Load sequencing, standard on Emergency Power & Logic Card. 3. Power Center controls all loads associated with ambulance. 4. Same switch operation to latch and unlatch relay loads. 5. RCT Power Center rated 12 VDC at 250 ampere. 6. Battery monitor shows, battery voltage above 11.5 VDC. 7. All loads circuit breaker protected. (auto reset ) 8. Loads switched via 30 / 40 ampere automotive relay, replaceable. 9. Switch lights and amber led s show status of logic circuits. 10. Green led s show status of breaker and relay output to loads. 11. APC protected against continuous over voltage. (i.e. alternator failure ) 12. Fluorescent lights, auto on, when converter power connected. 13. Eight station external compartment light control. 14. Manual override, dome high, vacuum pump, inverter, secondary and beacon. 15. Battery negative buss RCT 167 provides means for - VDC circuit returns. 16. Physical size 16 wide x 27 high x 2.5 deep: System weight 12 Lbs. RCT ANBULANCE POWER CENTER The APC is comprised of two major subsystems; Emergency Power & Logic System and the Module Master System. The Emergency Power and Logic Card is connected via a 25 conductor shielded cable to the Emergency Master Switch Assembly. (Part of dash switch panel.) Those switches are as follows. 1. Emergency Master Switch, with on indicator. 2. Primary Switch, with on indicator. 3. Secondary Switch, with on indicator. 4. Stingray Switch, with on indicator. 5. Beacon Switch, with on indicator. 6. Override Switch, with on indicator. 7. Rear Beacon Switch, with on indicator. 8. Wig-Wag Switch, with on indicator. 9. Horn / Siren Switch, with on indicator. 10. Auxiliary #1 Switch, with on indicator. The Module Master Logic Card is connected via a 25 conductor shielded cable to the Module Master Switch Assembly. (Part of dash switch panel.) Those switches are as follows. 1. Module Master Switch, with on indicator. 2. Back-up Alarm Switch, with on indicator. 3. Left Flood Switch, with on indicator. 4. Rear Flood Switch, with on indicator. 5. Right Flood Switch, with on indicator. 6. Fog Light Switch, with on indicator. 7. Auxiliary #1 Switch, with on indicator. The two above switch assembly s are generally housed on a single printed circuit board and have provisions for the following inputs / outputs to the APC thru the two 25 pin shielded data cables. 1. Reverse Switch (+12 VDC input) 2. Park Switch (Input, to battery negative) 3. High Idle (To Battery Negative when place in park.)
6 4. Ignition (+12 VDC input, enables system.) 5. Clearance Lights (+12 VDC input, operates CL / Lt relay.) The Module Master Logic Card is also connected via a 28-pin data cable to the Module Switch Assembly. (This switch assembly is part of the dash panel.) Those switches are as follows. 1. Module Master Switch, with on indicator. 2. Code Light Red Switch, with on indicator. 3. Code Light Amber Switch, with on indicator. 4. Code Light Green Switch, with on indicator. 5. Buzzer Switch, with on indicator. 6. Dome Light High Switch, with on indicator. 7. Dome Light Low Switch, with on indicator. 8. Fluorescent Light Switch, with on indicator. 9. Cabinet Light Switch, with on indicator. 10. Vacuum Pump Switch, with on indicator. 11. Inverter Switch, with on indicator. 12. Air Conditioner Switch, with on indicator. 13. Heater Switch, with on indicator. The Module Master Logic Card has seven inputs to control the following loads. 1. -BD- Back Door, goes to battery negative thru door switch. (Operates Dome Low and Back Floods relays; Door Open indicator will flash on dash panel. ) 2. -RD- Rear Door, goes to battery negative thru door switch. (Operates Dome Low and Right Flood relays; Door Open indicator will flash on dash panel. ) 3. -EC- External Compartment, goes to battery negative thru on terminal, RCT 450 eight station compartment light controller. External Compartment will flash on dash panel. ) 4. -RF- Operates Right Flood Relay, via momentary switch, remote mount. 5. -HT- Operates Heat Relay, via thermostat. (Can be overridden with heat switch on Module switch assembly. ) 6. -BF- Operates Back Flood Lights, via momentary switch, remote mount. 