1 As I m sitting here writing this article, we are still experiencing the dog days of Summer, but hints of Fall are in the air. schools are back in session, football has started, the vegetable garden is past its prime, and APICS Toledo is gearing up for another awesome chapter year! John Strothers, VP Programs, is putting together an outstanding event calendar. The Joint PDM with BGSU SCMI and SCMA Student Chapter takes place later in September, and there s a plant tour at Libbey Glass in October. Other upcoming events include a tour of the Lucas County Port Authority, and a PDM on Lean/Six Sigma with ASQ. Watch for details of upcoming events!! And, a brand-new round of CPIM Certification Review classes begins Saturday, October 6. Take advantage of this opportunity to complete your CPIM certification in an instructor-led, classroom setting. 8 BGSU SCMA is excited to see everyone back on campus and has a number of activities planned. Wed. 9/5 from 2-5 pm SCMA will be at the College of Business Organization Fair to talk to students interested in getting involved. We are open to anyone interested in learning more about Supply Chain Management regardless of your declared specialization! Thurs. 9/6 at 6 pm in the BA Hub, we will hold our kick-off meeting. With a supply chain activity to help break the ice, we again welcome anyone wanting to learn more about supply chain and our affiliated professional associations APICS and ISM. Elections will also be held to finish filling out our executive board. Wed. 9/12 at 6 pm in BA 1002 will be an open board meeting to welcome the newest directors and work on plans for the semester. Wed. 9/19 at 6 pm in TBA will be a professional development meeting on how to prepare for the upcoming career fair. Representatives from Owens Corning will join board members in sharing tips and best practices. Mon. 9/24 at 5:30 in the BTSU Ballroom is the SCMI dinner to be held jointly with SCMA and APICS Toledo. Student project poster presentations will be set-up during the networking 5:30-6 pm time frame before the formal dinner and presentations begin. We hope many from APICS Toledo will join us!
