward with the other three exams and two courses? Can chapters get a list of local people who have passed BSCM so we can market Part 2? Can the chapter's get the names and s of people who have completed some of the modules so we can market locally to them to finish their certification? The to candidates in process that was mentioned - will this be sent from the Association, or Chapter? Will Chapters be advised who is "in process" so they have planning info for class planning? For a person who has already taken BSCM exam and passed, how long do they have to wait to take the next exam? For students who have started their journey to get their CPIM and are currently taking Basics of Supply Chain, if they don't complete certification by September what happens? Is there a bundle price for the instructor kits? What kind of discount in pricing for those who are already CPIM IDP instructor to take Part 1 & 2 exams? If they have passed 3 of the current exams, they have plenty of time to finish the other 2. Or they can wait and take the Part 2 exam, but they will have to answer questions for the exams they already passed again. Our recommendation is finish what you started. At this point it will be both cheaper and quicker! No. Privacy laws won't allow us to do that. However, APICS has a series of s going out to all those people and we are encouraging them to go to their partner for classes so that they can complete their CPIM with the legacy exams. They can continue taking the original exams immediately. If they want to wait until the new Exam 2 is available, that will be released 10/1/2017. We are extending the end date for the current BSCM to 12/31/207 as a response to partners who are holding BSCM classes in the fall. However, partners still need to plan ahead to buy the courseware before the new Learning Systems are available (late August/early September). If the candidates are not ready to take the current BSCM exam by 12/31/2017, they will have to take the new Part 1 exam. No. None.

7 The learning system margins for PCP are $75. Considering shipping and handling, PCP have nothing left. What is the pricing for the instructor kits? Part 1 and Part 2? What will APICS charge for instructor led bundled CPIM? How will changes to the printed material for the Instructor kits be handled? PCP margin for Part 1 is $75. PCP margin for Part 2 is $125. These margins are considerably higher than the current Participant Workbook margins. Part 1 Instructor Kit $495. Part 2 Instructor Kit $495 Premier Partners will pay $1380 for the bundle. The new instructor kits will be similar to the CSCP and CLTD instructor kits. Certification Question Why is there a cut score determination period when the content of part 2 will not change? Answer The delivery of the combined components into one exam along with the criteria that define a "minimally competent candidate" is very different from the candidate's experience when taking each module separately. For example, when a candidate takes ECO as a 75 question, 3-hour exam it is a very different experience from a candidate taking ECO in a combined context among 4 major subject areas in a 150 question 3 1/2-hour exam. Because of this difference, it is psychometrically invalid to rely on the previous performance of each exam individually. When the clock of expiration for the exam starts at time of purchase. Is this the purchase time of the customer (activation date)? or the purchasing date of the channel partner? Why will it be harder to take the new "BSCM" exam, apart from more questions at the exam? The clock expiration begins at the time of the partner makes the purchase. We do not anticipate the exam to be "harder" but rather more representative of real-life situations with the addition of new technology-enhanced items.

8 Can a partner purchase only bundled exams, w/o courseware? We have several members that have their CPIM and have used taking exams to earn maintenance points. Are these exams still worth 25 pts each for maintenance purposes? Just like CLTD - scores were submitted later, it was also mentioned if someone failed, they would receive another shot. Is this applicable for part 2? How will a candidate be linked to a "voucher" if it is bundled by and purchased by chapter? Will there still be a CFPIM designation? If I complete Part 1 of the system will I be getting a certificate? In 2016, Chapters were able to buy non-member exam credits (to resell) for $215. What is the new price for 2017? (Legacy exams, not the new P1-P2). What has caused the price of the Basics program and exam to be raised so high if it is covering the same material? Will testing still be done though the Pearson VUE network? What is the fee for the 2nd exam? Did I understand correctly that chapters do not purchase vouchers for specific individuals? Do they only get assigned to individuals at the time they purchase the ATT? Can partners issue their own certificate to people who pass part 1 exam? No, the only bundled product available is the combination of Part 1 & 2 Learning Systems and exams - 4 components. Maintenance points for retaking exams will not change and will still be worth 20 maintenance points as indicated in the existing maintenance bulletin. We are considering promotional opportunities for the new products and will update partners if/when a promotion has been decided. The chapter would be responsible for assigning the voucher to an individual. Training and details on this process will be forthcoming. Yes, however there will be changes to the CFPIM requirements given the new configuration. Details on these changes will be communicated by year end APICS will no longer issue a certificate for passing the Part 1 exam. However, individuals will receive an electronic "badge" that they can attach to their Linkedin profile to recognize this milestone. Pricing for all legacy CPIM exams will not change in The addition of new technology-enhanced items while expanding breadth of coverage in a longer exam format contributes to the increase in price. yes Please refer to the pricing tables included in the presentation Chapters may still purchase exam credits for individuals who are making single product purchases. The exam credit process will not change. Vouchers only apply when purchasing the Learning System/Exam bundle. Yes

