4 Category 6 Cat6 Patch Panels Designed to meet the latest ratified Category 6 standards, these panels offer superior throughput compared with Category 5e components, whilst still maintaining a compact format and Power Over Ethernet capability. The 24 port variants are presented as a single row, within a single 19" rack 1U format, whilst the 48 port panels are presented as a double row, fitting into just 1 1 /2U. 5 Category 6 Cat6 Cable The category 6 cable features a plastic separator running the length of the cable, dividing individual wire pairs and precision control of manufacture, the Category 6 cable is a low cost cable, that maintains much of the flexibility of our Category 5 cable, and offers exceptional Cat6 performance. Where regulations demand, we also offer a high performance low-smoke, zero-halogen cable compliant to BS4066 part 3 and other compatible standards that meets the same performance as the standard cable. All Category 6 cables are fully tested and UL approved to TIA/EIA 568b & ISO/IEC 11801:2002 standards. Each cable consists of insulated cores twisted into pairs, with colours of White / Blue, Blue, White / Orange, Orange, White / Green, Green, White / Brown, Brown. 6 Category 5e Cat5e Patch Panels Category 5e patch panels are designed to offer performance to the latest Category 5e specifications and provide up to 48 ports in a compact format. For additional security and improved cosmetic appearance the sockets are supplied with anti-tamper screw caps to discourage unauthorised tampering, a major cause of post-installation problems with structured cabling systems. A 'Slip in' labelling field is located just above each outlet for port identification and terminations are colour coded to suit T568B. Each line jack is supplied with an integral tie point for simple cable management and include a clear plastic label window (16mm x 5mm) at each port and the blank label. 7 Category 5e Cat5e Modules Modular sockets allow a high level of flexibility during installation, allowing the installer to select socket types relevant to location, whether this may be traditional telephone, or high performance network. Greenwoods Communications has modules matching both popular module sizes - UK pattern LJ6C and Euro pattern 25x50. 25x50 modules have a 'Slip in' labelling field, while LJ6C incorporates a recessed 'Write-on' location suitable for adhesive labels. 9 Voice High Density Voice Patch Panels The 50 port High Density Voice Patch Panel is designed to provide a cost effective and simple way to feed PBX or other simple voice circuits into a structured cabling system. Unlike standard Category 5 and 6 panels, which, typically offer a maximum of 24 ports in the 19" 1U format, the rack mountable high density voice panel provides 50 voice ports at 140mm deep. Each port is clearly identified front and rear and is capable of carrying up to three voice pairs per port. Where functional earth facilities are required e.g. Earth Loop Recall, this can be simply catered for by commoning any single pair to the earth points provided. Each panel is supplied with fixing and earthing kits. Standard patchcords are used to connect voice circuits into the structured cabling system. 10 19 Inch Frame Accessories Cable Management Panels provide a convenient method of managing cables and keeping them tidy. Greenwoods Communications offer two versions: Standard Heavy Duty depending upon requirements. Both are supplied with fixing kits and finished in semi-gloss black. Management Panels The standard management panel comes supplied with five jumper rings and are suitable for most purposes. The all metal heavy duty cable management panel is suitable for handling bulk cables and heavy routing conditions, where plastic rings are prone to buckling and twisting. The metal jumpers have rolled edges preventing insulation damage. 11 Face Plates Modular 25 x 50 Face Plates A range of face plates and accessories specifically designed to accommodate the wide range of Greenwoods Communications 25 x 50 modules, be they network or telephony modules. Single and double face plates support two or four modules respectively and may be fitted on standard single or double electrical back boxes. Colour is a bright white gloss in keeping with commercial electrical outlets. Where the full capacity of a faceplate is not to be realised, half and full blanking modules are available to close gaps. 12 Back Boxes Back Boxes Our range of plastic backboxes are cost effective solutions for a wide range of surface mount applications. Manufactured in tough ABS, they are much less brittle than traditional electrical backboxes and, so less prone to damage during installation. Single gang variants are designed for use with 86mm x 86mm faceplates and are available in three depths (21mm, 32mm and 45mm). Double gang variants accept 146mm x 86mm faceplates and are available in 32mm, 37mm and 45mm deep variants. The standard colour for all variants is bright white (BT 1P) to match the wide range of data and telephony linejacks. All variants feature a selection of mounting holes for ease of installation. There are cable entry knockouts on all sides of the backbox as well as the base for maximum flexibility. 