The connectors are certified as a component only for use on PV panels where the suitability of the final combination is to be determined by CSA International. 4. The connectors shall not be used for interrupting current. 5. The suitability of the mounting means shall be determined in the end use. 6. A temperature test shall be conducted in the end use equipment. 7. Additional tests that shall be conducted in the end use equipment are, but not limited to: Temperature and Humidity Cycling, Wet Insulation Resistance. 8. Polarity markings shall be provided on the end use equipment. PV Junction Boxes, Models PV-MDB4 and PV-MDS4, suitable for outdoor use with respect to exposure to Ultraviolet Light, Water Exposure and Immersion, as listed below: Maximum System Voltage: 600 V dc Maximum Current: 30 A 2. The junction boxes have been investigated only for factory They are not acceptable for field Strain Relief test, Wiring Compartment Securement Test (with and without adhesive pad), Temperature Test and Humidity Cycling Test, with follow up Wet Insulation Resistance Test and Water Spray Test. 10. These components have not been assessed for a maximum series fuse amp rating. The maximum series fuse amp rating should be assessed in the end product. 11. These components use a plastic material which has an RTI of 120ºC for mechanical with impact. Consideration should be given to the end use that operating temperatures not exceed 100ºC when evaluated at a 40ºC ambient at full load, unless the application provides protection from impact. 12. The enclosure material has been evaluated for exposure to UV radiation and water. 13. Installation instructions are not provided with the junction box as the junction box is attached to the endproduct via an automated process. Alternate Encapsulant: NRTL Recognized, 'Momentive Performance Material Japan LLC', Material Designation TSE3664M, minimum 3.0 mm thick (rated UL94V-0, RTI=105/-/105, HWI=0, 3.0 mm) Adhesive: NRTL Recognized, 'Dow Corning Corp', material designation HM-2500, rated HB, 105 C RTI. Alternate Adhesive: NRTL Recognized, 'Dow Corning Corp', material designation Instant Seal, rated HB, 105 C RTI. Alternate Adhesive: NRTL Recognized, 'Dow Corning Corp', material designation PV8205, rated HB, 105 C RTI. The suitability of the cited encapsulants and adhesive mounting means, or any other NRTL Recognized material chosen by the module manufacturer shall be determined in the end use application. 11. A temperature test should be conducted in the end use equipment. These devices have been evaluated at a 40ºC ambient at full load. The RTI rating of the component allows for a maximum use temperature of 110ºC. 12. The enclosure material has been evaluated for outdoor long-term exposure to UV radiation and water.

4 Page 4 of Models PV-JB/SM and PV-JB/SM-D were subjected to Water Spray, Strain Relief and Humidity Cycling. 14. The end-product PV manufacturer may apply the additional accessory cover as its use as an option. This cover has not been assessed for safety functions. No tests were conducted on the wiring box with the additional cover in place. Any use of this accessory cover must be considered in the context of the enduse function. The recommend adhesive materials for the optional accessory cover are: - NRTL Recognized, 'Dow Corning Corp', type Solar PV 804. Rated HB, RTI= NRTL Recognized, '3M Company Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Div.', type PV PV Connector Branch Plug and Socket, Models PV-AZS3-UR (Order No UR) and PV-AZB3- UR (Order No UR), as listed below, suitable for use with Photovoltaic Modules and Panels, suitable for field assembly, suitable for use in outdoor locations.