9 Will APICS give a discount for those who have already started the CPIM program and passed a few exams? For them to finish the CPIM Certification. Have we considered 1 free retake on CPIM test to make it more attractive and lessen the pressure while taking the test? For students who have started their journey to get their CPIM and are currently taking Basics of Supply Chain, if they don't complete certification by September what happens? Is it correct that a BSC exam is valid for 10 years, but Part 1 exam is only valid for 3 years? Please clarify how the 10 year credits will allow persons to learn and test to complete the legacy CPIM if the class and courseware set. Seems that there is only to the end of 2018 for this. Can the chapter buy an exam access and sell it to a student? Don't you expect a significant drop in certification due to significant increase of BSCM cost? Is APICS considering emerging market pricing at any time? Given the difference in price between the legacy exam products and the new exam products, there is already a financial incentive for most individuals who have begun their CPIM journey to continue taking legacy exams and become certified before YE Individuals who are using the legacy BSCM courseware should plan to take the exam prior to discontinuation. Otherwise, candidates should use the updated Learning System to help them prepare for the new Part 1 exam. The legacy BSCM exam is valid for 10 years while the new Part 1 and Part 2 exams are valid for 3 years. If an individual passed the BSCM exam 8 years ago and takes the new Part 2 exam this year or next year (prior to the 10-year expiration on that exam), they can become CPIM certified. Furthermore, individuals who pass the legacy BSCM exam this year will also have up to 10 years to take Part 2 to become certified. yes, chapters can buy exam credits for all of our certification products and resell to students. However, chapters must have the APICS ID of the student when purchasing an exam credit for that individual. We feel that because the 2-part configuration will significantly compress the preparation time combined with a reduction in the total cost of obtaining the certification (comparing the 5 test cost to the 2 test cost) these changes will increase the number of individuals obtaining the CPIM credential. APICS priority has been to equalize pricing between North America and Rest of World. Emerging market pricing is not being considered at this time.

10 Are we worried that s a legal problem with expiration on vouchers? Gift cards have to be importunity. If a value bundle was purchased, what happens if someone passes part 1 but fails part 2? How does payment work to retake part 2? No. the voucher is for a service and it is not a value card. A retake exam could be purchased as a standalone product. Candidates can purchase retake exams either from a partner (as an exam credit) or directly with APICS (as an Authorization to Test). However, there are no special discounts or partner prices for new CPIM retake exams since they are priced at $250. Are chapters still able to buy CPIM legacy exam credits for their students, how much will they cost? (As of the end of last year, they were $215) This is a theoretical question, but can someone take part 2 first? Could you repeat the information about new technology? What the difference for client? What does it mean? Yes, legacy exam credit pricing will not change in Please refer to the detailed Brainshark timeline for information on when legacy exam product sales will be discontinued. There is no system restriction which prevents someone from taking Part 2 first, however the ECM and Learning System will strongly encourage candidates to begin with Part 1 to ensure a better chance of success on Part 2. Technology enhanced items will appear on the new Part 1 exam and will provide the candidate with a more interactive testing experience and be more representative of real-world situation. Example item types would include drag & drop and ordered lists. The CBT tutorial which precedes the exam at Pearson VUE test centers will have instructions for candidates on how to use the computer's mouse to respond to these question types. Instructors Question How will IDP Lead and Master teaching requirements change? Answer No change: (1) Stand and deliver (Section IIB, Practical Instructional Hours) for leads

11 and masters. Remember, the stand and deliver hours are cumulative for all your BOK recognitions. You may also count general supply chain courses that you may have taught. (2) CPIM Certification. IDP Instructors will need the certification (either under the legacy exam or new) to instruct. Change: the same requirement whether the instructor is maintaining, applying or transitioning in In the previous 5 years ( ), instruct: Lead: (1) any 3 legacy exam courses (e.g., Basics, DSP, ECO) OR (2) both new exam courses OR (3) any combination of #1 and # 2 (between legacy and new exam courses). For example, Leads would be able to maintain their CPIM recognition by teaching any 3 legacy exam courses, both new exam courses, OR any combination of legacy and new exam courses (e.g., legacy Basics and Part II new). Master: either complete program - legacy or new. For example, Masters would be able to maintain their CPIM recognition by either (1) teaching all 5 legacy modules OR (2) both Parts I and II of the new product. This is also the same requirement for new applicants and those wishing to upgrade to Master. Impact to the Instructor Development Program in terms of hours required to be associate/lead/master, particularly during the transition period through YE2018? Stand and deliver hours for leads and masters remain the same. Remember, the stand and deliver hours are cumulative for all your BOK recognitions. You may also count general supply chain courses that you may have taught. Associates: none to apply but 8 hours to maintain Leads: 75 hours (to apply and maintain) Masters: 300 hours (to apply and maintain). For Master instructors who solely hold a CPIM recognition, those 300 hours can be met by a combination of legacy or new courses and non-apics courses if they are Operations and Supply Chain Management related. Master instructors may also replace up to 100 of the 300 required hours with