14 Network Terminating Unit Network Terminating Units The CTE5 is an industry standard network termination unit. This is fitted inside customer premises and offers a demarcation point between network and customer wiring. Using a removable lower cover, customers extension wiring can easily be isolated from the telephone network facilitating fault location. The CTE5 is supplied as standard with full BT style PSTN mastering i.e. with ring capacitor, surge arrestor and opt out of service resistor. The CTE5 uses punchdown style IDC connections suitable for smaller diameter (up to 0.65mm) conductors as found in, for example, CATV style hybrid coaxial / telephony (siamese) cable. The CTE5 can be surface mounted using the backbox provided or flush mounted in any standard single gang (BS3662 size UA1) wallbox. Cable entry points are provided in the top, bottom and sides. Knock-outs in the rear of the backbox give additional flexibility in cable/wiring entry and exit. 16 ADSL ADSL Splitter The NTE ADSL Splitter is a plug in faceplate designed to replace the customer access panel of standard Network Termination Units NTE5 and CTE5. The faceplate provides outlet ports for computer network and BT telephone sockets. In addition a terminal is provided on the rear of the unit for extension wiring. The telephony circuitry is fully compliant to BT specifications and will permit extensions up to the value of REN4 to be added. Due to careful design, the DSL circuitry offers very good Signal to Noise Ratio's (SNR), has proved particularly suited to areas where DSL connections are considered marginal. These filters are typically plugged into their telephone sockets. 17 ADSL ADSL Mini-Net Traditionally installing telephony and computer networks in a small office or household requires laying individual telephone and network cables to each desk location and installing both a telephone and network socket. This is often both expensive and as inconvenient as it is laborious. Through its unique design, the Mini-LAN SOHO Network system drastically simplifies the process by combining an Ethernet 10/100 base T auto sensing networking switch, ADSL modem and telephone distribution in to a single control unit. From this unit a single Cat5e cable provides both Ethernet networking and analogue telephony to a dual-purpose outlet, halving the amount of cabling that needs to be installed. Easy to Install 1. The lid is secured to the base using two screws and incorporates a mark up field for pair identification. 19 Connection Connection Boxes The 250 and 300 Series Connection Box are versatile plastic boxes designed to contain various back-mount frames and mountings for ancillary components. The base has generous provision for fixing of cable tie anchors, jumper rings, earth posts and connector mountings. (See below for details of accessories available). The 250 series cover gives an internal clearance of 70mm and will accept a 30mm deep back mount frame fitted with 237A connector strips. The 251A box is supplied with an 11mm deep back mount frame. The cover is secured by large head quick release screws and has removable side and end panels. All panels have breakout sections for cable entry. The 250 Series box can be used singly or in multiple configurations when the bases are fitted together and the appropriate side or end panels removed. The 300 Series boxes are available with either a standard deep cover, capable of housing protector mounts. Manufactured from chromium steel and available in a wide range of lengths and depths, they are simple to use, adaptable, lightweight and corrosion resistant allowing them to be used in most conditions. 21 Connection AT500 Series Connection Box The AT500 Series Connection boxes offer increased pair capacity while maintaining an industry footprint. The 34 way stainless steel back-mount frame verticals support punchdown 237 IDC strips giving a normal capacity of 340, 680,1020 or 1360 pairs depending on the model. A unique feature of the AT500 range allows an extra 5 way back-mount to be fitted under the standard verticals increasing the capacities to a roomy 390, 780, 1170 or 1410 pairs. The door opens through a full 180 for ease of access. It can be removed entirely using quick release hinges and is easily reversed for left-right opening applications. The door is fully lockable and is equipped with a large document wallet for system documentation. 23 Main Distribution Frames FD111B The FD111B is an extremely strong, but lightweight single vertical, modular distribution frame offering ease of transport and flexibility of installation. The modular construction of the FD111B means that any size of installation can be equipped using a standard building block. The FD111B is compatible with older style frames (e.g. 105, 108) to allow extension of existing installations. Single verticals can be joined side by side for wall mounting or back to back for a freestanding system, some vertical support may be required. For uneven floors the standard legs are adjustable. If height reduction is required, the legs can be removed and the FD111B mounted directly on floor giving an overall height of just 1850mm. 24 Main Distribution Frames 108A Frame Distribution 108A is a low cost, two vertical, modular distribution frame offering up to 1380 pairs capacity using 10 pair Strips Connection 237A. Modular construction means that the units may be assembled side-by-side for wall mounting, or back-to-back for freestanding applications, using the fixings provided, some vertical support may be required. Cable management includes large jumper rings fitted top, bottom and between terminal banks, whilst individual terminal blocks are provided with fixed fanning strips. Earthing is provided via a heavy copper earth commoning bar fitted to the bottom of the frame and running the full width of the frame. Adjustable legs allow for uneven flooring, or may be removed where height is a limitation.