7. -AC- Operates Air Conditioner, via thermostat. (Can be overridden with A / C Switch on module switch assembly.) The Emergency Power and Logic Card has the following relay power outputs with auto reset circuit breakers with indicated ratings. 1. Horn / Siren Relay, form C contacts only, 30 /40 ampere relay with no circuit breaker Protection. 2. Clearance Light Relay, with 30-ampere circuit breaker. 3. Rear Beacon Relay, with 30-ampere circuit breaker. 4. Wig-Wag Relay, with 15-ampere circuit breaker. 5. Auxiliary #1 Relay, with 15-ampere circuit breaker. 6. Stingray Relay, with 15-ampere circuit breaker. 7. Beacon Relay, with 40-ampere circuit breaker. 8. Ignition Relay, with 40-ampere circuit breaker. 9. Emergency Master Relay, with 30-ampere circuit breaker. 10. Clock Memory Terminal, with 20-ampere circuit breaker, (no relay) 11. Load Receptacle, with 20-ampere diode. (No relay) 12. Primary Output (open collector 100 ma. maximum.) (No relay) 13. Secondary Output (open collector 100 ma. maximum.) (No relay) 14. Strobes Output (open collector this current must be added to #12 or #13 and not to Exceed those rating stated 100 ma.) (Goes low with Primary or Secondary) The Module Master Power Card has the following relay power outputs with auto reset circuit breaker with indicated ratings. 1. UVR Relay with 30-ampere circuit breaker. (This relay will de-energize when battery Disconnect is opened or if system voltage drops below 11.5 VDC and zero ohm resistor is removed. Located above Inv. Override Switch. )

(Converter relay removes battery Power from above terminal and connects shore power to this terminal, which is unswitched). This board has input for A / C OEM thru diode and output to A / C rear.

Install main feed wire #4/0 battery cable from battery negative (-) to compartment Which will house RCT Ambulance Power Center. 2. Install main feed wire #4/0 battery cable (+) to line side of system disconnect switch ( if used ) then from load side of disconnect switch to compartment which will house RCT Ambulance Power Center. 3. Install #10 AWG conductor from system disconnect, line side ( un-switched ) to compartment which will house RCT Ambulance Power Center. 4. Install two data cables, 25 conductors, one blue, one red from front switch panel (driver dash area) to compartment area, which will house RCT Ambulance Power Center. 5. Install one data cable, 28 conductors, unmarked from module switch panel to compartment, which will house RCT Ambulance Power Center. 6. With dash switch panel in hand connect red 25-conductor data cable to the emergency switch section. Insure this connector is mated correctly. 7. With dash switch panel in hand connect blue 25-conductor data cable to module switch section. Insure this connector is mated correctly. 8. With dash switch panel in hand connect five input / output signals to terminal strip, from vehicle chassis. R / SW INPUT VDC AT 100 M/A MAXIUM PK / SW.-----INPUT-----TO BATTERY NEGATIVE -100 M/A MAXIUM V / T OUTPUT---SINK 100 M / A MAXIUM IGNITION---INPUT VDC AT 100 M /A MAXIUM C / LT INPUT VDC AT 100 M /A MAXIUM 9. With module switch panel, connect 28-conductor data cable to connector of this board. Insure this connector is mated correctly. 10. Recheck all connections to front switch panel and module switch panel. These connections must be correct. Mount and secure these panels in there proper openings. 11. Place RCT Ambulance Power Center with anti-static wrappings into area in which it is to be mounted. Place static wrist guard on wrist and connect free end to vehicle frame or battery negative (-). 12. Remove protective covering from RCT Ambulance Power Center and mounts into compartment. Do not drill printed circuit boards, mount only ABS mounting system. 13. Install battery negative #4/0 (-) cable to RCT 167 Battery Negative Buss. 14. Install red 25 conductor data cable to J1 of RCT 448 Emergency Power and Logic Card. Recheck this connection, it must be correct. 15. Install blue 25-conductor data cable to J1 Dash Switch Panel of RCT 445 Module Master Logic Card. Recheck this connection, it must be correct. 16. Install 28 conductor data cable to J2 of RCT 445 Module Master Logic Card. Recheck this connection, it must be correct. 17. Remove red shorting sire from battery negative to clock memory of RCT 448 Emergency Power and Logic Card.