12 other activities as outlined in the Full IDP Maintenance Requirements document available at When will the IDP maintenance program be updated to reflect the new CPIM reconfiguration? What are the Instructor requirements to teach the new CPIM module 2? Because 2018 is a critical transition year (CPIM Reconfiguration and IDP Maintenance applications due January 1, 2018), the IDP Maintenance requirements will not be updated until after January 1, The teaching requirements have been modified to allow instructors to meet their 2018 maintenance requirements either under the legacy product OR the new product OR any combination thereof (for Leads). For Leads, the requirements reflect greater flexibility to allow for any knowledge transition as retiring Masters may seek to develop Leads. APICS considers CPIM Module 2 (Part II) to be one exam course. Therefore, instructors that teach Part II will be required to teach the entire "mega module." CPIM Learning System Question When I buy materials in bulk based on forecast and then deliver later to members/non-members. How will I be invoiced than? Otherwise I have to order for each individual class which will cost more for transportation costs. Answer Partners are invoiced at the time of purchase regardless of whether it s a bulk purchase or individual purchase. Partners can return unused student materials for credit or a refund.

13 Is there an indication of the total number of days to complete Part 1 and Part 2 How many hours are required by a teacher to teach part 1 and part 2 in the instructor-led program? What will the classroom contact hours be for Part 1 and Part 2 When we do weekly 3-hour classes, how many sessions for each? My chapter teaches CPIM in the traditional weekly 3-hour weekday evening format. Will the sessions in the two courses be organized to fit this meeting frequency? Do we know the time to teach each one of the 2 modules? We need that to calculate prices. What will be the pricing policy for the local printing countries and thus avoid huge freight charges? Can the CPIM part II PowerPoints be layered in detail? This means that a base set of slides would fit for the 6-day course, and there would be additional slides that can be used to supplement the 6 days. We have some fabulous CPIM slides already, and don't want to lose those. At the moment we are still drafting the materials so we do not have a definitive answer yet. However, based on our initial estimates we expect the Part 1 class to consist of roughly hours of class time. This would total as 7 sessions 3-hours in length, or 3 full days of instruction. Part 2 will consist of roughly hours of class time. This would total as 12 sessions 3- hours in length, or 5-6 full days of instruction. In total, for both Part 1 and Part 2 the 3-hour agenda would total sessions and the full-day agenda would total 8-9 days We are currently looking into regional printing options. However, for the initial launch -- even if all materials were to originate from the US, the products sent from Holmes Corporation follow the harmonized tax code for books which is typically a lower tax/tariff rate globally. In addition, the declared value of the learning system is US$50.00 as the cost is based on paying for the declared value of the physical materials rather than the full value of the Learning System since the price also include the value of the online component. This does not apply to the Student Slide Books, the full value of which is the printed product. The PowerPoint slides for the CPIM Learning System will be adapted to fit the new format. This means that not all of the old CPIM slides will be available in order to avoid repetition and to better support the new format. The slides will also be re-vamped for the new product line and include new and improved graphics. We have an amazing team of SMEs developing this product to ensure that nothing that instructors love to use is left out of the program.

14 With CSCP, the instructor led classes had additional slides to use. Does that mean that the CPIM course being offered by the instructor will NOT have any additional PowerPoint slides? PowerPoint slides are only provided to Instructors for all of the Learning Systems. In order for a student to have access to slides, they must take an Instructor-Led course. This is the case for CSCP, CLTD, and will also be the case for CPIM Parts 1 & 2. How long will the learning system be accessible? Will it be similar to CSCP learning system which is accessible for 1 year to complete? How will APICS validate Plus membership on bundled pricing? Do we need to ID the person, connect them with Learning System at time of purchase when we do the "bundle" purchase? Who checks the type of member those people are? Will content of 4 modules (MPR, DSP, ECO and SMR) be significantly reduced? Will the content of BSCM change and how? Will student guide have the instructor slides. The CLTD does not. The Learning System licenses will be valid for 12 months from the point of issue (i.e. for self-study this is at the point of purchase, or for an administered course, the moment the license is issued.) Self-study users who purchase the Bundle will need to enter their member number before purchase. The store automatically checks this number before they are allowed to buy. Partners will be able to purchase as many bundles as they desire without assigning users immediately, however the expiration for the Exam Vouchers will start at point of purchase. Therefor it is important that as a partner you validate membership for your students before issuing bundled licenses or vouchers. We will be explaining the specifics pf the partner process for bundle purchases closer to the release. See above. The ECM content is remaining the same, but the presentation of this content in a Learning System format will be different. Content will not be "reduced" as the same topics will be covered, however repetition will be eliminated and concepts will be consolidated for ease of understanding. No student materials for any Learning System (CSCP, CLTD, or CPIM) will include instructor slides. The only way a student can see instructor slides is if they take an instructor-led course and an instructor provides them with a Student Slide Book.

15 What if someone buys the CPIM Learning System on their own, and then wants to join an instructor led course...we need to be able to sell them just a slide book. Holmes Corp will work with the partner on a case by case basis if there is a self-studier wishing to join an instructor-led class. Please note, the self-studier's online data will not transfer over to the partner's group reports. Instead, the student would start fresh with the instructor led class.