21 18. Connect #10 AWG conductor to BR1 Battery on RCT 448 Emergency Power and Logic Card. 19. Connect feeder cable #4/0 positive (+) from load side of disconnect switch to buss bar of RCT Ambulance Power Center. 20. Disconnect static guard and reconnect to battery negative at battery. Connect both battery negative and battery positive cables to battery. NOTE: All loads may now be connected to Ambulance Power Center. Upon disconnecting battery cables from batteries, short both cables with a small # 18 AWG conductor. BE CERTAIN NO OTHER BATTERYS ARE CONNECTED TO SYSTEM FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN A WIRE BURN. AVOID TOUCHING LOGIC CHIPS ON CONTROLLER.

Turn this switch to its off position, Verify that power is off, check with test light to APC buss bar. 2. Place supplied static guard on wrist and attach free end to battery negative card, RCT 167, located on APC. 3. Remove J1, 25 pin data cable, from it s respective header, marked Dash Switch Panel located in center of Module Logic Card. Do so by grasping connector and Pulling straight forward. Do not rock side to side, identify this cable for reconnection. 4. Remove J2, 28-pin data cable, from its respective header, marked Module Switch Panel located bottom center of Module Master Logic Card. Do so by grasping connector and pulling straight forward. Do not rock side to side, identify this cable for reconnection. 5. Remove J2, 26-pin data cable, from respective header, located right center of Module Master Logic Card. Do so by grasping connector and pulling straight forward. Do not rock side to side, identify this cable for reconnection. 6. Remove wiring from four-position terminal strip located lower left corner of Module Master Logic Card. Identify all wires for reconnection. A. BD [ ] Check after reconnection. B. RD [ ] Check after reconnection. C.. EC [ ] Check after reconnection. Note: Pull.250 spades from terminal marked EC. (Below J3-18) D. -- [ ] Check after reconnection. 7. Remove card and place in safe location. 9. Remove new card from anti-static wrapping, install and secure with eight Phillips Screws. 10. Reinstall J3, 18 pin data cable on it s respective header, be certain all pins are mated Correctly. (Removed in step #5.) 11. Reinstall J2, 28 pin data cable on it s respective header, be certain all pins are mated Correctly. (Removed in step #4) 12. Reinstall J1, 25 pin data cable on its respective header, be certain all pins are mated Correctly. (Removed in step #3) 13. Reinstall wiring on four position terminal strip, be certain all wires are under clamp, See step #6 for correct color-coding.

Secure this cable to avoid contact with battery negative or vehicle frame. 5. Remove J1, 25 pin connector with data cable from it s respective header, mounted to The Emergency Power & Logic Card. Do so by grasping connector and pulling forward until separation occurs. Do not rock side to side. 6. Remove all wiring from TB-2, twelve position terminal strip located below center right. Remove eight Phillips screws located on perimeter of Emergency Power & Logic Card. This printed circuit board may now be removed and stored in a safe location. 10. Remove new Emergency Power & Logic Card from it s protective wrapping. Handle only on board edge or other non conductive areas. Install in position vacated in step #9. Secure with eight Phillips screws. 11. Install buss bar with 25 10/32 k-nuts, which was removed in step # Install 25-conductor data cable to J1 header, which was removed in step # 5. Recheck After installation to insure all pins are mated. 13. Reviewing step # 6 reconnect all wiring to TB2 openings # 1 thru # 12, check off as Completed. Note: Be certain wire strands are under terminal clamps and open terminals Are tightened. 14. Reviewing step # 7 reconnect all wiring to TB-1 openings # 1 thru # 5, check off as Completed. Note: Be certain wire strands are under terminal clamps and open terminals are tightened. 15. Remove tape from battery wire and reinstall at BR-1 on Emergency Power & Logic Card. CAUTION THIS LEAD IS AT +12 VDC SERIOUS BURN INJURY MAY RESULT IF CONTACT IS MADE WITH BATTERY NEGATIVE OR VEHICLE FRAME. 16. Reconnect + 12 VDC main feed to buss bar and secure with 1/4 x 20 hex nut, which was Removed in step # 4. The installation is now complete. Remove all tools from compartment.
